worth the money October 19, 2008 Reviewer:  R. R. Hartmann "Rozbeans" Real Name (tacoma, WA)  See all my reviews >

We just bought this for our 21.5lb 8 1/2 month old and we're using it as a facing car seat. I gotta say, installing did take a good 10-15 minutes but it doesn't move AT ALL. You really do have to read in the instructions, installing it is different than when my 9 year old was a baby) but with the two anchors and the seat belt, my son is secure.

The padding is nice and the straps keep him nice and secure. It leveled fine for me and we plan on using it for quite a while. I'm pretty satisfied with our purchase.

Pros and Cons July 2, 2008 Reviewer:  zigzag's mom (Silver City, NM)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my 10 month old son. Overall I'm satisfied with this seat as long as I don't have to use the LATCH system. This I would say is the biggest CON. I used a Baby Trend for his infant seat and using the LATCH was so easy compared to this. It's difficult to figure out where the LATCH straps go and once you get them attached it's hard to tighten them and REALLY hard for me to release them. The only other CON would be that I have to stack 2 towels under the base of the seat in the rear-facing position in order to get the seat level. But once that is done, my son seems to be very comfortable.
As for the PROS - when I first saw this in the store I thought it was a very nice looking seat. I put him in it and he fit well. The straps and buckles are very easy to use and adjust. The headrest adjusts very easily. I like that it has a cup holder although we haven't used it yet. I am very happy with how much cushioning it has. We have used it in our Camry, Windstar, and Tundra and it seems to fit fine in each with some adjusting of the front seat.
Even with all of the PROS, that LATCH system is such a headache, I don't think I'll get another one.

DO NOT BUY!!! November 2, 2008 Reviewer:  Jacob'd Dad "Chris Jr." (McKinney TX)  See all my reviews >

do not buy this carseat!!!! we bought two car seats at the same time, this one and the Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat.

if i were you, i'd spend the extra money and get the Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat.

this one was hard to install and after all the trouble, it moves around ALOT!!! i'm not putting towels or swimming pool noodles or anything like that to keep it level either. that is ridiculous to have to do that after spending so much money. it is possible to get a rear facing car seat to be stable and level. the britax we got is perfect, it doesn't move at all.

go with britax marathon!!

Use a pool noodle to level it out!! October 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Satisfied Mom See all my reviews >

I have read several reviews complaining of the seat bouncing around. Obviously it would need to be more stabilized. The hospital recommended putting part of a pool noodle where base of car seat and the car meet to help it recline to the proper position. This works wonderfully. It is somewhat hard to attach the LATCH system, but the seat is very stable and doesn't move once properly installed. My son is 14 months, has had it for about 9 months. He loves it! I would recommend buying it. If you keep the sun out, it does not get too hot.

Wonderful seat!! August 21, 2008 Reviewer:  R. Halverson "Shelby's momma" Real Name (Watertown, SD, USA)  See all my reviews >

This car seat is excellent! My daughter loves it. The padding is great, and we especially love the headrest for those cat naps in the car. I installed it using the vehicle seat belt as my car does not have the LATCH system, and I placed it in the center rear seat. The seat is so tight that if you shake it the entire vehicle moves!! It also sits up nice and high so my two year old can see out the windows. I personally feel it is equal to the Britax, and oh yeah, over $200 less in price! Wonderful car seat, we couldn't be happier.

worth what you pay August 14, 2008 Reviewer:  Lia See all my reviews >

We bought this car seat for our 6 month old (she is now almost 1 and still using it). Whether or not it works well really seams to depend on the car and whether the seat is properly installed.

Installation is a pain to figure out but once you've done it once it's pretty quick (we are still rear faxing and this seat has been used with latch and with seat belts). We have not had any problems with tightening it or with it bouncing (like was mentioned in previous reviews).

Rear facing it does sit up a little too straight because both our cars have bucket seats. However, we've seen the same problem with every other carseat out there and had the same problem with the Graco infant seat we used when our daughter was newborn. When it is reclined all the way, it is fine.

It is fairly easy to adjust, especially the head rest.

I think this seat will be much better once it's forward facing or if we get a car that doesn't have bucket seats.

The only thing we don't like is that our daughter sweats more in it than in the old graco because the fabric is so thick but I haven't found a convertible carseat that didn't have the nice thick fabric.

Great Seat for the last 5 years!! July 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Mom times 3 "Ace" (Washington State)  See all my reviews >

I have had this seat since my daughter, now 5, was an infant..we bought it as a second seat to her infant carrier and once she out grew that it has been our primary seat. I love it and so does she! It is her favorite booster (she has two others for use with babysitter and grandma)It has worked well backwards and forwards with and without the LATCH system. I have never had an issue with it. I am pregnant again and will be getting this seat again when the baby arrives and anticipate using it for her for years to come!

not snug enough September 7, 2008 Reviewer:  Mom of 1 (Laconia, NH)  See all my reviews >

I am returning this car seat because it does not have an adjustment for the buckle between the legs. My baby is 9 months and 22 lbs and she scoots down in it and ends up slouching. My old seat had 2 different adjustments to accomodate for this and I could move it in so it would be snug against her diaper area giving her no room to slouch down.

worst carseat March 23, 2009 Reviewer:  disapointed mom "Brad's mom" (Buffalo,NY)  See all my reviews >

I installed this carseat rear facing and it is very difficult to get the latch system tight I even climbed in while my husband pulled it tight and its still not as tight as I would like it. once the child is in the seat then the next problem is trying to tighten the shoulder straps they seem to stick and won't pull tight. Also the shoulder straps get twisted easy , so I'm always untwisting them before we go any where. I called safety 1st to tell them of the problems I have with the seat but they said It was just me nobody else has had any problems. I find it hard to believe its just me, this caeseat is for my second child and is the fifth carseat I bought and the worst. I would spend the extra money and get anther Britix

Bought 2, Looking for 2 More! March 6, 2009 Reviewer:  Mom of Two Boys (Oregon)  See all my reviews >

I absolutely love this Carseat.....So much so, I'm looking for 2 more for my car, as we have an 18 month old who's had it since he outgrew his Carrier at 6 months, and we now have a 5 month old as well who needs to upgrade soon. For those people who stated that it took too much effort to install and that it moves around alot...Yes, my husband did have to install it, but he's had to install everything in our vehicles. It doesn't budge even an inch with he latch system! It's very secure. It is big, but it certainly feels so much safer then any of the other carseats out there. I have a BMW, and I have to use a towel or "noodle" under EVERY CARSEAT OR BASE. It doesn't make it any less safe-It just depends on the car manufacturer's seats.(It works without it in my Husband's Dodge truck.)In regards to the straps "twisting" we haven't experienced that at all in the 2 we have and we use them everyday! I will say that when we first put our 6 month old in it, his neck would fall forward while sleeping, but as he got a little older (around 8 or 9 months old) he could hold his head better and it wasn't so worrisome. The two carseats we have look immaculate-Just as new as the day we bought them and are pretty stain resistant and the foam padding has held up remarkably well. I love the suede like feel-It's very plush and comfortable for our son.I highly recommend this carseat..The best one I took home and tested. It definately was a keeper!
