I love this gate!

This gate is great! I doesn't have little holes that little fingers can get caught in. It adjust so easy and will fit just about anywhere. You can take it down and put it up easy so when the baby is asleep you don't leave it up and climb over it just so you don't have to take it down and put it back up again. My mother in law got one of the cheaper Safety First Gates and it is horrible. This one is good though!

This gate is great! Not only is my daughter able to see me come and go with the clear panes but I don't have to worry about her trying to climb up and over it either! Can be used in just about any door or stairway and the pressure mount works great! There is the option to mount this gate but I opted not to do this because I can use it in various doorways! Very easy to travel with also! I would highly recommend this gate to anyone!

We have this gate pressure mounted not hardware mounted and we love it. we take it on and off of our 17 month old sons bedroom doorway with ease. I love that it is higher than other gates. It makes me more secure in his safety.

We purchased this item for the top of our stairs in our main room, we have it hardware mounted. It is horrible, after 'locking' it in place it pops and loses the pressure, when my 16 month old hears this he knows he can go wiggle it and it will come open. Better yet sometimes it pops and just opens itself. We contacted safety first and they replaced the first one, only a week after installing the next one it is doing the exact same thing. When Safety first was contacted this time they said they replaced it out of courtesy to me the first time and would offer a discount on another one but that is it. Of course we will NOT be purchasing any other safety first items for our current child or the new baby on the way. Please don't buy this product, it is not only a poor product is compromises the safety of your child, especially if you have it at the top of stairs.

The BEST GATE EVER

This is truly a fabulous gate. I use it for my pets who are climbers. This gate completely stops that. It is also VERY easy to use and can even be used on handed! I love how you don't have to adjust it every time you use it like most wooden gates. It's perfect!

Lousy gate

This gate is pathetic. We purchased it for our split-level and it is horrible. We could not get it tight enough in the stairwell (to keep him from going UP the stairs). We even tried using it in the hallway just to test the gate and it would not get tight enough. You barely had to push it and it would fall through. We have a normal house with normal sized hallways so I don't know what the problem is. Unless you're going to hardware mount this gate, I would pass this one up if I were you.

I did not like this gate. It was difficult to put in and out of our opening, because it had to have a really tight fit in order to not slide around when latched. It also marked my walls!
Would be better suited for a "set it and forget it" type of installation, but we moved the gate at least 3 times a day, so I'll be looking for something else!

I purchased this gate a few years ago and it worked fine. The reason I chose it was it fits into angled doorways. The locking mechanism does take some practice. As with any of the tension gates, I would never use them at the top of the stairs. I don't think thats safe. I now have 3 kids and am looking at purchasing it again. So if you have an odd angled doorway, this should fit the bill quite well.

Difficult Locking Mechanism

We bought one of these gates to use at the bottom of our stairway as our nine month old has learned to crawl up the stairs. After trying it for one day we returned the gate because the locking mechanism was very difficult to operate! It looks easy to use, but ours was not. It also did not fit correctly with our baseboards.

We have two of these gates installed in our house, one hardware mounted in a high-traffic doorway and one pressure-mounted to block off a storage room. The versatility is great, the installation of the hardware-mounted gate was quick (we had no difficulties with the hardware provided) and it's not hard to use at all (read the instructions, it'll help). Occasionally I need to readjust the width of the gate, but that's b/c it gets a bit too tight, not too loose as others have complained. I wish the gate came in an extra-wide model for the one other spot we need an extra-wide gate.
