i just got this scratcher and the moment i pulled it out of the box my cat was nuzzling it and and rolling on it. she likes napping on it too and has already used the scratcher for its intended purpose....get this item!

this is such a great item but target has stopped carrying the refills for it. GO to the contact section and tell them you want them back.

I have a cat (who is now declawed) that used to love using the coush, my dresser, the wall really anything as a scratching post. I got the scratch pod and it was like she forgot that there was anything else to scratch, she also liked laying on it.
I would definitely say this is worth the money

Inexpensive and slides in anywhere. Sprinkle a little catnip on it and watch your kitty scratch away. My cat also loves to nap on it.

I have three cats, two of which scratch my furniture into shreds. I supplied a variety of toys and furniture covered in sisal, carpeting and even both, some free standing, others hanging from doors, some large, some small, but all went ignored in favor of my furniture. finally I gave one of the corrugated cardboard items a try, and they love it even if you don't bother with the catnip!
I have a variety, and this particular one can be placed nearly any place your cats spend a lot of time, to tempt them away from furniture. people with limited space could probably find several places to put this, and there are a variety of refill inserts for cats with different preferences - the cardboard, as shown, carpet, and sisal.
I have mine attached to a closet door - even when attached tightly, it can make some thumping noises when a cat scratches very aggressively, and the pull on the doorknob is NOT good for the latch, which is why I only gave it 4 stars despite the fact that I love it, and so do my cats.
