THIS PRODUCT IS TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT BUY!!! We recently experience some elevated winds (20 mph) in our area. When we got home we found our gazebo turned over and in pieces. We called the manufacturer to find that the warranty is SOLELY for factory defects, and weather damage is not covered. The columns are ruined and we were quoted $96 ea. plus shipping to buy new ones. Ends up costing $400 to fix our unit. More than what a new one costs. I have filed a complaint again, but no positive outcome has prevailed yet.

2006 Model still standing and survived a 2nd Buffalo winter

*UPDATED 3/18/08* Here we are in 2008 after I put my 2006 gazebo together almost two years ago. It has survived extremely high winds of 50+mph and many storms including two harsh Buffalo winters. We even had an early October snow storm which put 2 inches of snow on the top, before I got the canopy off during the storm. The problem I would guess that many people have described with their gazebo is probably not really due to the product itself, but rather what it is placed or mounted on. This unit is extremely difficult to put together and time consuming, the instruction are terrible, parts are sometimes missing and you may even need to correct some of the manufacturing flaws. It will fall and crumble if it is not sercured down to a level solid surface such as a concrete pad or wood deck. I have mine screwed down to the concrete patio and I have not had one problem and my legs are not filled with sand either and remain completely hollow. If you don't have the means to secure this gazebo down, then forget reading anymore reviews and pass on this gazebo plain and simple. However if you can properly assemble this and secure it to a level solid surface it will last and last thru what ever Mother nature whips up (excluding tropical storm type winds). Before winter I simply removed the canopy and it was able to handle the weather. I would not be surprised if this thing is still standing 5 years from now.

Shredded Gazebo top!

We spent approx $2,000 when we bought this Gazebo and matching dining set in May of '07. The Gazebo was a challenge to set up with only my husband and I but we were thrilled with the gazebo when we finally had it up... until early winter when the top DISINTEGRATED! We live in Texas; no snow, minimal rain, and wind only occassionally. This should have been a pleasant place to be year round but the canopy's hooks started pulling out the beginning of February and the top absolutely disintegrated by the end of the month. When we finally got it down (my husband had to balance on a tall ladder and unscrew the top finial to remove the shredded top) it appeared to have dry rotted in a very short time. We have been trying to find a replacement top for weeks and all we have found were replacements for the 2006 model made by Sunjoy. Numark made the 2007 version and I have not been able to find a website to order the replacement. I have a call in to the company, their message states they will return my call.... I hope they do! The number I have found for Numark is 1-800-457-4652, they are open M-F 9-5est be prepared to give a model number. If we do get a top I will try treating it with scotchguard or similar treatment to help it withstand the weather and try to take it down for even the mild winters we have here.

2007 Tiverton Replacement Canopy & Screens

2007 Gazebo is FANTASTIC and durable! Great looking and a great value!
Neighbor’s cat got a screen in 2007. Canopy did great for two years – my mistake for not removing in high winds end of summer 2008. I’d still have the original if it weren’t for my carelessness.
I was able to obtain an inexpensive standard light fixture and had a local electrician adapt with a decorative hanging chain and longer wire (because it is not ever exposed to the rain). Its not an outdoor chandelier or fixture, but I hang from the central hook and wire-tie the chain to the support and snake the plug down one of the posts. It sits on a deck and as long as you keep the screens open in high winds, it does not ‘lift.’ As a precaution in winter, I simply use extra large duct ties (for A/C ducts) from the frame to my wood deck rails. I don’t over tighten so as to allow a little play in the frame. In high winds in summer, it’s easy to add and remove the larger ties.
You can get replacement screens from [.....](use code RK7044 to get 5% off).
Replacement Canopy for the 2007 model only (Style# SA-585, DPCI# 009 05 0195) can be purchased from Numark (800-457-4652).
Please note, there are other Tiverton 10 x 12 Gazebos (Sunjoy), so be sure which one is yours. You can look for information for replacement screens, canopies, and frames on the 2005 / 2006 Tivertons at cndcscanopycompany: Those canopy models do not fit any other model year. The actual manufacturer between the "2005/2006" [Sunjoy] and the "2007" model year [Numark] is different.
Please note, I don’t promote or am affiliated with any of the replacement canopy/screen providers. I just hope anyone who buys this great product does not have to spend time running around to find out what I already did to keep enjoying their gazebo.

We bought two of these in 2005 at 499.99 a piece. They were much sturdier than other gazebos which is why we bought them. The canopies have lasted me until this year when they both finally ripped beyond repair. We have strong Santa Ana winds in Southern California and they have done fine (but they are up against the house). Replacement canopies can be difficult. We went to Gardenwinds.com and purchased two Series 1 but they don't fit. The tags inside the existing canopies belong to a hexagon canopy so it is apparent that the factory put the wrong tags on it. We are still happy with ours but I wouldn't pay 799 for them now. Not sure what we're going to do now about the canopies...

Looks like quality - but don't let it fool you! Canopy top does not hold out rain. The water comes through the seams and the vent at the top pools. As I said, it looks great but it is raining now and there isn't anyway I can put out the cushions and enjoy without a plastic rain slicker!! I am going to make some calls to get a replacement top - maybe ours is just "one bad penny". If not... its coming down.

Love this Gazebo

My husband and I bought this gazebo in the summer of 2007. We had to ask another person to put help us put it together. This is our second gazebo. The first gazebo flew into our neighbors yard after a bad wind storm and broke into 4. It took us about 4 hours to put the gazebo up. Since there were not anchors to secure the gazebo to the ground, we decided to put bricks into the legs to secure it when a wind storm arrives. Over a year later, the gazebo stands and it withheld numerous high winds. I had to get rid of the net because a cat ripped it. Two days ago we had high winds and the top rip off into pieces. Overall, I love this gazebo. I found this number under another comment on Sean Conway, 1-866-578-6569, for replacement parts.

I read (just a few) mixed reveiews talking about holes not drilled properly, things not lining up etc.. MY experience was incredible! In less than 2 hours today, 3 of us got the entire gazebo built without a single problem or defect.
If you tighten (even hand tighten) the nuts/screws you will not be able to get things lined up, so just put them in and turn a few times, then tighten everything after the whole frame is together.
I do have to say that even though the directions have pictures of everything, it lacks words on a few pages. Still common sense and a quick study of the pictures make it a breeze.
The corners of the cover flap up a bit. Were going to put velcro to keep them down. A hook in all 4 corners would help a lot.
As long as you anchor it, I believe it will stand up to very heavy winds. We had 25 mile gusts today and it didn't even make a creak.
I deducted 1 point (I'd do a half if I could) for the corners flapping and the directions needing a bit more step-by-step wording.
It's gorgeous looking, very classy w/ lots of nice features (electrical cut-outs and ceiling hook for lighting). We highly recommend this gazebo.

I bought this gazebo at 399.99 I think it was worth that a few years ago. Today I would think about the price. I have gone through 3 canopys, and the nets need to be replaced. They do not sell replacement netting. The replacement canopy will run you 149.00 each through the manufacturer. Its a beautiful gazebo, but you have to be willing to invest money into the replacement parts, the canopy does not hold up very well, especially in windy areas. The price of this gazebo currently is too much for the future replacement parts. If you dont live in a windy area, go for it, Its a beautiful gazebo.
