I got this as a gift and I LOVE IT. unbelievable. My youngest son got very sick after crawling on my floor that I had cleaned with a "pine" cleaner. never again. so much safer, cleaner, and so easy. no heavy mop and buckets to lug around.

:) love this thing! I have hard wood flooring throughout most of my house, with a dog and a baby now crawling I like to clean at least 3 times a week. This makes my floors sparkle. I sweep, use the steamer, and apply shine to the floors and they look brand new everytime. Surprising how much stuff was on the floor after looking at the cloth!

First of all, you MUST vacuum or sweep before using. I have been reading some of the reviews and can't help but wonder how you can you clean a hard surface floor (any method) without removing big spills, loose dirt/hair first?????? We have a large vinyl floor in our kitchen which gets very heavy traffic (3 kids and a dog). The floor is 20 years old and traps dirt, b/c the finish is pretty worn, so until we replace the floor, our only option is a "hands and knees" scrub once a week (with frequent wet mopping with just water every 2 days or so). I used the Shark Steam Mop for my weekly clean instead of the scrub, and yes I had to refill the tank twice, unplug the cord and move it to another outlet and go over high traffic areas a few times, but it sure did beat the weekly "hands and knees" scrub (which also requires rinsing SEVERAL times and yelling at the kids, husband and dog to stay off the floor till it dries)!

I have read some of the reviews, and I totally disagree with the negative ones. This mop is fantastic! It is ready in under 30 seconds. The cord is very long, and I love that the handle has to be pumped. I have 3 small children so I'll take my exercise where and when I can get it. Two birds, one stone. I used to use the Swiffer WetJet, and now the Shark has cleaned spots on my floor the Swiffer never got up completely. I get compliments all the time on how clean my floors are. I do recommend buying extra pads, because they get dirty so fast and are easily machine-washed. I really love this mop! The only complaint I would have and it isn't really a complaint, but the water reservoir could be bigger. It does have to be refilled often, but it's not that major.

I would not waste your money on this. I was duped by the commercials about picking up sticky messes since I have two little ones that make messes. It just pushes the dirt around and only the middle front of the pad gets dirty. It also leaves my floors with horrible streaks on it. My son's spilled juice went from a small sticky area in front of the refrigerator to half the kitchen since it just spread the stickiness around. I had to use my WetJet to really get everything cleaned. I called the customer service line and (after not understanding the person on the other line) found out that it was based in India and they told me that there was not even a call center in the United States. They told me that my pads were too dirty (after less than 3 months of use) and so I bought new ones. Same problem. The representative kept giving me outrageous excuses as to why it was my fault (using detergent on the floor, putting soap on the pad before cleaning, not using enough water, etc.) The representative finally told me that the Steam Mop just won't work on my linoleum floors. He had no answer for which floors it does work on if linoleum floors aren't included. I am looking for my receipt to return this sham of a "cleaning" product.

This product is terrific, it is amazing how much dirt was on our floors, even after using a Swiffer WetJet! I use distilled water with it and it leaves the floors clean and sanitized. The steam mop is GREAT with pets and even crawling babies since you are only using pure water and not any chemicals! The only con that I have with this product is that the water container is very small, I have to refill it after each room or twice with a very large room. I use this on both tile and engineered hardwood flooring.

We have a 2,600 sf ft home with stained concrete flooring in over 75% of our house. I have had a hard time with a regular mop, I do ok with a wet rag on my hands and knees, but this steam mop works so well and my floors look and feel clean.

I just bought this item today. I have read the pros and cons. I do have to say it does clean the floor very well but it didn't clean the scuff marks on the floor like it said it would. I would recommend sweeping or vacuuming the floor before you use this product. I wouldn't recommend this product for some who has hard wood floors or tile. I think this product is better for laminates or linoleum floors. It definitely picked up a lot dirt even after I had just wash the floors with Mr. Clean and mop.

My neighbor had the H20, and offered to let me use it. I absolutely loved it. It glided over the floors so easily. But then I was out, and I saw the Shark. I figured it would be just as good. Well, it does clean, but it doesn't glide like the H20. Plus, instead of an on/off switch, it operates by the pushing of the handle as you mop. That feature is really tiring on your arms.
Reviewer: New House "Crystle" (Newport, Me) See all my reviews
If you follow the instructions, this mop is easy to operate and a good amount of steam comes out. I have only used bottled distilled water in it and have had great luck! Make sure you go over your floors with a broom first, just as you would with a normal mop. It is a little had to push, but it does help give you an arm work out! The one major negative is the short cord! I have to plug it in in several spots to clean the floors!
