I bought two of these bases at a Target store last weekend; they fit into my bedroom like a dream. They are heavy -- not glass but acrylic -- and just the right height.
I got white linen drum shades to go with them (instead of the cone shade pictured) to tone down the almost overwhelming girliness of these lamps, and man does that really look great! Highly recommended for an extra bit of glamour and sparkle.

I bought one of these in-store to go with the bedroom collection and it's so adorable. The lamp matches the crystal knobs on the furniture perfectly. It's heavy and doesn't feel cheap. It's pricey, but worth it.
