Beautiful looking set, great quality for price July 6, 2008 Reviewer:  A. Carlson Real Name (California)  See all my reviews >

We purchased 2 loveseats, 2 dining chairs, dining table, umbrella, and base from Target last month when they went on clearance. We were going to buy them all anyway at regular price -- seeing as that was a great deal -- but when we went back a few days later and saw them on clearance, we couldn't pass it up.

Got everything home. NO BROKEN PIECES. Installation of everything took about 2 hours, so not bad. When installing, be careful not to tighten the bolts too much when putting the arms on, or they may crack. Also, be sure you are using the right length bolts, as some of the ones provided are very close in length.

Went out and bought some teak oil from [a hardware store] after installing, and applied the next day. I would also recommend buying a vinyl deck storage box to put the cushions and pillows in when not in use to prevent fabric from fading. We got a Suncast one from Target that is a 99 gallon size [...] and it fit all the cushions and pillows from both loveseats and both chairs.

We are very excited to have company over and show off this beautiful set, which is a GREAT price considering it's Smith and Hawken brand.

As long as you are careful when putting the bolts in, get a deck storage box for the cushions and pillows, and seal it with teak oil, I think you will be very happy.

I recommend this set 100% and give it 5 stars.

PRETTY TO LOOK AT BUT............... June 19, 2008 Reviewer:  MRSMIKEY (CONYERS,GA)  See all my reviews >

IT'S TRUE, THIS TABLE IS VERY PRETTY TO LOOK AT BUT, WE PURCHASED THIS TABLE LESS THAN A WEEK AGO ALONG WITH THE ARM CHAIRS THAT GO WITH THIS SET AND ALREADY (2) OF THE ARM CHAIRS AND THE TABLE HAVE BIG CRACKS IN THE WOOD. ONE OF THE TABLE LEGS IS CRACKED ALL THE WAY DOWN. IT'S A SHAME BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY NICE LOOKING SET,BUT WE WILL BE RETURNING OURS TOMORROW.

Wonderful Set March 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Novel Reader "Novel Reader" (Dyer, IN)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this table, 2 arm chairs, 2 stools and a bench for my patio set. Absolutely beautiful and NOT one problem with anything! Easy to put together, I had the whole set put together in an hour. The chairs are so comfy with the cushions and a pillow. I cover mine up, so I know I won't have any problems with fading or cracked wood. Would highly recommend! Some pieces I bought in the store and some online...the pieces online were cheaper than in the store.

Cracks, cracks and more cracks! February 25, 2009 Reviewer:  Melissa K. Saunders Real Name See all my reviews >

We have had this table and chair set for a little over 3 months. Every single chair is cracking in several different spots. These are not small hairline cracks either. They are large, very visible cracks. The table also has cracks in several places too. They are not as large and visible but they are there. It has been more than 90 days so Target would only give me the manufacturers number. I sent the manufacturer photos of over 70 cracks or clusters of cracks. They "analyzed" the photos and sent us various parts to "piece-meal" together. RIDICULOUS! I was not satisfied with this solution and went back to Target. Kelsey in the Special Case Team division came up with a good solution, we returned all the furniture and she gave us a Target gift card for the full amount. Fair solution in my eyes!

Bad Quality October 25, 2008 Reviewer:  T K S "T K S" (Dallas, TX)  See all my reviews >

Purchased table, umbrella, chairs, and chaise lounge chairs in August 2008. There is not a piece of wood that is not cracked at this point (October 2008). We noticed the cracking on the chairs almost immediately - but couldn't return them because they were sold out in the stores, and we didn't want to take a chance on the shipping when we'd already had a bad experience.

As a loyal Target customer who is in the store and online frequently, I never would've questioned the quality or price of Target's outdoor furniture; the quality of Target's merchandise is what sets them apart from other discount retailers, in my opinion. I have learned my lesson in this instance. Never again will I purchase any outdoor furniture, as I basically threw my money away. Consumer beware...

Great Table For The Price June 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Bree644 (Apple Valley, Ca)  See all my reviews >

Yes, we also purchased this table and after easily putting it together noticed that were a few cracks in the wood. However it is a great price, we actually bought ours at our neighborhood target on clearance [...], that is a great deal considering that most patio tables at target and elsewhere are well over $300.00 so I'll live with the cracks for that price. It is a beautiful table and we love it, I'm going to go and get the matching chairs today. Once again u might want to check your target store first because the chairs were also less expensive in store than online.

Good quality for inexpensive piece May 28, 2008 Reviewer:  Catherine P (Sarasota, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

The dining table is of surprisingly good quality considering the price. I agree that it is quite a high table, which means our younger children have to perch on an extra cushion when eating, but it's also a plus for the adults and teenagers in our family because we're tall. We're very happy with the entire dining set which was shipped quickly, but are still awaiting delivery of many more pieces to this collection.

DO NOT BUY June 23, 2009 Reviewer:  J. Emmons Real Name See all my reviews >

The table is cracked, the chairs are cracked and this is not made by Smith and Hawken. I have spoken to White Tiger (who makes the set) and they are only willing to give me back bigger price to resurface the table myself. This is a horrible set. If anyone would like to complain call PSI Service 877-251-5558 or psiservice@aol.com

Target would not refund me a dime.

Great value! May 14, 2009 Reviewer:  cgazsc (Calif.)  See all my reviews >

We bought the table and two benches. After reading the reviews, we inspected everything thoughly and no cracks anywhere. After adding the legs to the table and flipping it over, we noticed four small, thin cracks, one at each of the legs on the two end boards. Obviously caused by over tightening the bolts. I didn't think I put that much torque on the bolts, but it was enough. The instructions should warn about such things, but it didn't. Fortunately, they were very thin and easy to cover up with polish. Not noticable to the unknowing. Everything was on sale, plus a 10% Target card discount made this an outstanding value! We love it.

The Deal With the 2008 Marlton Collection... April 22, 2009 Reviewer:  Angie S (N. CA)  See all my reviews >

First of all, these pieces are absolutely gorgeous! I ordered the entire collection with the exception of the chaise lounge. The other reviewers are correct when describing the numerous cracks and splits in the wood. Really not the best quality. I had to have a total of 4 loveseats sent before I received a non-damaged left arm! Also, 2 dining chairs and 2 club chairs had to be replaced because of broken pieces. However, the replacements were sent out quickly with a friendly apology with very little questions asked. After 1 month, I have noticed NEW splits and cracks here and there, and have decided to live with them... well, sort of. I was recommended by a specialist in teak restoration to purchase and use an epoxy stick made by Mohawk, and have been thrilled with the results. Also, I second the Sunwax recommendation as it keeps the wood's stain from fading. I can't say how the fabric will hold up because I had custom cushions made with Sunbrella fabric. Bottom line... You will not get high quality and you'll get a lot of hassle, but for 1/2 the price of my alternate choice, I still think this beautiful furniture was the right decision for me.
