We got this dance mat as an early Christmas gift and my 20 month old twin daughters love it. They love the songs and both get a kick out of dancing around. There are two reason's why I gave this toy a 4 out of 5... The first reason is that it is REALLY loud (no volume controls on this bad boy),and the second reason is because the screw for battery cover is already stripped. The cover wouldn't stay on without the screw, so we just put some electrical tape around the edges. Great gift for your Yo Gabba Gabba fan.

OK, this toy is EXTREMELY loud! We put tape over the speaker and that helped. Also, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the things it does. But, when you are 2, I guess you don't need all toys to be logical. It really isn't my favorite toy and I am surprised it costs so much, as poor as the sound quality is. Must be all the extra volume they put in that costs so much!

I very please with this item. My daughter likes to play every song and dance on it every night before bed. Unlike other reviews saying its too loud i think its just fine. I would recomend this item!

We purchased this around Feb. '09 so maybe we got a newer version? We've had no issues at all with ours, and it's been crumpled up and thrown in the toy box more than a few times. Still works great. Always works just fine on our carpet, without a hard surface underneath. I have a very rambunctious 1 1/2 year old who was rough on it, and it took the abuse really well. Ours DID come with brief instructions. All that said it is moderately loud, but I'd think most people who have toddlers are used to some level of noise. If my little one likes the toy, somehow I manage to "tune" out the volume.
The Yo Gabba Gabba logo plays long snippets of songs from the show, each time you push it. Each character turns the keyboard into a different instrument, the one they are holding. Except for Plex, if you push him each keyboard key says something from each character. Pretty simple. My little one plays with it every other day.

The whole mat also makes a "crinkly" noise that is apparently very entertaining to little ones. Our one and a half year old could turn it off and on by herself from about a week after we bought it. It has a nonslip back so it doesn't scoot around on the carpet or hard floor. The top is very slippery so beware of playing with it in socks!

The only drawback I've found is that the control unit is a little heavy and the only way to store the mat is to fold it in half, not very convenient.

I would definitely buy this again, or for gifting.

Oh my goodness....this is the MOST ANNOYING TOY EVER!! It is SOOOO LOUD and there is No Volume Control.....on top of that, it just sounds like "Extremely LOUD STATIC". It is very poorly made~very cheap quality. I was soooooo disappointed when I bought this for my little "Yo Gabba Gabba Fan". Seriously, don't waste your money on this....you will be very disappointed!

Okay seriously, I did go through a lot to get this toy and the kids aren't all that wild about it. I'm more into it than they are. I'm thinking that maybe it may be better for kids 4 and up. We recently learned that you can make it do a few different sounds but you have to know that. I'm not sure that there were instructions to tell you that. I think too it is more beneficial for kids who aren't just going to jump all over it. If you take your time, you can really make some nice Yo Gabba Gabba music. As with all the toys in my house, most times my kids don't get into stuff until after it has been around for a while. As far as the volume, that hasn't been a problem for us, I'm wondering are we just always loud :)

I bought this for my son for xmas because he just loves Yo Gabba Gabba but it has turned out to be the most annoying toy! There is no volume control, it is just super loud all the time!

It is very loud! We can hardly understand the songs being played but my daughter loved stepping on the keys to make music.

I got this item for my 2 1/2 yr old little girl who loves
"Yo Gabba Gabba" for Christmas. I don't like how it is covered with plastic my daughters feet stick to it all the time if she is not wearing socks. The foot pads only work half the time, I have to put a board of wood under it for it to work right for some reason it won't work right on our carpet alone. I like the songs it plays, but i was disappointed that it did not play the "There's a party in my tummy" song that is my daughters favorite and it is played on the cartoon so much I figured it would be one of the songs on the mat. I think the mat is cute, but my daughter dos not seem interested in it at all. She looks at it occasionally, but has only danced on it once it doesn't amuse her. My husband hates how loud it is too, but that doesn't bother me. But it is so loud that you can really make out what the songs are saying it just sounds jumbled and not clear. I would not recommend it to anyone else. I was not impressed in the least, I preparing to sell it.
