The tight–fitting lid holds a charcoal filter, which controls odor for up to 6 months. The satin–finish bucket fits under the sink, but it's attractive enough to make its home on the countertop. This thing is great! It is a a nice weight stainless steel one gallon size, which fits perfectly under the sink and the filter is fantastic. I have have had onions in it and couldn't smell a thing. Highly recommend!

It looks like the other three I have seen- Crate and Barrel is cheaper (exactly the same item- $) . What about a "compost tea" spigot?

We purchased this container to store our dog waste between trash pick ups. We store it in the garage and it holds the waste and eliminates the odor that we use to have when we were just putting the bags in the trash. This is a very good quality container, very solid. It is small but the exact size we were looking for.

I bought this composter because of the stainless finish and the easy carry handle. As soon as I got the item, I tried it out. Unfortunately the lid doesn't fit correctly. I put the lid on and couldn't get it back off. It's going back. I really wish this would have worked because I love the look of it.
