Seriously, what desk did y'all buy?

Alright, seriously. I want the desk y'all bought. Let's talk about mine: it holds my computer and my pens, but I'm really not too sure I could even put my backpack on this sucker after I get home from school without it crashing to the floor. I'd even be willing to trade with the person who wrote the "Meh" review. Honestly, that desk is probably a hundred times better than this lovely thing I've got over here.
It took me an hour to put together. I know my way around tools, and I can build things. Why an hour? you ask. Because half of that was spent either coaxing the pieces to fit together or MAKING them fit. I'm dead serious. Putting this thing together required all of my creativity and patience. What I really should have had was a table saw and a sander, but I don't, so it looks like a drunk person made it, and I have a couple of screws that I couldn't have slapped on this thing without divine intervention.
The end result is a crooked, wobbly desk that makes more noise than a dying walrus when you open the drawer. Value? Um, none. Nein, non, nothing, nada, possibly even NEGATIVE. I might keep it, but really only because I'm reluctant to part with it after I slaved over it for so long. It's like a trophy, because seeing it standing upright makes me feel accomplished. Building this desk may be the closest I ever get to performing magic, so perhaps it is actually worth that 70 bucks I paid for it.

I just purchased two of these over the weekend in Maple and they're built just fine for what they are. I did, however add Elmers Glue to places that I could to help with the rigidness - they're not very stable otherwise and I'm planning on fastening some ITSO cubes to the side that will also help with the rigidness as well. Overall it's a good, buy and it's VERY easy to put together, but I will say if you don't follow the instructions (typical Sauder type) you can make mistakes and then they'll of course compound as with anything you're building. I didn't have any problems at all with the drawer, works perfectly! Note: in the picture it look slike the sides are thicker than most, but they're not it's a cosmetic piece of wood, had it sides that were that thick it would have much better rigidness.

I only bought it because I needed a dark desk, cheap. It was a little annoying to put together, but then again i did get it on sale so i'm not worried too much. You get what you pay for, it's partical board, not sure how long it will last but it's serving it's purpose. It is pretty though.

i bought this desk five or six months ago. i needed a desk for my sewing machine to go on. and this was cheap and looked really nice! took like an half an hour to put together. the only thing wrong with it was that they had put the finish on the wrong side of a piece but it was going against the wall anyway. so it wasnt going to bee seen. i am seriously thinking of buying another so i can hold my fabric while sewing it! very happy with my decision! PEACE OUT!

I just moved into my apartment and needed a computer desk. It was available at my local Target so I called and made arrangements to pick it up. A friend assembled it and did it in one hour. The instructions are easy to read. The desk looks perfect in my nook. I love the draw for the keyboard and mouse and the color is nice and warm. This item is excellent for the price and when put together, it is quite sturdy. I highly recommend it. It was a steal!

I got this desk when it was on sale for [price] I wish I bought two. The dark espresso looks very classy. I put this item together by myself the two small front side peices do not align perfectly. However, I am the only one who notices it. The next time this item goes on sale I will purchase another for my master bedroom.

Ok this took way to long to put together, it doesn't look that complicated and it shouldn't but it took over an hour to put together. The pieces were not labeled clearly, some of the pieces didn't fit properly and I had to struggle a bit to make them fit. Wow it just took to much energy. However, having said that for the price I paid it is a very nice looking desk. My computer and printer look very nice and I'm happy with the end result.

I recently moved out of state and renting a smaller home. Since I lost the luxury of a 3rd bedroom, my home office is now located in the basement. I missed having a place for my macbook and bills. I wanted something very inexpensive since I do not know what my new home will have in terms of space. My furniture is dark in color and I didnt want a cheezy desk from [a discount store] that was either stark white or a faux pine color that would scream "I dont belong in here!" I am a seasoned assembler since I have purchased many items from [another retailer] over the yrs. But found this desk a little bit of a pain to assemble. Some of the instructions are not clear on which way a piece should face and after mid way through assembly I realized an error and had to dismantle and repeat steps over. The finish is attractive but please note it will not last. I think at most this is a temporary piece of furniture that might last for about a year before scratches and dings take over. Since the desk was affordable I purchased a white cloth parsons chair and some small sculpture architectural pieces of the Chrysler building and Effiel Tower (also available at Target). It does look elegant when dressed up a little.

I needed a desk where I can set my laptop and have plenty of space for to do homework. When I got it back from the store, it took less then 45 mins to put together and it's pretty sturdy. The only issue I have with it, is the you have to be extremly careful with the surface, because it will scratch. But all an all, it's a wonderful desk for the price.

This desk was in stock at my local target store. It was simple to put together and feels pretty sturdy. I would suggest some wood glue when screwing in some of the screws. It is particle board and a couple tightened but kept spinning. Other than that, the desk looks great and fits nice into any room. The expresso veneer good looking. extremely happy with this piece. Will be buying the bookcase and tv stand as well.
