This is perfect and affordable way for spot cooling. Simply put ice and water into the water inlet. No connection or installation is required. I haven’t been sweating for a while now.

I have had this product for over a year with no issues and I plan on buying another one for upstairs. I don't understand why people are complaining and are so angry over it! It does cool our living room and I love it. If you don't have air conditioning and don't plan on getting it, this is a good alternative. It won't cool more than one room, but it's a swamp cooler, not AC. You do have to add cold water and ice, but it's not like that's hard or anything. If I fill it with cold water, I can run it all day without refilling. I really don't get why people hate it so passionately.

I recently purchased Sunpentown Portable Swamp Cooler and am really amazed at how this little machine can cool my room. This Swamp Cooler is cost effective and affordable. It uses evaporation to lower the temperature. Adding ice definitely increases its effectiveness. I’m satisfied with the purchase and happy to have it around.

This is a great fan, but you cannot expect to get an AC. If you want an AC, pay the price for one. I have a condo with very high ceilings and I use this upstairs where it's very hot during the day. I work from home from the upstairs office. This fan works to cool the room very nicely when I add the water and ice to the fan per the directions. I don't think it's necessary to pay the extra for the ionizing fan.

This air cooler needed ice to be put into the device, not mentioned in the info on the internet. As soon as water is added the ice melts of course--the air coming from the "cooler" is as warm as room air. When returning the product you have to pay a restocking fee as well as hefty restocking fee. It costs almost as much to return as it does to purchase.

This air cooler works very well when humidity is lower than 30% or so. It is more effective if you keep your window open a little. If you don’t, the humidity will rise and so will the temperature of the air blown from the cooler. I prefer using air cooler instead of air conditioner because it is cheaper to operate and it’s better for the outdoor environment.

If you live in a hot dry climate, this is the perfect product for your spot cooling needs. It will not be very effective in areas with high humidity as the unit utilizes water to cool.

I am so angry I bought this item. I based my purchase on the person who gave it 5 stars. This was the only review at the time. I don't know how this person could have given it 5 stars. All this 'Air Cooler' did was raise the temperature in my house. I think Target shouldn't sell this product anymore. I think Sunpentown should discontine the production of this product and they should refund the money to anyone who has purchased this item. I bought this in July of 2006 and my frustration and disgust hasn't changed at all!

I purchased this for my bedroom so I don’t have to turn on my air conditioner during nighttime. This machine is very well priced and with great features such as timer, remote control, fan speeds, casters and etc. It has a big tank so you don't need to constantly refill it with water.
