Not sure about this chair..

Reviewer:  Fishers Newlywed  See all my reviews

I bought two of these chairs..I love the look of this chair.. that's about where it ends though. It took forever to put together - it was a mess. We followed the instructions carefully, but the chair seat slightly leans forward on both chairs. I've had several people look at it and half way take it apart; to no avail. I re-read the instructions so many times that I nearly have them memorized. You feel like you could slide off slowly. It's heavy and doesn't scoot across the floor easily - which is why i bought a chair with wheels to begin with...watch the hardwood floor - you must have a chair mat. I want to give this chair another chance, but geez! target said they will happily take it back and refund me the full cost. guess i be hauling it to the store this weekend.

Lovely chair, giant pain to put together

Now that I finally, finally have the chair put together, I love it -- it is very comfortable, the seat is actually big enough for me (average female) to sit cross-legged on if I want, the swivel and wheels and, uh, leaning-back-thing all function smoothly, and it's very pretty and looks a lot more expensive than it is. However, this thing is a beast and a half to put together. It probably would've been a lot easier if I had had someone to help me. You have to screw the slatted back onto the seat, and they make you do it with tiny hex wrenches at this completely impossible angle, all while balancing the thing sort of upside-down, and so I was sitting there in my living room for at least an hour twiddling away with a tiny hex wrench and hoping to god that I had the physical endurance to hold it all together in this weird position for long enough to get the screws in (I did, but barely). I'm glad I did, and I think it was probably worth an evening of hex-wrench-hell, but wow guys, can't you come up with a better way to assemble this? But like I said, it is a really nice chair, it's comfortable and it looks great, and I'm glad I bought it. Would be five stars if it weren't for the difficult assembly.

Both functional and very nice-looking chair

Reviewer:  Day Watch  (Seattle, WA, U.S.A.)  See all my reviews

OK, here are the sizes of the chair: the star-shaped base has radius of 14.5", whih makes its effective width to be about 27". The seat is 20"(width) x 18"(depth), the back is 17" (height) x 18" (width at the top). The seat is at 16.5"-19" above the floor - it goes up and down, and also tilts back from about 3 to 20 degrees. The total height of the chair is 33.5"-36". This chair nicely completes the furniture set (also antique-looking) I have in my home office. For me, the armless design of the chair is a plus because of the way I sit at my desk. The seat of this chair is made of solid wood, so if you are not used to sitting on hard surfaces, you might want to reconsider your choice. For me, this is, again, a plus, because it creates additional incentive to get out of the chair once in a while, thus not spending too much time in front of a computer. The assembly was time-consuming, but not very difficult. Just read the pictorial manual carefully, and you'll be fine. All necessary tools are included in the package. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Solid and not too bad to assemble

Reviewer:  Grinning Grandma  (Chicago, IL, USA)  See all my reviews

I bought this chair because of the price. It was on clearance and I saw a similar at Another retailer. It took three people to assemble it because of the weight but it was worth it. We had no trouble with aligning the holes. Everything was packaged and labeled beautifully. I love Target!

Solid, and comfy.

Reviewer:  Edaras  (Montana, USA)  See all my reviews

Take your time putting this together. Look at the picture of the chair base, not the notes that say put the air lift under the left arm. The mechanics of it don't work if you follow the special note. The tension adjuster knob should sit toward the front of the chair, if that helps. Truly, just take your time. I'm very pleased w/ the price and durability of this chair compared to the plastic/upholstered ones I found for [Price] plus.

Like it!

I like the chair. It's solid, it looks good and the swivel is great. It is a challenge to put together, for sure, but doable.

Missing Parts and no response.

This chair was a nightmare. It was really hard to put together and then when it came time to attach the chair to the base the piece they sent was not quite right and wouldn't work. I called for a replacement for a week and no on ever answered the phone at the 800#. I ended up returning it (heavy) to my local Target store. I would also not recommend it to anyone with hardwood floors as it is so heavy that it will leave marks.

Rockstar Chair!!!

Reviewer:  runner-girl "W"  (Atlanta)  See all my reviews

This chair is great! It is solid and looks expensive. I've priced comparable chairs, and they were at least twice as much. The assembly of this chair was easy. I put it together by myself. I definately recommend this chair.

not sure but I'll keep it

Reviewer:  scrapbooking addict "Erin"  (Massachusetts)  See all my reviews

I like the chair. BUT it is very heavy, it was very tough to put the screws in the bottom side if the seat ( I still have 2 that just aren't in all the way)
I'll keep it because it's to much of a hassel to return.

long wait for chair which arrived broken

Reviewer:  diva knevil  (dee cee)  See all my reviews

Not much more to add really. The shipping time was over~due and when it arrived the box was both opened and dented ~ so of course it came as no surprise to discover the contents inside broken.
I think I am finally over Target. They really do suck. I am fed up giving them chances.
