1) The TSA removes these locks in order to inspect your baggage. They often forget to put the locks back on. The TSA will NOT reimburse you if this happens. So, you will be out the money you paid for the lock AND your luggage will still go thru transport unlocked. No one wins
2) These locks are easily damaged. The number dials get smashed in making them impossible to turn. In most cases you will have to cut the lock off in order to open your bag.
We bought FOUR of these locks for vacation and only ONE made it home from vacation. One of the locks was damaged to the point we had to cut it off and the other two locks were lost in transport (they were on the bags when we left them at the departing airport, but were missing when we picked the bags up).

These lock combinations are very easy to re-set by accident. I ended up having to cut the lock off of my kit locker at my gym because I must have re-set it while trying to lock the lock.

I travel domestically and internationally quite frequently and have never had a problem with this lock. My old locks ALWAYS got cut off and there I was, traveling all day, with unsecured luggage. Ever since I got this lock, I have had no problems at all. My luggage is safe and I have a lock that's intact. I also have never had a problem with the lock's code being reset or with the dials being damaged.
Only reason I have to get another is because I lost my first one :(

The TSA will just cut them off anyway, then the airline and Target will not reimburse you. I paid a reasonable price for this lock to use it one time and then have it cut off. Target has a cheapy combo lock in its smaller price section right now. Just buy that one, then if it gets cut off during TSA screening you're only out of a small price.
