Did my Research October 23, 2006 Reviewer:  K. M. Mortensen Real Name (Montana)  See all my reviews >

I did my research on this toy before buying it for my Thomas addicted son. We gave it to him for his 3rd birthday and he loves it. However, I don't. I agree with the comments that the expansion track should come with more connectors, and that some of the cars are too big to get in the roundhouse, or get stuck. We have one stuck that 4 adults have tried just about everything to get out. However, he does love it and it is good travel size/convenience.

Son Loves This Toy May 9, 2008 Reviewer:  Blessed Mama See all my reviews >

My 2 year old son received this as a gift for Christmas and loves it. It was his first Take Along playset and now he's got tons. I'm buying another for my nephew's 2nd birthday because they both play with this and the others ALL DAY. I never have any trouble with trains getting stuck and I do have to help them put the tracks back together every now and then (our track pieces are different than the ones shown, and we don't have the little hill thing on ours), but otherwise it's the same. We have the flat track pieces, like the ones in the expansion packs. Anyway, this is a really great toy! Your little Thomas lovers will love this!

Son LOVES-Very Durable November 28, 2008 Reviewer:  mom of 2 "Jessi C" (St. Louis, MO)  See all my reviews >

My brother bought this toy for my 2 year olds birthday. He absolutely LOVES it! He takes it over to his grandparents with him when he goes. It is easy for him to play with. I dropped it transporting it one day on the concrete and it didn't do a thing to the toy! It holds up great!!!! My only down fall with it was when he first got it he would get his finger stuck in the doors trying to open it. But it wasn't anything serious. My son loves thiss toy and I would definetly recommend it!

Fun but beaware January 15, 2007 Reviewer:  Midge D (New Mexico)  See all my reviews >

We bought this for our 3 year old grandson Christmas of 2006. He loves it but buyer beware. Make sure you see and write down EXACTLY how the track comes out of the top. It has taken me about 20 minutes and that was hard to get all but one piece back in the top and then it is a chore to shut. Also our grandson did get some of his engines stuck by putting them in backwards but we had started buying him a die cast collection prior to this toy and we used Elizabeth the tow truck to pull the train out as it is set up magnet wise to pull. So if you have stuck backwards engines get one of the none engine toys to help pull it out. After three times of working with him to put the track together he can do it by himself and even takes the track and uses it with other ramp type toys to run his trains down hill. We had bought him a second battery Thomas train and now wish we had just bought these carry along sets instead as he wants to push his trains, not run them buy battery and the battery sets do nto stay together very well.

Thomas and Friends - Roundhouse Play Set May 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Heyjude (Iowa)  See all my reviews >

A must-have for your little Thomas fan. These sets are great to take to grab to take grandma's house. My 3-1/2 year old grandson loves playing with this. Compared to other Thomas sets, the price is reasonable. For that matter, the "Take Along Thomas" sets and accessories are a much better price when compared to the wooden line, very durable, and portable. Toys "to go" are valuable when Grandma is the sitter. When first shopping thru the endless maze of Thomas toys, it was so confusing to figure out which pieces were compatible. Narrowing it down to the Take Along line made shopping a lot easier.

Fun; but frustrating for little kids November 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Ryan's mom "Kristin L" (Upstate NY)  See all my reviews >

My son received this as a gift and loves to play with it. However, the doors are difficult for him to snap shut and open again. Also, the pull out piece is a little tricky and if you pull too hard it can easily get broken (we know someone who this happened to.) But overall, he really loves it.

Years of fun. March 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Gideon'smom*of*3 See all my reviews >

My son has had this toy since he was 2 years old and he is now 6. He loved this toy and all the other take along thomas sets and trains. He played with them non stop for over three years. This roundhouse has really lasted and is still working! Now that he is older he only plays with them every once in awhile but I'm impressed with the quality and how long they lasted with everyday use.

Great Toy for Preschooler October 10, 2006 Reviewer:  K. Scott Real Name (Mobile, AL United States)  See all my reviews >

I want to just say we love the take along Thomas sets! I only have one complaint. We bought this take along Roundhouse last Christmas, and now looking to add even more to our collection, I see the manufacturer has changed the style of tracks, and only include one adapter per item. I even bought extra tracks last year, so I have alot of the old style track with one adapter piece. I only wish they would sell a pack of 5-10 adapters for the new pieces. The new box of extra track pieces only contain 2 adapters. I don't think that is enough to connect old and new on a large scale. We love these trains and will try to make it work, but I wish the manufacturer would have researched this change to the system.

A MUST HAVE May 30, 2006 Reviewer:  angela (CA)  See all my reviews >

My son just got this--he's 2. He loves Thomas and has a few of the "take along" diecast engines. If you are starting to buy the "take along"s I would recommend getting this particular toy because it comes with Thomas the tank engine. I would also suggest getting the add on track--I think it's a 20 piece set. That along with the Roundhouse will get your child started. It's a great toy and it's easy to take places. My son loves putting Thomas, Gordon and Toby "to sleep". [...]
