Mixed feelings about this purchase. I have been looking for one of these for quite some time and have found that top of the line, made in USA price for similar items run fom [..]. I took a chance with Target on this one:
- Woodwork well made and cooler tub seems sturdy. Teak portions are made with quality wood, no putty on boards.
- There was a crack in the member that holds the hinge. I figured it was easier to repair than go through the hassle of returning it, so I took off the top and glued it. I replaced screws with longer ones from Ace hardware. OK now.
- As I have found with items made in Asia, metal is always substandard. I expect the "brass" to last 1 or 2 years before it starts to corrode. Fitting on this cooler were already corroded in some areas when I got it.
- price a lot to pay for an ice chest, but I got what I expected and saved $90 on shipping. Target made this normally luxury item affordable for an average joe looking for a sturdy towel box for the pool that doubles as a cooler when we need it. Overall, a nice piece of outdoor furniture at a very reasonable price.
