Since stoneware dinnerware can be expensive, I was really intrigued by the price of these dinner plates, and they are quite beautiful. Since I wasn't sure if I would like them, I only ordered four plates. While I love the craftmanship and appearance of the plates, they are absolutely HUGE! They're so big, they're more like platters than plates. I don't see how anyone in their right mind would or could eat enough to even remotely fill plates as large as these are. Still, they're really beautiful and the quality is excellent. I'm going to order the salad plates, and use them as dinner plates instead.

I got this entire set as a wedding gift from my registry. Every single piece, salad plates, bowls and dinner plates have chipped, and not just a small chip but very large and since the plates are white under the color, the chips are big white chunks missing. They look terrible. DO NOT BUY THESE!

I have had 3 of these plates "explode" in the microwave.

I have bought two sets of these plates and they worked well for the first year or so and now I have had two of the big plates and one of the small plates "explode" in the microwave -- they pop really loudly and cracked straight in half. The first one after 4 minutes, the second one after one and a half minutes and the last one after 30 seconds!
I cannot recommend these plates. The chip easily and now they are being completely destroyed even though they are "microwave safe." Do not use them in the microwave!

Yes, I read the few reviews before we registered for theses plates. We did all of our registering online, so when we actually got these plates as a gift...we were very pleased with how beautiful they were. The color is really pretty. We've had them for about 3 months now (and use them daily) and I had my first plate chip, yikes! I still love them...but I'm thinking about buying an extra four just incase lots of them start to chip. And oh yeah...the plates are pretty big, but it's fun!
