timex quality not what it was?

Love this watch for its sleek look, good price, date display, indiglo face. But previous versions of this watch seemed to last longer before the battery/watch died -- is the Timex quality not quite what it was? Not sure but perhaps it's time to buy a watch that costs a bit more but lasts a bit longer. Still, a good enough buy.

I received this watch for my birthday a couple years ago and I love it. It has run perfectly for the past few years and it I can wear it at the office, as well as on the weekends. Like other reviewers, I did find the band to be extremely large when I received it, but Target sized it for me free of charge. I would definitely recommend this as an all-purpose watch.

After reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance and purchase this watch. When it arrived, it did need to be adjusted, so I took it to my local Target where they did it for free. I watched how the lady took the links off and when I got home I was able to remove 1 more. It isn't easy, but it wasn't as hard as you think. As long as you have something metal the same size as the pin and small pliers, it's do-able. Surprisingly, it is very comfortable
for having a metal band. No pinching or itching. It's also very easy to set the date. I also like how bright the Indiglo lights up. I hope this will last me at least 10 years like my last Timex did.

Beautiful/Adjustable

I am in love with this watch. It is elegant and well made. Contrary to previous reviews, THE BRACELET IS ADJUSTABLE. I own two of these, both were adjusted by a local jeweler ($2 each). You may not be able to do it yourself, because it is of higher quality, and rather than push-able pins, this band has actual 1 millimeter screws. This makes the band more durable. It should be expected from the price.
The watch itself has a 1 inch face, conservatively designed, with a date keeper. The band is over 3 inches in diameter, when the clasp is closed. If this is the style you were looking for, it is a great look and make for the price.

Hi. A heads up on this oversized watch. I asked the customer service people about fixing the watch after they told me the bands could be removed and they ignored the idea! Someone else's review stated that she WAS able to have this done. Interesting and beware, most of the watches are now like this regardless of type, especially the more expensive watches. I think I will hand it down to a friend with huge wrists.

I don't like thin bands-this fits wonderfully!

I wanted a medium sized band and this watch is very neutral as far as male or female use. I wear it a bit loose for my own comfort. As far as removing links, I made them remove them for me at the store before I left. Great investment and I have had it for at least 3 years with NO issues whatsoever. If something happened to it, I would go out and buy the same one again!

I just received this watch in the mail and LOVE it!! I did read the other reviews and did order it because the band is bigger. For the price, this is a very sharp looking watch.

I love this watch, it is pretty and the date & indiglo features are nice. As the other reviewer said the watch band IS rather large -- my husband could literally wear it. I tried to remove the links myself but you need a little bitty screwdriver, so I had to take it to a jeweler to have 3 links taken out. I wasn't too pleased that it cost me extra to get resized, but I do really like it and in the end it was worth it.

While the watch itself has a clean, pretty design, the bracelet has way too many links! It is MUCH too large for an average-sized woman's wrist. Plus the written instructions provided to adjust the bracelet are ridiculous-- the watchmaker assumes everyone has tiny 1mm-sized screwdrivers at hand to remove the miniscule screws which hold the bracelet's links together. I guess I'll have to take this to a watch-repair shop to have it fitted for my wrist. What a pain.

I looked everywhere for this specific watch to replace a similar discontinued Timex. No one else had it. It was also in stock at a local Target, but it was cheaper on the website, even after shipping. I just made the order, so I don't actually have the watch yet, but hallelujah, the search is over.
