replacement for our current gazebo

WE bought this gazebo canopy to replace a canopy from another manufacturer. It fits, but we can see that wind will definitely be a problem. We hope it will last a couple seasons however. There are grommets to help drain rainwater, but the water collects on the canopy anyway, so it appears the grommets were not placed properly to do the job. It would also be helpful if the top center had a hole of some sort to let the hot air out. It would also help with the wind. The material is lightweight so time will tell if it tears where the velcro fasterners are that attach the canopy to the frame. This was the reason we replaced the canopy in the first place. Many tears at the velcro fasteners.

Canopy [top] vent and velcro straps poorly constructed

The old addage, "You get what you pay for" should be the theme for the Tivoli gazebo.
The first big wind caused the canopy to fill with air and ripped a baseball sized hole in the canopy at the velcro strap. I agree that the canopy vent provides little air release - keeping in hot air during sunny days and blowing it upwards during heavy winds.
The canopy collects a sizable amount of water during rainstorms and has to be manually extracted. I have had some luck with heavy duty spring loaded clips on the canopy & rail during storms, provided there was no big wind gusts. The clips on the outside of the canopy pulled the material taunt enough to allow the rain to run off instead of pool.
My gazebo is weighed down with 150 lbs on all 4 corners. I stacked 5/30 lb decorative concrete stepping stones in each corner - and used parts from my old gazebo to create a crossbar at the base - in order to utilize the weights.
I believe the pooling of rain water occurs because the Tivoli has only 4 instead of 8 poles at the top. Gazebos I have had with 8 poles never had those issues. I agree that the grommets are useless for draining the pooled rain on the canopy.
I plan to repair the ripped canopy, but thought it best to get a replacement while they are still available. I plan to repair the hole with an inside patch and additional stitching. I also will add more velcro straps, to balance the stress.
One idea I plan to try is to use oversized buttons for all the canopy grommets. Run cord through the button holes from the outside and tie cord to the bar inside. It may help balance the stressload on the velcro and the button covering the grommet should keep the stress balanced at the grommet seam.
I should add that I live in a suburb with strong cross winds, and this gazebo was erected on a concrete patio slab up against the house. I have 2x4s securing the base. 3-10' on the outside and 3-8' boards on the inside. Keeps possum out of the gazebo and gives it a screened in patio appearance and feel.
One annoyance I have found regarding spare parts: all the spare -canvas- parts I purchased for this gazebo are not the original beige color! They are a cross between brown and military green. Wassup with that?!
Good luck with your inexpensive gazebo!!

Replacement different color than original

Bought the gazebo in spring of '09. Wanted to buy backup replacement canopy at the same time, since I know from past experience that the canopy will need to be replaced before the structure and the same one is unlikely to be available in future seasons. Canopy was on back-order but I purchased it upon receiving notification that it was available. It arrived in a different, darker, color from the original which will not match the fabric on the existing mosquito netting. Could now try and order replacement mosquito netting but the combined price of the netting and the canopy is almost as much as replacing the entire gazebo and there's no guarantee that it'd arrive in the same dark color as the replacement canopy.

We purchased this gazebo to replace our old Coolaroo gazebo which after 5 yrs blew away as we were trying to fasten it down on our deck. The Tivoli is a very nice gazebo and comes with the mosquito netting that you can zip up all around. We also purchased the sunshade. This gazebo is perfect for someone who lives in town and has neighbors all around to act as a windbreak. We live in the country and do not have any nearby neighbors or tall trees to protect us against the high winds. My husband has had to fasten it down on the deck with huge screws and we will see how it holds up against the elements.

I ordered two of these to extend the life of my gazebo. I hope they are available in the future. It's a shame to buy an entire new gazebo because it needs a new cover.

I should have went with my gut instinct on this gazebo the moment I saw the price but I thought I would give it a chance. Bad idea! This gazebo is so light and cheap within 2 days of putting it up, it caught a draft and blasted off across my yard like a rocket ship! Stakes and all, it sailed across my yard and came to a stop smashing into my neighbors garage in a heap of twisted metal. I would not recommend this gazebo.

Canopy holds too much water

This is a nice looking, nice built gazebo. The canopy, however, leaves a lot to be desired. When it rains, the water pools on every side. If the canopy is not lifed to unload he water, it will collapse. So every time it rains, you need to make sure you are home to get rid of the water so it does not collapse. They do have a tab on each side, at least three are needed to hold the canopy taught enough so water does not pool. I would not recommend this product. The instructions, also, were written so much more complicated than they had to be.

we like the gazebo but the canopy needs some work to be effective with rain.
water pools on four sides and we have to manually take like a noodle and dump the rain..
i wish there were a solution to help this, i did however buy an extra canopy in the event our Florida weather ripped it to shreads.
it does look nice on our pool deck and we bought the sunshade to use with it, it works like a dream blocking the afternoon sun.

This canopy fits better and seems stronger than the original one, which lasted three years. I will be very
satisfied if I get the same service from this one.
