Pros: Price, easy to assemble, easy to repack for an upcoming move.

Cons: The bendable arms droop with CFB bulbs (heavier than traditional bulbs). Also, the shades are shorter than the CFB (bulb peeks out 3/4 inch). Lamp isn't as tall as I would've hoped. It's not a well-made lamp, but w/in expectation.

My guess is that the other reviewer had a faulty lamp. I don't know how many years I've had this lamp but I love it. This week I just started using those efficiency "fluorescent white" bulbs with the lamp and wow! What ambiance I get -- and I only have two bulbs turned on right now (although it's possible that my off-white walls help). I'm actually on this site because I want to get another one for the bedroom and I couldn't remember where I got the lamp. I just took a guess that it was Target. Oh, one more great thing - I don't have to change those darn ceiling lights anymore (although I do have clean out the bugs from the lamp).

I bought this lamp to help light a large basement. It sits behind my desk, where no children or pets can get to it.
I have had NONE of the electrical problems listed.

I have had HUGE physical issues with it. The lamp NEVER stood straight. It has always leaned one way or the other. This leaning finally led to the lamp seperating from the base from the bolt rings splitting from the weight.
I will not be replacing it with similar.

i read other reviews and wasn't sure if i should buy this lamp but still gave it a try. Took me a few minutes to set up and all the lights worked. It gave a lot of light and i used 23W energy saving bulbs but light as 100w for each so it's very bright. Make sure you do not use >60w for each bulb. The shade doesn't look expensive but it's a cute lamp for casual family room and goes with the white decor around it in my house. Happy with it.

Also for those who plugged in and only found two or three worked, make sure you turn the switch for a few times. Mine was like that initially too.

...but only one light worked when I plugged it in, after removing all the bulbs and starting over, two lit. After repeating this step, the same two lit again but no others. After trying many different combinations, to no avail, and checking the bulbs to ensure they weren't defective, I've decided to take it back and try another one. I will update this post if Target allows.

I bought this lamp because it gave off a lot of light & was neat the way the gooseneck arms could move around. It is easy to put together, but the 1st lamp I bought would only light up 4 of the 5 lights. I exchanged the 1st lamp for a 2nd one thinking that maybe the 1st light was just faulty. Same problem with the 2nd lamp. Only 4 of the 5 lightbulbs would work. Don't worry, I checked the lightbults & they worked fine in my other lamp. THIS LAMP IS CHEAP - STEER CLEAR & FIND SOMETHING ELSE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

I bought this lamp March 1st 2009 and it never worked. I plugged it in and it blows the circuit whenever all lights are turned on. I even have the low-watt efficient light bulbs in, so all of the light bulbs are even using less power than traditional light bulbs but the circuit still blew. I even plugged it up in a different plug then later at a different house and the same thing still happens. I exchanged it, hoping that a new one would fix the problem...nope, same thing happened.
