I love this lamp. I've actually had it for about 2 years. The tripod legs are a nice feature for a modern look. The shade is just amber enough to not be "gold". It has 2 separate pull chains so you can use one side at a time or both lights together. I added dimmers for an ambient effect. The nice amber glow is warm and welcoming. Turn it up to higher brightness and it's a functional reading lamp as well. Excellent purchase! I think I'l get another one and have a matching set...

I purchased this lamp and was initially very pleased with it; it was not too hard to put together, it was nice-looking, threw ample light, and really fit the space I purchased it for. But just over 3 months after I bought the lamp, it simply "went out" on me. No shorting or anything beforehand--the light from both bulbs just went out. I plugged the lamp into a different socket. I changed the bulbs. I took the lamp apart and rebuilt it. Still no light. When I called target.com, I talked to a very nice, and very apologetic representative who kindly told me that because it was past target.com's 90-day window, target.com could do little or nothing for me. (It was *12 days* past the 90 day window when the lamp stopped working and I made my call.) He offered me about 1/8 of what I paid for it to get the lamp repaired. This lamp failed for no apparent reason shortly after I purchased it; to make matters worse, target.com failed to respond in an adequate or fair manner to resolve the matter.

love the lampshade, nice raw silk-like material, and the color is a nice apricot/gold. but its crooked! it makes it look so cheap. not sure if i'll keep it since it doesn't feel very stable on its tripod legs. it was easy to assemble, and its very bright if you turn both light bulbs on. i do wish it was taller though, i'm 5'6" and i can see over the shade into the light bulbs.

i received this item expeditiously and really liked the looks of it although the shade is much bigger than it looks. i could not put it together because either they sent the wrong parts or the parts were defective. you are supposed to screw the bottom leg to the top tube. unfortunately both end parts had screws but no hollow tube to place it in. what a dissappointment. now i have to drag it back to the store and it came in a big box!

As with earlier reviews, the top was crooked. I had to dissasemble the main housing bulb to get at a long bolt and nut to extend the bolt and tighten the nut so it would reach the base to get tightened there with another bolt. It is now stable and sturdy. It is very bright even w/ CFL bulbs. The shade is big, but it is in good proportion to the base. I just wish it were a little taller. Because of the assembly issues, it only gets 4 stars. By the way, mine was packed in crumpled newspapers, no styrofoam balls to deal with.

This lamp is perfect. Wonderful color and I love the texture of the lampshade material which adds dimension. So hip and mod - I have shopped other places looking for a tripod. This price is reasonable and free ship! Really like that it has dual switches for level of lighting in the room. I am thrilled with this purchase

Lamp looks great when its assembled. When I got it I was surprised that the shade material was raw silk-like, as I was expecting it to be more textured cotton/tweed. It gives a lot of light off, which is what I was looking for. Reason I gave 4 stars is because of the packaging-- Looks like a bum packed the delivery box. The lamp arrived in box backed with crumpled newspapers and a bunch of broken styrofoam. I have small white styrofoam balls all over my house, which stick to everything. However, the the lamp was worth the trouble and I love that it looks so urban.

I agree with the other reviewer, the shade is MUCH bigger than it appears in the on line photo. Think of a drum the size of a car tire. Also, the shade is much more red/orange gold than yellow. Otherwise, it is pretty solid and stable, nice funky '60s look. Each light bulb may be turned on/off separately.
