Not a very good product November 23, 2005 Reviewer:  Mom in RWC "KC" See all my reviews >

We bought this for our 8 year old nephew. It is cute and has all the bells and whistles, but you can hardly see the screen, which I thought was an important factor. Also it is not very intuitive at all. My nephew was not interested in it at all and he usually likes working with computers. For these reasons, I do not recommend.

Small screen, lack of volume control, save your money July 25, 2006 Reviewer:  Anony (The City Beautiful)  See all my reviews >

My son has an interest in computers so I thought he might like this Vtech notebook. Well, the screen is very small without much contrast making it hard to see. There is a high/low switch for the volume but the annoying sounds are still waaaay too loud and there is not "OFF" or mute switch for the sound. It has been tossed around and survived but that's about the only redeeming quality this thing has.

The recommended age range on this seems way off, too. It's for ages 5 to 8 years old. Our son is 3 years old and the majority of the activities seem suited to his age rather than an older chld.

Great toy July 6, 2006 Reviewer:  Superdad See all my reviews >

If I had a six year old genius he would be using a real lap top at Yale. I found that this is a great education toy that did help with his math and reading. My son also dropped this product out of his fourth floor bedroom window in our 8,000 sq ft mansion several times and it continued to function just like the first time we used it.

Favorite toy for our son with autism December 4, 2006 Reviewer:  D. Miles Real Name (Missouri)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my son when he was about 13 months old because he loved my computer so much, I thought it would help distract him away from it. It did and it has taught him so many things.

He's 25 months old now and has played with it non-stop since he was 18 months old. He's learned how to use the arrow, number and letter keys, change games when he wants, etc. - it's taught him most of the basic skills for real computer use.

Yes, the screen is small and the graphics are primitive compared to computers of today, but he plays with it almost every day - sometimes for 30-45 minutes. He knows how to play most of the games and it has taught him his numbers in spanish as well as english plus many other useful things.

It's a great toy for the car too.

This laptop has been dropped many times, been slobbered on and had food bits dropped all over it and it's still working perfectly.

I believe it's recommended for kids 5+, but I would definitely say that younger kids would love it too. My sons cousins and friends are always interested in it.

AWFUL January 5, 2007 Reviewer:  Dawn (Texas)  See all my reviews >

Do not purchase this toy. It does not work. My son got one from Santa it worked for less than 2 minutes and quit. Ordered a replacement and the replacement turned on then off and never worked again.. He is so upset.

Luv this Laptop October 1, 2007 Reviewer:  New York Mom "Tonya H" (New York, New York)  See all my reviews >

I bought this Laptop for my daughter 2 years ago when she was 3, she is now going on 6 and she still loves it and still plays with it regularly. It is a very good learning tool for younger children because it has a mouse and a QWERTY keyboard. There are a ton of games and they are very fun.

Loves this! December 4, 2007 Reviewer:  Mom of 2 "Jill" (Boston, MA)  See all my reviews >

My daughter got this for Christmas and absolutely loves it. In fact, she always wants to use this so we may as well take everything else back! : ) She has been very interested in our computer and our laptops so we wanted to get her something of her own. I was a little nervous because she is 3.5 years old and recommended age is 5+, but she has caught on very quickly. I also wasn't sure if she would like this given that she has been able to use our 'real' laptops for awhile and this one is obviously more basic (no color, etc) but she loves it and has not asked to go back to using our laptop since she got this.

Highly recommend for any child who has shown an interest in using the computer!

Disappointed April 19, 2006 Reviewer:  Happy Sister See all my reviews >

THis product is horrible. I bought it for my six year old genius and she threw it out the window. It's not very durable and didn't teach her anything.
