My 3 1/2 year old daughter was interested in the toy. She laughed a lot. She preferred to use the motion control vs. the joystick.
She played 3 games, the race car game, the bouncy ball game and the bobsled game.
What she loved most was catching the stars, she did best at catching the stars in the race car game. It seemed that her favorite game was the bouncy ball game. Each time a new ball appeared on the screen she would say what color it was and then move the controller in the correct direction. Her reaction was a little off, but she did really good. The bobsled game did not seem to interest her.
The game was easy to set up, I expected it to come with the 9volt power source, but did not, I eventually figured out this is what the double A batteries were for. There is a plug for a power source, just didn't come with one.
But setup is easy, just plugs into the tv and turn on. It was easy for me to navitagate through the screens and pick a game, but for my 3 1/2 year old, not so much. I'm sure with time she'll be a pro at finding which game she would like to play.
I think this is a great easy, no hassle video game for little ones. I look forward to trying other games/modules. I'm sure with time my daughter will get better at maneuvring around. It really seems like this will also fine tine her motor skills and reaction time.

First off, this is completely 100% compatible with the Vsmile games. You can even use the Vsmile corded accessories (mat, art center and controllers) - with this system, basically it is a wireless version - the only difference with the MOTION games versus the Vsmile games is the Motion controller with the Motion games can use the Wii-like motion sensitive controls, when using the Vsmile games with this Motion controller, the kids just use the joystick and buttons instead of motion. The Motion games are also playable on the Vsmile Pocket portable players as well.
The games are somewhat simple compared to Nintendo quality but a far improvement from the Atari generation. Educational but VERY fun and the popular characters are a huge hit. I have 4yr old twin boys and a 5yr old girl and they all have enjoyed the Vsmile system for 2yrs now. Granted we have experienced cord shortage problems with the wall adapter, but otherwise NO problems. Durable - kid tough - and lots of fun.

Rugged System - OK Playability

The games that came with the system are very simple. My 5 year old played for a while, but soon lost interest because the games became boring and unchallenging quickly. (She would play Nintendo Wii for hours if allowed.) My 33 month old however should get lots of use from these games. The graphics were a little uninteresting to her. I also purchased the Wonder Pets game. This was a little more entertaining for her. When she is a little older and able to play without my help, she probably will really like playing games with her big sister.
Overall I like the idea of the system, particularly the ruggedness so small kids can use the system without breaking it and the wireless motion control option. I hope other games that we purchase are more entertaining and engaging. So far, the actual games fail to keep us interested in playing.

We bought this for our 3 yr old daughter & 6 yr old son.
First the pros: Convinient storage, easy hookup, comtrollers are durable, right hand & left hand accessable, compact, can run on batteries or on a power pack.
Now for the cons: poor graphics, limited choice of games, the motion dectection is delayed, the racing game (included) is difficult to play, doesnt have skid-resistant feet, the games are overly priced for the gaming capacity they offer, the controller is too cumbersome for tiny hands (my 3 yr old has a hard time moving the joystick)
Overall it is a good concept, v-tech has thier heart in the right place. As with anything new there is always room for improvement. I will be returning this to the store, but will keep an eye open for an updated model.

This game system looked great on TV, almost portayed a "toddler Wii." The graphics on this game system were horrible. I compared it to Mario Brothers on Nintendo. I returned it the next day along with all of the games. My son plays Nick Jr games on the computer and that blows this system away, educationally, and graphics wise. very dissapointed.

I can't believe how many bad reviews this game had. I actually never had any problems with it. And my 3 yr old is very rough with his toys. Although he had dropped the controller quite a few times, it never did break or had mal functions! I was very happy because thanks to this game, he now knows how to write, is reading entry level and now he is ready for Pre-K. I absolutely recommended it to my friends with toddlers.! Sorry for all those who had bad experiences with it!

We were so excited to give this to our 3 and 4 year olds for Christmas. We thought that it was like a childrens version of Wii. The ads were misleading, showing 2 children playing together with 2 joysticks, jumping around having fun. We bought an extra one thinking that we needed it for 2 player games. Not right. The graphics stink and our kids have not played with it at all. We are returning it and getting a Wii instead. I did call for help thinking that we were missing something for the 2 player setting. I was told that the company does not encourage "competition" and that they need to learn to take turns, even with the 2 player setting...it is really a "take your turn setting". She was rude, and not helpful at all. I would not recommend this toy at all.

This game is awsome, my 2 and half year old daughter loves this game system!! If half the people writing these reviews did any research it says that on bigger tv's the graphic quality is not the best it works better on smaller televisions. Yes, they only have 9 v motion games at the moment but all the v smile and v tech games work with the system as well. And those games and offered at a much lower price as well as more variety. Over all this is a very educational game system that will grow with my two year old.

The commercial for this system is misleading. The graphics are terrible and only half or so of the minigames on each disc are really educational. The motion controller is a gimmick - my son does much better using the regular joystick controller.
While my 3 year-old did enjoy it for a week or two, you could buy one of those [price] joysticks that plug right into the TV and get the same quality.
For a [price] system and [price] games, I expected MUCH better!
