Target Purchasing Department should cancel the order for this useless item. It may cause parents to neglect or misdiagnose their babies' cries.
Does not even rate one star, but it wouldn't post otherwise.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

It's ridiculous to assume that a product can analyse a crying baby and determine what it's thinking.
Babies cry for a myriad of reasons. Please note that this product does not determine when a baby is crying due to DISTRESS (which is completely different from 'stress') or ILLNESS.
Please, do your newborn a huge favour and stay away from this absolutely dangerous product.

Please refuse to further offer this dangerous item for sale to the public. What is going to be next? Are we going to see "Baby Aura Detector"? How about the "Baby's Room Spirit Detection Kit". As you know it's always wise to get to the bottom of a haunting right away. Five Settings for Spirit detection including: Casper, Poltergeist, Demon, Devil, and Deity. Don't you want to know if an immediate call to an exorcist is necessary? Wait, this might sell well along the belt.

A waste of money

This gimmick is a sham and waste of money at best, and a danger to your child at worst.
Parents have successfully cared for infants for thousands of years without needing a "crying analyzer". Save your money and buy some educational toys instead.

Five reasons a baby cries? What about: they are wet, they are sick, they are cold, they are hot, etc, etc. etc.
Target should not sell this useless waste of batteries.
Please parents, do not fall for this....

I would like to hear from anyone who actually has bought this item. I couldn't tell from the reviews if they were all just opinions or actual experience with the product. I have have given it one star only because I haven't seen it nor used it. It sounds silly yes, but if you are desperate maybe it could give you a bit of a clue.

Yes, I admit this sounds crazy. But, I was watching the early show and they had a lady showing new products for babies that they liked. Well, this was one of them. They said it had a 85 percent accuracy rating, so yes, I am like you, skeptical, but, on the Early show, with such a high rating. Has me curious myself.

Myself included. Admins, I'd love to see you delete this and other postings from people who haven't actually tried the product.
I can tell you, though, if this works it is a godsend to many. It was built by a parent, who understands that sometimes a new parent isn't always positive that their instinct is right. Sometimes it would be nice to have an objective, non-sleep-deprived, non-emotionally influenced, non-panicked opinion to weigh in with.
People aren't stupid. No intelligent person would ignore their baby's needs just because they don't appear on a machine's readout. Throw out your TV because it means you'll never talk to your child. Junk the baby monitor, because you won't go into the room unless they're crying. Ditch the formula, because even a taste will make your baby know he/she isn't loved enough.
C'mon, folks. Use some sense. If it doesn't work, I'd love to know. If you just don't like the concept please don't post uninformed reviews.

Here's a novel idea. JUST PICK UP THE BABY! Who cares WHY they're crying? It even has a mount to put it in the crib?...If you have to go IN their room to read it, don't you think they will see you and REALLY cry to be picked up and loved then? What's wrong with today's parents that think their baby needs a really good reason to be taken care of? "You can't feed them b/c it hasn't been long enough, they shouldn't be tire b/c they just woke up." Give me a break! I bet all these people that would really buy and use this piece of junk follow Ferber and read babywise.
