Living in California you got to have one of these. It is a smooth ride. It isn't called a cruiser for nothing...it is great for cruising/coasting! It is easy to handle and you don't have to 'hunch' over to control it. You are straight up and can enjoy the view. Best money spent.

I almost didn't buy this bike because I just glanced at the ratings, but then I looked closer at what people were saying. I'm glad that I didn't pay attention to the complaints here. I'm very happy with my bike.
There is no doubt that the "service (i.e. assembly, shipping)" is subpar; however, the bike itself is as promised.
Also, a little reality check is needed. This is not a highend bike. It is a very inexpensive, entry-level cycle, but it will probably last you forever, if maintained properly.
Furthermore, there are a lot of different body types, thus there are a lot of different bikes. Each bike allows for seat adjustments, reach, etc. to make some accomodations, but you have to realize that YOU chose this bike, the bike didn't choose you. That said, I am 5' 0" and this bike works well for me. I don't even have the seat on the lowest setting. That makes me think that a taller person might not find this a comfortable ride, so be certain to try the bike out before you buy it. Buying online will not guarantee a good fit, so if it doesn't fit your body type well, explain why in your reviews (that is helpful), but don't just bash the bike because your angry. Your ratings influence buyers, so please don't be irresponsible with your words. Also, don't use this site to complain about the service. This is not the proper forum for that. Call Target directly or email your complaints.
Also, if it is assembled at a Target store, you MUST do your own checking to make certain the bike is assembled right(or have a bike shop do it). I had to tighten about 70% of the bike's parts. Was this fair? No, but the assembly was free and, not knocking all bike assemblers, I've known a few myself and these guys/gals are not professional bicycle technicians. I'm disappointed that the bike didn't roll out of the store 100% perfect, but such is life. Now,if I PAID for the assembly, then I would complain as loud as the next guy, just not on this PRODUCT review section.
In summary, this is a good solid bike for the money. I hope it works out for you.
Happy trails to you all.

I bought my wife this bike. She likes the bike. I had to bring it to a bike shop to do a tune-up and it rides perfect. Since I own a Trek road bike getting a tune-up is no big deal. I am glad that this bike has multi speeds because most do not. I have owned Schwinn bikes before and they have served me well.

Purchased the ladies version of this bike a few days ago, and LOVE IT. The ride is very comfortable, and I'm an middle-age-woman who hasn't ridden for several years. My husband also purchased the men's version. The only nit, is that they were not put together well from the store, and we have had to take them back for adjustments - mainly the 7-gears not shifting correctly. I would imagine just about any bike purchased would need adjustments unless you purchase from a specialty store where they fit the bike to you! However, for cruising around, getting exercise, these are a great value... comfortable and feel safe on them. We rode about 12 miles this past week-end without any soreness or achiness, and plan to work these into daily routines! I did purchase a gel-seat cover for my bike, a nice to have!

I've had the same mountain bike for nearly 17 years and decided to try something a little different for short commutes and leisure rides. How I'm really glad I got this bike!
PROS: Unlike on the mountain bike, I sit completely upright on this cruiser - I can see everything! This has allowed me to take some pressure off my arms. Also, the handlebars are close to my waist. As a woman with a disability (Erb's palsy in the right arm) this has been a really invaluable feature for both comfort and safety. I was also able to install a rear rack and folding side basket with no problems. Does great on moderate hills.
CONS: (There are a few) As with many store-assembled bikes, my bike needs a slight gear adjustment. Shifting down is difficult and may need a tension adjustment. This bike isn't recommended for steep hills, as there are only 7 gears; and standing on the pedals for momentum is near impossible with the handlebar placement.
Overall I'm quite pleased with this Schwinn and recommend it for anyone looking for a simple bike for pleasure rides!

I picked this up in the store the other day and I have to say that even though it took some time to get used to balancing with the handlebars as wide as they are I love it.
I had to do a little bit of maintenance work on it when I got it home that I felt I shouldn't have had to do, though; the derailleur wasn't tensioned nearly tight enough, which was robbing me of the top two gears. Luckily I was able to use a combination of science and the internet to figure out what I needed to do to fix it, but anyone who has this bike put together in the store should have a friend who is familiar with bikes take a look at it before they ride it.

I love it, it is comfortable, and it comes with a "fat [...]" seat. Easy to handle and looks good too! The handle bars are a little big, but they are still fine! I have not been a bike in at least 8 years, and have wanted to get one. I was going to go cheap but read the reviews and changed my mind when I saw this bike!

I wanted an easy bike to ride, but it had to be comfortable, nice looking, and not expensive, since I was not certain how often it would be used. I am 5'3" and my 1st and last bike 20 yrs ago was too big, and when I braked, I always felt like I had a long way to fall. It's the perfect size for me, and very comfortable. Sitting in a more upright position allowed me to feel less nervous about riding. This bike was very easy to handle. I have never felt confident with bike riding, but in just a few rounds in an empty parking lot, I was able to get the feel of how easy it was to shift gears and brake smoothly. I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone who never really rode bikes growing up, but wants to start joining their kids on family rides now. Also, the bike looks much better up close than in the picture .

I love this bike. I wanted a cruiser style bike, but like having the 7 speeds which help a great deal with the hills. It's a very comfortable ride and seems to be a solidly built bike. Shifting is smooth and easy with the twist grip. The ride is quite smooth even on dirt paths. Planning on outfitting it with whitewalls, a rear rack and a basket for even more of a "cruiser" look. Defintitely a fun bike to have and at $120(on sale) ~ a very good deal.
