My husband & I spent 30-45 minutes trying to put this up, and we followed the directions exactly as written. After putting the bracket onto the wall (seven screws and all), we repeatedly tried to mount the shelf onto the bracket. We spent a very long time trying to get it to stay up. After it finally stayed, it would bounce and move whenever we touched it. The directions say it will hold up to 15lbs. There is absolutely no way this is possible. It barely stayed on the wall with nothing on it.

We decided to take it down and return it. Once we removed everything from the wall, we were left with 7 very large holes in the wall, and numerous black marks from trying to get the shelf on the bracket. My husband literally just coated the holes with a second coat of plaster. Tomorrow we'll be repainting the wall, which was just painted 45 days ago. I'll also be bringing the shelf back to Target, and not only asking for my money back, but a gift card for all the destruction as well.

While I normally love Target's items, this shelf is truly worthless.

It is so heavy that it's titled on the wall... we followed instructions and the thing is just so heavy that it weights it down. we are not happy with it.

Wish I had seen these revies before I purchased this item in the store. We had the same problem as the others. We followed the directions and were unable to get the shelf to "hang" on the bracket.

It is an unsafe item, particularly if you have young children as whatever you put on the shelf is goign to eventally fall.

Crappy design! Back it goes...

Read what everyone else has said! This shelf does not hold 15lbs, maybe 5lbs. The bracket that comes with it to hang on the wall is very flimsy and barely holds the weight of the shelf, let alone something on it! Not to mention that while trying to get the shelf on the wall, black marks covered and ruined my wall

My husband and I just spent the last hour trying to hang this shelf in our babies room. After we got it up on the wall which is not easy we decided that it was unsafe to have in his room with nothing on it at all. If this shelf is touched it will fall off the wall. It's not stable and is very cheaply made. I wish we would have read all the reviews before this purchase. It seems like everyone is having the same problem. Target needs to recall this item. We are now headed back to the store to return it and now need to fill the holes and repaint :(
