Great piece but doesn't wear well... June 18, 2007 Reviewer:  Elizabeth A "Elizabeth A" (New York, NY)  See all my reviews >

We've had ours for a little over a year and the wood glue seems to be giving out along the seams of the top part. It has buckled and we've tried re-gluing but it didn't work. Otherwise it was a great piece while it lasted and was very sturdy and looked great in the room.

Misleading description October 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Kate W. See all my reviews >

Actually, the description is an outright lie. It's a great-looking table, but veneered fiberboard, not solid wood.

Still looks great, but lying in a product description is inexcusable.

Not solid pine November 18, 2006 Reviewer:  No local Target (Orangeburg, SC)  See all my reviews >

The product looks fine, but it is not solid pine. It is a particle board, with a pine veneer. Target did offer to pay for the shipping to return it, but I will probably keep it, even though it is not exactly what I anticipated.

Looks GREAT December 29, 2008 Reviewer:  Susan Ovington Real Name (Herndon, VA)  See all my reviews >

I love this trunk. It looks great and is VERY sturdy. There is lots of room inside to store/hide all the extras a family room acquires. There are 2 reasons I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. 1. The directions are almost unreadable. They have been copied so many times that the illustrations are so faint you can't make out anything on the picture. 2. One of the legs arrived cracked and I haven't received a response from the company about a replacement.

BAD October 11, 2008 Reviewer:  Betty See all my reviews >

I am so disappointed after purchasing this product that my taste-buds are overwhelmed by the ANGER resonating from my upset gut. Missing pieces, miss-drilled holes, low quality finish, a top that will not shut. what a mistake! I would rather eat liverwurst than attempt to assemble this flimsy piece of recycled trash again. I would rather go hunting with [......] than risk having to suffer through the disappointment of knowing that I have wasted my hard-earned money on this "product" in these times of economic peril.

Not what I expected June 17, 2007 Reviewer:  love to shop (Alexandria, VA United States)  See all my reviews >

I was very excited to receive my coffee table, but when it arrived 2 pieces were damaged. Replacement pieces came quickly, but in the wrong color. Once I had the correct pieces, I went to put the table together and the metal latch did not match up and the inside hinge was bent. Overall, it took me about 3 weeks to get all the pieces, and by then my excitement for a new table was gone. This was a very disappointing process.

Consider the following cautions! November 23, 2008 Reviewer:  dunkie (Manhattan Beach)  See all my reviews >

Cons: NOT solid wood, some veneer lifting. Strongly recommend using glue in addition to the hardware when attaching the legs as they tend to break off if you drag the chest when moving it. I bought it from Overstock (same $) & there was much feedback there about the feet breaking off. Though it took me a while ;-), I finally did break off a leg (used Gorilla glue when reattaching).

Pros: Good classic oak color if you are working with better pieces of Mission furniture. Lots of storage. I use it as a cocktail table (good for smaller/narrower spaces) and store games in it.

Bottom line: definitely bang for buck & I will do some sort of creative paint refinishing if the veneer lifts too much.

Great look at a fair price October 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Super Shopper "Kori B." (San Jose, CA)  See all my reviews >

I have had my table for about 2 weeks now. It was fairly easy to put together. The directions were very easy to follow. However I am not super happy about the quality of the finish. Up close it is obvious that it is a wood veneer and not a solid wood piece. It seems to scratch VERY easily. However I have found it to be an excellent storage solution for the mountain of DVD's I have collected over the years.

Sturdy and beautiful March 26, 2009 Reviewer:  Fluffomatic (USA)  See all my reviews >

I guess I received a good one. It IS very heavy, it was a little difficult to put together by myself (but I did!) and it has held up like a champ. I've had this piece for about 2 years now. It is still in excellent shape and we have NOT been kind to it. It's our coffee table/extra storage and has withstood parties with people sitting all over it, my husband-to-be's workboots propped on it (I hate that!), a teething and hyperactive Boxer puppy, 2 cats, 3 moves, food and drink spills, and the list goes on. Solid as a rock! Even the finish still looks great. Worth every penny and more.

Not the best quality... February 13, 2009 Reviewer:  Charity Girl (Cambridge, MA)  See all my reviews >

It works as intended but the laminate started peeling off almost immediately exposing the particle board underneath. I wouldn't recommend this table.
