I was pleasantly surprised after assembling this item (took 10 min. max.). Usually I lower my expectations for "assembly required", however, the base is weighted which makes the rack much sturdier than you think. The lower hooks are great for kids' coats. I am happy with this purchase, and for $40, it's a good deal!

After an entire weekend online, pouring over all the various types of coat racks, I decided on this reasonably priced and attractive piece. The round weighted base is what prompted me to purchase this coat tree versus the other models that have 3 prong-like legs. Another feature that was important was the additional hooks in the middle of the pole. It was easy to assemble and didn't take long at all. I have to agree with the other reviewer in stating that it does not appear to be "Wrought Iron" as labeled. It is metal with a black finish, which I am actually happier with since I was searching for a black finish giving a more contemporary look. I can't really say if it holds coats well, as I am using it to hang up all my tote bags, canvas bags, messenger bags, etc. With the current move towards banning plastic bags, and progressively accumulating many more different "green" bags, I felt this coat rack could
serve a different purpose ;-)

I love this rack. It shipped super fast and I got it 2 days after I ordered it. It was VERY easy to assemble and is very sturdy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone! Great product for great price!

I have been looking for a Tree Coat Rack for months, but everywhere else I have looked they have been 200.00+. So when I saw this one for [such a low price] I had to buy it. It took maybe 5 min to put together and is weighted on the base. I have 6 coats on it now and its still standing, and not tipping! Looks great and does the trick! Thanks TARGET for another inexpensive great product!

Very delighted with my purchase at first. However, I soon realized that because the section where the pole is screwed into the base is short, the rack can become unstable as it appears the pole does not have enough length going into the base to keep it stable.

I've been quite happy with this coat rack. I haven't treated it particularly nicely, but it's held up well and hasn't ever toppled over, in spite of the fact that I've never been careful about distributing the coats on it evenly. As other reviewers have noted, it's certainly not actually made of wrought iron, but the finish is nice enough, especially for the price.

Everyone else seems to have made out better than me. Not only was the box short parts, all 3 middle level hooks, the pole is also crooked after assembled. It tilts to one side. I should have spent the extra money and gotten a nice one-piece wooden one.

I should have known better, but was hoping this piece came assembled. I didn't see anywhere on the website where it said I'd have to put it together. However, it does require some. Nothing too complicated, but I am a girl. I can make anything requiring a screw driver difficult. Overall, decent piece for the price.

Our family of 6 fit all coats and snowpants here. It didn't fall once all winter. However, it "leans" just a little as it is actually two poles instead of one solid one. So, I just try to balance the coats. The low hooks are great for the kids. I do agree with others that it doesn't look wrought iron but is metal painted black. Looks good though and still looks new after one winter.
