Zyliss designs are great! (Did you ever try their garlic press? It's the only one that works really well.) The cheese grater is based on an Italian design that was so ubiquitous for grating parmesan over a plate of pasta, that it became known by the manufacturer's name...a "Mouli". Moulis were all metal. This improves on the design with a metal grater but the rest being well-fitted together plastic.
And it disassembles well for washing.
I really like it.

This is a great idea but the reason I got it is because I have arthritis. Very diffucult to handle.
