Great booster seat the design is perfect when other car seats are in car as well... For all those concerned with their child falling out this is a YOUTH booster seat and it says that right on the front!! This booster seat works great for us.
My son is 7 years, 70 lbs, and 4'1. We have been using this booster for almost 6 months and in several cars. It is plenty big enough in the hips for him while being surprisingly narrow overall. Very easy to move from car to car. It has fit every car I have put it in well and has never been the least bit tippy in our experience.
I have a [...] and I have three kids. I was looking for a slim booster for my 5 year old. It seems like a great buy and the reviews are excellent for safety. It's unfortunate that it is so much wider at the top. I am unable to fit all three seats in my car. If you're looking for a small booster, don't buy this one. Otherwise, seems like a fantastic seat. I just wish it worked for us.
We purchased this seat in blue. One week after pruchase while getting into this seat my son actually ROLLED right out of our Yukon XL. The door was open when he got into the seat and while sitting back into the seat, the seat actually rolled like a ball right out of the SUV and my son went face first into the curb. He hit his eye, jaw and head simultaneously while going face first to the curb. An emergency room visit fortunately ruled out a concussion and any fractures. This seat actually flipped him upside down. In my opinion this seat has a design flaw. The width at the bottom of the seat is about 11 inches and the width of the seat at the top is about 17 inches. This design creates an unstable pivot point at the base and a shift of weight will create instability and it will tip over. Beware of this danger while your child is getting into the seat. I will no longer use this seat for my children.
I love this stroller! I love it so much I don't want to use our umbrella strollers for small trips around town like to museums. I was hesitant at first and waited a few months for something in the range of $700 to come up on Craigslist for $200 under because of the non-rubber tires. Now that I have it, it doesn't bother me at all and I wish I had bought this sooner.
It was easy-ish for my husband to put together (although he grumbled about the instructions missing steps or not being specific enough). Once put together it's easy to adjust and use. Bumps could be handled better but I just have to angle the wheels sideways and they work better. Steps are a bit tricky too because I worry that the handle is not solid enough to bear the weight of pushing it down so that the front of the stroller goes up in the air and over a step but so far so good. It does have a nice solid wide base and I thought it was pretty easy to fold. The best thing about it, is that it has all the things I wanted: a high-ish seat (not as high as Uppababy or a Stokke Xplory but definitely higher than most strollers) and rear/front facing options and easy to adjust/use. My son was upset he couldn't see me one day so I put him on the grass midway through our walk and it took 2 seconds for me to flip the seat and have him back in happier!
I think people who complain about the folding aspect are looking for the one button, airport or umbrella type of strollers or have a small car/trunk. If you want something simple to take on the bus or to airport travel with, this is NOT the stroller for you. This stroller is great for those with big car trunks (we have a mini van) to accommodate the wide base or for those who are looking for a solid go to everyday stroller that you leave open and have for neighborhood walks. If you can live with these purposes, then this is the best stroller ever because it has all the bells and whistles that the $1200 strollers I've drooled over have.
After going to 7 targets I finally found this stroller, I heard great things about it and we were in need of a new one.
First putting it together was very easy, but folding it but not so much if your by yourself with baby in arm. The seat part has to come off and will not to connected with the wheels and handle once folded. Thats my only complaint, other wise its a great stroller.
The first two days of owning the Odyssey, it went through the works of the city, public transit, and it held up great!
I would recommend this is everyone, but just be aware of the folding issue.
