We bought it because we tried playing the original game with the kids and the questions were too difficult (for me too!).
My kids loved this game. We played a couple times already. I believe the instructions say you can get a pie piece after every correct answer but we play the traditional way.
My group's impression of the game was that it is just a "watered-down" version of the other trivial pursuit games. The questions are not very challenging for adults, especially when playing it in teams. The "party-edition" features are that one can win a wedge on any spot, one can ask a friend for help, and one merely has to answer six questions correctly to win. The game was finished too quickly and with little excitement. The wedges are not color-oriented, but I only know this from looking at the box; my box was missing wedges. The company could not provide me with the silver wedges that it is supposed to come with. Instead they are sending me the traditional multi-colored wedges (which may make the game more fun, anyway). Overall, the game's price reflects its quality, and I would not recommend this game, despite its value.
