I thought I was purchasing the other Vivitar which was in the [price] range and did not pay attention, it was late at night and I was in a rush. After I fully charging the item, I loaded my brand new Lexar 8GB card and took it for a run. I was in my bathroom which has ample light. I was so disappointed by the playback. It looked snowy at best. I fiddled with the settings and tried again, but to no avail. I needed this originally to record a recital which would have the audience in the dark and mostly intermittent spotlight on the stage. A once in a lifetime event which will not be dulpicated. I ended up using my camera with the new card to capture the event. A last minute decision that if I had more money two nights ago, would not have been an issue. Do not settle on the less expensive unless you know what the outcome of the purchase will be. You get what you pay for.
zoom in past 1.0 which is the least amount of zoom and it is cell phone quality whenever zooming in or turning on the flash it makes a loud click which deafens the voices of people if youre recording for youtube or something like that so overall its a horrible produt now i know the product in the picture is different then the product said so im reviewing on the one in the picture
Bought this as a backup for my Canon;
Frustrating to use: touch screen is difficult -- need to tap icons multiple times before they register; not easy to target selection, keep hitting the item above or below; sliding to scroll thru selections is iffy. Screen is useless in sunlight, difficult to see what you're aiming at.
Also - images seemed to have a blue cast to them, altho I have not yet looked at them on the computer.
Technology is intriguing but not there yet.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
This is a KIDS TOY. Do not buy it for Adult use. Very compact. The 1.5" LCD is poor, Light sensitivity poor. Menu is on screen and takes some tweeking to get where you are going. Zoom is jerky, Video has no Zoom. I cannot believe there is a HD function with this Quality camera! Highest SD card is 16 MB. This is going back to store...
