I saw this movie in theaters and it was very funny. It is way better than the first movie, by far. The characters are hilarious and fit in the movie wonderfully. While there are glaring differences from the book, who pays attention to that anymore? It's been happening the whole time. As an entity separate from the book, The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 completely lives up to the standards that have been set by the previous flicks. Now I have never seen the original Star Trek but this movie for me was amazing to the point where I would want to watch the original series. Of course the effects are what we all expect from a sci-fi movie and the acting let us veer into other aspects from the actors than what we may have not seen as audiences from previous works. The Target-exclusive edition is super cool but since I pre-ordered mine at $... I missed out on the collectable case, but I feel it was worth the deal to pre-order on Target.com. see less

This movie is excellent. It chronicles the maiden voyage of the Enterprise and the first meeting of her crew. It gives the audience a glimpse of the lives of a young Kirk and Spock, as well as the trials they each have to deal with. The effects of the movie are fantastic. Abrams did a great job. If you are, or know a Star Trek fan, or just want to see a good movie, pick this dvd up. You won't be disappointed. see less

My 5 year old girl and my 3 year old girl both love this movie. Not only the story is engaging, but it shows consequences in a way that is effective without being scary. The characters of the movie learn the value of exercise and the consequence of just sitting in comfy chairs all day staring at a screen. The characters learn that you can't give up even when things look really bad. The characters learn that carelessly producing mountains of trash hurts the planet. And the characters learn that rather than go on auto-pilot, they need to actively make decisions and work to make things better. And my kids are internalizing those lessons alongside the characters. My older girl is asking all sorts of questions that shows that she is understanding the message of the movie. They also find Wall-e and EVE cute and pretend to be them. see less

Best of the Harry Potter Movies since the very first movie (Sorcerer's Stone)! Excellent on Blue Ray, especially on a wide screen TV! I highly recommend it to fans of the series who somehow missed this one, or who haven't actually purchased it yet! see less

My only issue is that it doesn't come with part two.[...] I know that they didn't make it yet, but I still believe that it should contain both parts of the movie if they are going to put it out for sale. I bought the Blue ray/DVD/Digital copy. It is the best value for money and although I do not have the blue ray yet I will have the ability to watch Harry Potter when I do.This is really great movie although the book will always outweigh the movies ANY day! Sorry but too much detail is lost but still a great movie packed with adventure but it is enjoyable to see the characters come to life. Harry, Ron and Hermoine are more grown up than previous so the content is not as lighthearted as in previous films. Some sad portions and Voldemort is getting a lot more active in more evil ways which takes the film in a more sinister fashion. So strongly consider watching before you allow young children to watch and would not think it good depending on the ages. I hope this helps anyone deciding to buy it. see less

Am old enough (60's+) to have seen all of the Star Wars movies in the theater, and as a long time stereo/ video enthusiast have purchased the product in VHS, Laser Disc (remember the old LP sized laser discs?), and in DVD's as the newer and better formats appeared. Having a high end sound system combined with a high definition television, there are few films more suited for the new Blu Ray format than George Lucas' Star Wars series. Hopefully the time will be taken when converting to digital to bring the older format into the Blu Ray high def, 5.1 or 7.1, THX mastered, Dolby DTS HD etc. standards; and knowing George Lucas' high standards, this should be worth the wait. see less

Keeping in mind that this series was originally for teens, I did not expect it to be a power hitter like some adult-based movies along the same subject matter. I will say, however, that despite it being so hyped by people when it first hit theaters, I found it to be a good story. It was satisfying, but left me with the feeling that it could have been a little more. The actress that played the role of Katniss is indeed talented and has a future ahead of her. Some people may find the "violence" disturbing, but it is not graphic nor gratuitous as it does serve a purpose in the storyline. If you want features, get the S.E. BluRay. All-in-all a good film worth checking out. see less
