Keeping in mind that this series was originally for teens, I did not expect it to be a power hitter like some adult-based movies along the same subject matter. I will say, however, that despite it being so hyped by people when it first hit theaters, I found it to be a good story. It was satisfying, but left me with the feeling that it could have been a little more. The actress that played the role of Katniss is indeed talented and has a future ahead of her. Some people may find the "violence" disturbing, but it is not graphic nor gratuitous as it does serve a purpose in the storyline. If you want features, get the S.E. BluRay. All-in-all a good film worth checking out. see less

Was extremely disappointed with this film. after 2 SUPERB movies that preceded this one, maybe had too high of expectations?? But the story dragged at many points, the story itself wasn't cohesive compared to the rest of the films, and the acting overall seemed forced. This film was one of those prime examples of studios releasing a movie simply because they HAVE/WANT to...not because they have a good story for it.This ruined the series for me. I'd suggest watching the first two and stopping there. see less

This was a great movie. My 3yr old loved it. The color was beautiful, the storyline was good, and the graphics were awesome. I recommend this to anyone who has a child, or who is young at heart and loves fairies. see less

Am old enough (60's+) to have seen all of the Star Wars movies in the theater, and as a long time stereo/ video enthusiast have purchased the product in VHS, Laser Disc (remember the old LP sized laser discs?), and in DVD's as the newer and better formats appeared. Having a high end sound system combined with a high definition television, there are few films more suited for the new Blu Ray format than George Lucas' Star Wars series. Hopefully the time will be taken when converting to digital to bring the older format into the Blu Ray high def, 5.1 or 7.1, THX mastered, Dolby DTS HD etc. standards; and knowing George Lucas' high standards, this should be worth the wait. see less

First off, whoever made that first review stating that the films wern't made in 1080p....shame on you. 7 discs is just enough for this set for the blus have so much information on them that it runs to the edge! The amount of bonus features in this set is just staggering. every single documentary, feature, deleted scene is here. it will take you a few weeks just to get through the bonus alone. PQ is stunning with a nice layer of film grain, but overall no problems picture wise. Reference quality. AQ is just as impressive, if not more. if you have a 5.1 set up, get ready to shake your house. overall, this is a great set for Matrix fans. if you are only a fan of the first film, i suggest just picking up the stand alone release of the film. 4.5/5 see less

Why in the world would anyone want to buy a Blu-Ray set that comes with 7 discs!!!!Count 'em--- 7!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. The whole entire point of Blu-Ray is huge HD capacity!All three movies should be on one disc, end of story. The movie wasn't made in 1080p, so the files can't be that large, right (correct me if I am wrong)?I've been waiting and waiting for the day when I could buy complete sets that came on one disc, and yet all the studios still ignore this.Why can't I get a South Park full season on 1 blu-ray instead of 4 DVDs.Who wants a lead weight DVD box set!? What a waste of space! see less
