This table is incredible. It's darker than walnut, lighter than mahogany, with a lovely woodgrain. The top is probably a composite--it's a single sheet, with lines routered into it to make it look like it is made of planks. The 'gaps' are pretty shallow, less than a toothpick, but painted dark to look deeper. The finish is lighter in the middle of the planks and edges are slightly distressed. Assembly is super easy--screws are set in the legs, you just insert through pre-drilled holes and add washers & a nut. Everything was straight & well aligned. It took less than 10 minutes to assemble. Took one person to assemble, two to flip upright. It has plastic rounds on the legs to protect a floor, and once upright it was solid as a rock. I also liked that it made my room look larger--so would be great for a small space.
