I bought the baby breeza first and it broke within the first week so I didn't want to buy a new one at first but desired to buy the nuk and LOVE IT I had it for my olded child now ill be using it soon for my youngest it is amazing would for sure recommend this over anything else!! The baby breeza is a waste of money bit this one it is amazing!!!!
I have owned it for about 6 months. I have now used it to make all my little guys meals. He has only had to have store bought baby food twice.
What I LOVE about this machine
I do not have to pull anything extra out to cook with it. I peel, chop and throw in whatever I want to make. I add water depending on the fruit or veggie I add. I press the button, I walk away. In 13-17 mins it beeps. I usually wait to start and have waited up to 30 mins after it beeped to start making baby food, because I was wrapped up with a toddler and an infant, and the food is still steamy and happy when I get to it.
Yes you can do this on a stove top, yes you could use a blender.....BUT this takes up NO real extra room, I do not have to wash pots and pans, or a BLENDER, which I hate trying to wash those. It really is very simple to take the cook-n-blend apart I have not had any trouble cleaning it. Plus you lose nutrients on the stove top. This locks them in and you use the water you cook with to puree.
When I make baby food this is what I use, the basket from the machine, a knife, a measuring cup, a vegetable peeler and a rubber spatula. Everything I have made so far has made 12oz or more, I have a freezer full of ready to eat baby food. I have tasted everything and my toddler LOVED the sweet potato butternut squash mash I made. I pureed the rest and froze it for the baby.
What I didn't like about the machine
It is hard to open at first, but with each use it gets easier.
The water level indicator is very hard to read, I just finally figured out how much water to put in a bottle to get it to the line I need without having to worry. 7oz gets it to the max line, and 5oz gets it to the second line, about 2oz gets it the first.
The book they send with the Nuk Cook-n-Blend is mostly stuff for older babies, not babies in stage one.
But I did find this website more than helpful when shopping for my baby's next meal www.wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com
So far we have made, Sweet Potatoes, Butternut Squash, Sweet Potatoes and Butternut Squash, Carrots, Apples, Pear, Apples and Pears, and Green Beans.
I was a little bit intimidated by making baby food, but this product has made it so easy. It steams and purees, which is so convenient! The basket surprisingly holds a good amount of produce, so I have been able to batch cook. I steamed and pureed a 3 lb. bag of medium size apples and made a little over 1 weeks worth of baby food. Everything that I've made turns our very smooth in consistency. The lid is a little tight and hard to get off at first, but after day 4 it loosened up a good bit. At a little over [$] , this was well worth the money. I am extremely happy with my purchase!
I bought this when I started making my own baby food. I hunted online for something that would store the baby food in the freezer without getting freezer burn. This works out great! It is made out of silicon which makes getting the food out so easy! All you do is squeeze and the food pops out. The lid snaps on with no problems and doesn't leak. Overall very pleased with this product!
Wow ! This is by far an awesome feeding tool for my 6 month old. He's just now starting solids and I make his rice cereal runny and feed stage 2 gerber fruits and veggies in this and it is awesome. I don't have a squirting all over the place problem as I just give a little tap on a napkin and then squeeze. No mess. Cleaning is easy too, I clean as soon as I'm done so it doesn't sit in there. Just add warm water and a tad soap and shake and squirt it all out. Rinse the same way. I can hold my baby in my lap and feed with one hand and napkin on my lap. I have other children and I wish I had one of these when they were babies.
I have both this and the boon brand one and I prefer this one hands down!!! It has more features than the boon. It doesn't roll away, you can see how much is in it, it clicks/locks closed and has an easy to find cap. I'm buying another one of these and throwing my boon one away! I have six kiddos by the way, so I wished this had been around for the first 4. Way to go Munchkin for taking the boon and making it a zillion times better:)
I recently recieved this spoon as a gift and I love it. I am telling all my friends to get one! It makes on the go feedings much easier/less messy! We even have started using it at home. I want to get more! I have seen other brands in stores that require purchase of a specific baby food brand. I like that I can put any babyfood in this spoon. I also love the locking feature for when we are traveling.I did notice that there is a very small amount of food towards the end that is difficult to get out. What I do is tap it towards the end on a napkin *locked of course* then it seems to be fine.[...] Especially compared to the ease of feedings on the go with our 7 month old compared to before the easy squeezy spoon came into our life. For example: We recently went on a trip to the zoo and our daughter wasn't quite hungry during our lunch break but our toddler was ready to see those animals! So when she started to get hungry mid trail-I was able to feed her while we were traveling through the zoo keeping the impatient toddler happy. Amazing :)
