I bought the baby breeza first and it broke within the first week so I didn't want to buy a new one at first but desired to buy the nuk and LOVE IT I had it for my olded child now ill be using it soon for my youngest it is amazing would for sure recommend this over anything else!! The baby breeza is a waste of money bit this one it is amazing!!!!
I have owned it for about 6 months. I have now used it to make all my little guys meals. He has only had to have store bought baby food twice.
What I LOVE about this machine
I do not have to pull anything extra out to cook with it. I peel, chop and throw in whatever I want to make. I add water depending on the fruit or veggie I add. I press the button, I walk away. In 13-17 mins it beeps. I usually wait to start and have waited up to 30 mins after it beeped to start making baby food, because I was wrapped up with a toddler and an infant, and the food is still steamy and happy when I get to it.
Yes you can do this on a stove top, yes you could use a blender.....BUT this takes up NO real extra room, I do not have to wash pots and pans, or a BLENDER, which I hate trying to wash those. It really is very simple to take the cook-n-blend apart I have not had any trouble cleaning it. Plus you lose nutrients on the stove top. This locks them in and you use the water you cook with to puree.
When I make baby food this is what I use, the basket from the machine, a knife, a measuring cup, a vegetable peeler and a rubber spatula. Everything I have made so far has made 12oz or more, I have a freezer full of ready to eat baby food. I have tasted everything and my toddler LOVED the sweet potato butternut squash mash I made. I pureed the rest and froze it for the baby.
What I didn't like about the machine
It is hard to open at first, but with each use it gets easier.
The water level indicator is very hard to read, I just finally figured out how much water to put in a bottle to get it to the line I need without having to worry. 7oz gets it to the max line, and 5oz gets it to the second line, about 2oz gets it the first.
The book they send with the Nuk Cook-n-Blend is mostly stuff for older babies, not babies in stage one.
But I did find this website more than helpful when shopping for my baby's next meal www.wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com
So far we have made, Sweet Potatoes, Butternut Squash, Sweet Potatoes and Butternut Squash, Carrots, Apples, Pear, Apples and Pears, and Green Beans.
I was a little bit intimidated by making baby food, but this product has made it so easy. It steams and purees, which is so convenient! The basket surprisingly holds a good amount of produce, so I have been able to batch cook. I steamed and pureed a 3 lb. bag of medium size apples and made a little over 1 weeks worth of baby food. Everything that I've made turns our very smooth in consistency. The lid is a little tight and hard to get off at first, but after day 4 it loosened up a good bit. At a little over [$] , this was well worth the money. I am extremely happy with my purchase!
I got this as a gift from my mother in law and I honestly had no idea what a GREAT gift this was when she gave it to me. I had just started my baby on rice cereal, and had begun mashing up bananas and trying to make his food in a regular food processor. Let me say, making baby food in a food processor is not the same as making it in the Brezza. The consistency is so smooth and creamy with the brezza, and my baby gobbles everything up. I highly recommend this to any mom who wants to make her own food and avoid the processed jars! I only carry ready made baby food in my diaper bag for emergencies, and I can tell that my baby prefers the homemade stuff. I would too!
I love this! We make all kinds of veggies in it & blend our fruit. It's super easy to use & clean once you figure out how to assemble & align it the first time. It makes the perfect amount and I like keeping & washing baby food items separate. & I love that this steams for healthy food for baby & blends with 1 button. I would buy it again.
I am not very domestic and I do not cook. I was a little intimidated and nervous about trying to make food for my baby girl but....it was sooo easy and she loves the recipes in the baby brezza cookbook. Great product and easy to use even if you have trouble around the kitchen.
I did not like this product. It is a god quality product, however, I did not like how it couldn't just pop frozen baby food out easily. I was looking more for a product that I could use to freeze baby food in and then pop out and store for later use. With this product, you should be willing to leave the food in the container until you are ready to use it. Also, each like container holds more food than I wanted. I wanted small 1 oz portions, but these hold about 3 oz.
The weird shape of this product makes it hard to fill, spoon out, and clean. The lids are also difficult to open, and it's hard to see the days on the dial on the top. I was extremely disappointed with this product.
