My pediatrician specifically recommended this thermometer and I can see why after one use. After fumbling with the regular thermometer that came in my baby care kit, and worrying if I was going to deep or not enough, the Vicks one takes away that worry. It's much smaller, has a short probe to eliminate the worry, plus the read out comes quick so you don't have to hold it in for a long time. Definitely a Must for babies! see less

I purchased this thermometer knowing that rectal temperature is most accurate for babies. This gives the temperature very fast so that the thermometer isn't up baby's bum for an extremely long time! And it's easy to use. Highly recommend this to all moms. see less

my oldest child took a binky so he would use this. it was very easy to use and was acurte. and all i had to do to get his temp was replace his binky with this thermometer. but my youngest would not take a binky so he refused to use it. as long as your child uses a binky this thermometer is a great thing to purches if he or she dose not use a binky then dont buy it. see less

I went through a couple of thermometers before I gave-in and purchased this 'more' expensive one. It was TOTALLY worth the money- not only does it read my toddler's temperature quickly, but it is so convenient to carry. I've tried a few thermometers and this is the best I've found so far. I've tried all types out there! Our pediatrician actually said these behind-the-ear ones are pretty good. It's WAY EASIER than trying to get my kid to hold still while I use both hands to swipe her forehead or pull on her ear to get the probe inside just right. My kid actually likes it. I love how the LED light tells you if the temperature is slightly elevated or high. The only thing I don't like is that the more you take your temperature with it, the higher the readings get. So if you take your temperature 4 times in a row, even after waiting after the required 10 sec pause, the temp is elevated each time. So the first couple of readings are accurate, but it's like the probe needs to cool down more after each reading. Other than that, I would recommend this one for kids, babies, and adults. see less

Me, my husband and my mother tried to use this. It is easy to understand, yes, but we can't seem to put it on the exact place which they call behind the ear. So we get different results. I love that once it detect the temperature, green/yellow/red colors light up too, depending on the reading like red when the fever is high. see less

I have 5 grandkids and they get fevers but when they are sick and under the weather it is a little treat to take their temps and tell me whether they have a fever or not as they can tell by the color if they are green (ok) yellow (ooops a little sick) or red (time to find the ibuprophen) I love the product and bought one for my daughters home too. When they get sick my 6 year old grand daughter goes running for the thermometer and announces whether she is sick or not. A good way to cheer up a sick kid a little. see less

Purchased this for use with my 2 children under the age of 3. Very quick read. The beep allows my daughter to know when it's done and to look for the color. Taking temperatures at night is easier due to the thermometer having the color coding. see less

I find my self using the thermometer infrequently and so while it worked well intially when the time came to use it again (over a year had passed) I had to buy a new thermometer because there was no where to find replacement batteries. Overall a good product for the price but I would be so much happier if I found a way to purchase replacement batteries. see less

This is a super inexpensive thermometer so if it breaks then it's easy to replace. It has given me very accurate readings and has a different beep (slow to med. to fast) depending on the temperature. It also shows green, yellow, or red light after the reading is complete to let you know if your [child] has a normal, moderate, or high temp. I purchased an expensive $50 temporal thermometer that was telling me my son had a below normal temp. but I could tell he was very hot. After I took a reading on this one instead, it showed me that my son had a fever or 102! I will never use my temporal again and will stick to this one from now on. see less

we needed a good thermometer for frequent use .. we bought several that claimed to be fast and accurate but were not ..in fact we had trouble even finding a good one that did what we wanted at any price ... finally we found the Vicks v912f ... wow what a difference .. it actually does what it claims. dead on accuracy, very nice form factor .. really easy to read and gives visual alerts .. really fast. we gave some to home visit nurses (for Christmas) and they all loved them .. this model sells for a little more than the grocery store types but is certainly much better and worth the difference .. we couldnt be more pleased with this device .. we plan on purchasing more (they make really nice gifts for nurses, new mothers or anyone that needs a reliable thermometer) .. we are a very happy customer . see less
