Set up is easy I did it while 38 weeks pregnant. The night light helped me check on my sons breathing in the middle of the night. We used the incline position the entire time since my son seemed more comfortable. The one knock on it is the bassinet mattress, it is thin but replaceable. My son is 15lbs and still sleeps in it until his crib arrives. I would buy this again and will recommend it to my friends. see less

This bassinet is awesome and I'm so glad I picked it up this weekend! It was generally easy to assemble, only about 15 minutes and the fashion is adorable, matches my nursery perfectly! I saw this advertised in this magazine I got at the grocery store called Find It! Sourcebook for Parents. It's so beautiful in person and a nice bed to have someplace other than the nursery, like if you have a two story house and want a substantial sleepign space for your baby downstairs. As for what the previous reviewer said, the assembly instructions and the manufacturer's web site that i checked before buying both are very clear about the width of the item and the doorways issue, so it's not like that information is being hidden. Also, the safety warnings for any bassinet are very clear that you are never to move a bassinet with the baby inside of it so never do that! I did my homework before buying and this bassinet does pass current safety standards. Target Guest Relations says that they require this of any product they sell. see less

I checked out this bassinet on a couple different websites, along with the manufacturers website, and felt very assured that this was going to be a good purchase, plus Target has great prices! At first I thought this bassinet was cute and a good size that wouldn't take up a lot of room. Well, those are the only pros to this nightmare of a bassinet! The wheels don't stay in place. Everytime I move the bassinet, the wheels collapse and I end up having to fix them. The canopy came apart after using it for 10 days! The basket underneath is too low to the ground and drags on the floor...what can you store in there without having everything fall all over the place? I regret purchasing this thing! But we kept it because my baby was due any day. I was better off buying a [$] bassinet that was in-store. I bought this basket for my newborn girl to sleep in. She was able to sleep in it for the first 5 months or so. I absolutely love this basket for so many reasons. Its super portable, which was great for me when she was very new and I always wanted her in the room with me. I was able to keep the basket next to the bed, and eventually put it in her crib for her to sleep in until she grew out of it. Now it serves as her toy basket.This basket is durable and comfortable, very portable and attractive. I think it was a way better choice than a bassinet or cradle, and much more affordable. see less

I ordered this cradle after looking for months for the "right one". It did take about a week and a half for it to arrive but once we got it, it was beautiful! The peices were orginized nicly and nothing was scrached or scuffed. My husband and I put it together in about 10 minutes and rolled it to the nursery. Actually matched the nursery funiture GREAT!!!! I did think it had the bedding to come with it, but it dosnt so we will find something for that. All in all this is beautiful and recomend it for anyone....8 weeks and Kayden will be able to enjoy it...my two and a half year old tried to get in it and say that was his bed>LOL GREAT PRODUCT see less

I actually got mine at Walmart, but they are the same thing. It's got a pretty waffle weave texture, but it looks so nice. The area where the baby lies is huge. I believe it's 33". My husband and I didn't use the wheels because they made it wobbly, but without them, it's sturdy enough. The bedding is supposed to be that thin, it reduces the risk of SIDS. There is even a hidden shelf!I just believe this is going to be perfect for my little one and I can't wait until she gets here! see less

I ummed and ahhed about purchasing a Moses basket (did I need one?), but eventually I plumped for this one. It was a hard decision because I had to buy the basket online and I don't usually like to buy things unseen. I also couldn't really tell how this version (at $54.99) differed from Badger's other hooded baskets (cheaper at $44.99 and $29.99), but I'm definitely happy with my decision!The quality of the basket is pretty good and it is certainly attractive. Some reviews don't like the velcro that attaches the hood to the basket, but it attaches very securely (I don't know how it wears if you are continually taking the hood on and off). The liner is reversible but my only criticism is that it is a little 'fluffy' and loose. However, I'm going to attach a couple more ribbons just to make it a little less loose around the head end for when my 2 week old gets bigger and it becomes more important re: SIDS, although I don't think it's necessary to do this - I'm just being a paranoid new mother! In fact, you could even use the basket without the liner if you were really worried. Have not tried to wash the liner yet but the sheet has been washed and it didn't shrink. The mattress fits the basket perfectly.Note to others: Stupidly, I managed to misassemble the basket liner and mattress when I received it as it came with the mattress (plus sheet) underneath the liner and I failed to notice so used the basket this way for a week before I realised my mistake (I blame the pregnancy hormones)!My only real problem is that I have found it very hard to find sheets to fit the mattress. I eventually found a 2 pack set of Bassinet sheets (by Circo) to fit a 12x29" mattress - this Badger mattress is a little smaller at approx 11x26", but with the aid of some safety pins (I can't sew well enough) I can make the Circo sheets fit snugly, and they weren't expensive either.Don't know how long the basket will last (in terms of wear and baby outgrowing it), but I intend to use it as a storage basket later! So far baby is happy and comfortable sleeping and napping in it, and I can move it around the house to keep him safely with me. see less

We put it inside the crib since our son is such a vigorous kicker. He was pretty big (9 lbs, 3oz) so we only used it for a month but it helped him learn to sleep in his crib and fall asleep on his own. At first we turned him so his feet and head were touching the sides, then as he grew he became more comfortable sleeping in the middle of the basket. Then it was a small step to sleeping in the big crib. Now we use it as a toy basket. Tie double knots on those ribbons, though. And we wrapped a recieving blanket around the mattress most of the time instead of the sheet that came with it. see less

I really didn't want to purchase a bassinet in the first place because after a few months you can't do anything with it but due to safety precautions it is necessary to have with a new born. You can't necessarily have them sleep with you in the bed. First off what attracted me to this particular item was the fact that the bottom converted into a toy box so it's not a complete loss however, upon receiving the item I noticed some parts already looked a bit warped furthermore, the instructions may as well have been in Chinese. I don't expect everything to have [...] pictures to follow but this was ridiculous. It's adorable once set up though. Also the metal supports for the overhead canopy must go through the bed part of the bassinet to attach securely which I don't think is the best idea to have with a newborn sleeping next to inside. They should have placed them on the outside. My daughter will be here in October then I will give you a further update. see less

I love the look of the bassinet it is beautiful. My only issues with it were, a piece cracked while trying to put it together because one of the metal pieces weren't drilled out all the way. The smell was strong like paint thinner, coming out of the box. The fabric around the bassinet, skirting and such is all one piece and is loose on the sides. Needs to be altered. see less

I LOVE this bassinet! Some of the instructions were confusing, and as a single mom I had to get help from another mom who'd put together baby furniture before and knew what to do. Also, you need to be strong for a few of the steps. But once you figure it out and get it put together, this product is amazing. Nothing looks cheap, and it came with a mattress pad and sheet which was great. I also love the fact that it converts to a toy box. I read some of the other reviews, and no it's not heavy wood, but it's definitely not junk or cheap-looking by any means. I was really pleased with this moses basket. It was actually the 2nd or 3rd one that I purchased online as I didn't like the look and shape of the first two I saw. The bedding was great and wasn't too puffy (as were the other ones I saw). The handles did bend in a bit, but were easy to manevuer out of the way. Also, I liked how this basket was very simple looking with not a lot of frills. Mine didn't come with the ribbons that I'm seeing in this picture...which is good for me. We really like how easy it was to move the basket (and rocker we purchased on Amazon) around our house so our new baby could be near us or be out of the bedroom and sleeping near dad in the living room, etc, so I could get some sleep. Also, we would take the basket to friends' houses for him to sleep in while we were out. He was able to use this until 3 1/2 months and then he was too long. I will definitely use this moses basket (with rocker) again for future babies and continue to recommend this set-up to other new moms. One more thought was that the foam mattress could easily get ruined by leaky diapers, so I put a wet pad under the sheet to prevent any staining, etc. see less

I love this bassinet. It is just the right size for our small bedroom. My daughter used it full time until 5 months. We had to move her to her crib because she started doing turning and doing 180's and I felt she needed more room to do that at night without waking her self up. I breastfeed exclusively and it was so convienent to just "reach" over and feed her while I stayed lying in bed. We would just fall asleep and I would move her back after a little while. It was also nice to just lean over and feel/hear her breathing in the middle of the night. Since she was so close I was able to hear her hunger squeaks before they turned into a full blown cry. Don't waste money on the crib sheets. I just used the hospital receiving blanket and tucked it all around without having to unvelcro the mattress. They are the perfect texture that they do not move or pull away, even when she was turning and doing her 180's. It much easier to change and wash too. see less

our baby loved it. My husband thought the mattress wasn't thick enough. So I had some thin foam padding. I loved it came with an extra sheet. I also bought those tiny sheet protectors from target [...]. So clean up is a breeze. The hood is great, because I can turn her away from the light or even add a blanket to keep light from going thru the basket weaving. At night I keep the basket on the floor right beside me and during the day I put it on a table in the corner right next to our entertainment center because we have other active kids and a dog. So it's surrounded on 3 sides & safe. All together this costs less than the price of bedding for a traditional bassinet. My older daughter is already planning on using it for her dolls when the baby outgrows it. My child is small, so this will last us longer. If your baby is considered bigger then you may not get as much use. That's the only downsize but doesn't effect us. Thanks target see less

My husband put this together today, in less than 20 minutes. While our son is not due until March 16th, yet I feel very confident that this bassinet will provide us with just what we wanted. We were looking for something to put next to our bed, so that our son could sleep near us for the first few weeks, yet we didn't want to spend a fortune and didn't have the room for a pack n play. What's great about this bassinet is that it has clasps that lock the bassinet in place which can easily be removed to allow you to rock your baby. By far, my favorite feature is the dim light on the mobile arm, that I can turn on in the middle of the night to nurse. It's bright enough for me to see, yet dim enough to allow my husband to sleep. It also has a vibrating feature, blinking lights, music and an adorable mobile which can be turned off if you prefer. For the money, we are very happy with this purchase. see less

I got this basket when I was pregnant with my first daughter. The hood is detachable is the reason for the velcro strip along the back. The pink bedding and white mattress cover worked great and it is very cute! I had my second daughter 10 months after my first and used it with her too. It was great to take to Nana's for the day and to use as a place to nap throughout the day at home. It also makes a great baby shower gift and can be filled with smaller items such as toys, diapers and bottles. I would recommend it to anyone! see less

I was very disappointed when I pulled this out of the box. It looks cheap. The lining was too big for the basket and looked awful. The hood of the basket is not attatched and justhas a strip of gaudy tan velcro to attatch it and doesn't fit that well. I returned it the day after I got it. Such a shame. see less

Beautiful! Easy to put together! Stain on wood is lighter than pictured, but still beautiful! Wheels around the house easy. Stain is a little strong smelling but am sure will go away with time. We bought this for our daughter - what a lovely bassinet! And it comes with storage underneath that is "hidden" by the drapery. I wouldn't suggest storing anything to heavy - we put a box of diapers and it warped. But I would definately buy this again! see less

I got this in 2005 for my son. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for quality was that it arrived with a cracked slat, which I had to replace myself-which was far simpler and faster than returning it to the manufacturer! It is easy to set up, easy to take apart afterward- we've been through an overseas move, back and forth, and it has come through with the most minor of scrapes which were the fault of military-contracted movers- the finish is beautiful & durable. I am getting ready to put a third baby in it this summer. A side note- I never put the wheels on it, since I didn't think the baby would like feeling unsteady with every wiggle. It's still a great height, and so roomy that I used it until my last two babies were starting to sit up. I love the style and I highly recommend it. see less

I am 8 months pregnant and was able to assemble this by myself b/c all the parts are labeled nicely and the directions are clear. The wood is very nice looking and if you are careful when you assemble, you will not have any scratches. The cradle pad, though, is very thin and I will be buying a thicker one, but other than that, I am very satisfied. It moves easily around the house and the gliding motion is just enough to gently rock baby to sleep. see less

We bought this cradle in anticipation of our DS2 arrival in August 2008. I ordered early to have time to fix any problems that might occur. Target delivered the cradle within 5 days of my order date. All the parts were included and in excellent condition.It took me about 40 minutes to assemble. I used the pictures to assemble since each part of my cradle were incorrectly labeled. I would definately not tighten the side pieces until you have the side bars underneath them in place as it can make for a tricky assembly.[...]The reason I do not give this product a 5 star review is because the assembly instructions are horrible and the wood is quite soft and scratches easily during assembly.However, the cradle is very sturdy and the gliding action is very smooth. We just bought this piece and put it together. It was pretty easy to put together and it looks really nice. It's very sturdy and appears to be solid wood. We got the cherry color. It's a very nice looking piece and the gliding motion is nice, without being scary (like some of the rocking ones we looked at). We don't have a baby to put in it yet, but it's plenty big for any size baby. They say once the child can sit up on his own, move him out of the cradle, but this cradle is certainly big enough to hold any baby until that time. Only drawback was that the cradle set we bought, the sheet was a bit small on the matress that came with the cradle. It ended up smushing the mattress a bit on the corners to fit. (The matress that comes is about 1/2 inch thick, very thin). We found a thicker mattress at the baby chain store for less than $20 and use that instead and it's great. Additional: Now that the baby has been here, we still love this cradle. Our baby is a big 5 month old and he still sleeps in it. He's 28 inches and 17 lbs at 5 months. At about 3 mths, he figured out how to spin around in it (we couldn't figure out how at first as the cradle isn't huge). He can also still roll over in it, just to give you an idea of the size. We'll have to move him to a regular crib soon, but we've used this for 5 months and that's longer than we thought we'd be able to. We used this for 6 and a half months and it still looks brand new. Will last through many more babies! see less
