So happy that we bought this duvet! The colors are gorgeous - just like what you see in the picture. Great value too! The quality is so-so as it is somewhat thin fabric, but it is what I expected for the price and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Still feels great, looks awesome, and seems to wear just fine - we have had it about a month at this point. I like it so much I am thinking about buying another set just to have a back-up!
I was looking for a duvet set from many different stores, but this was the first one I actually liked. When I got it in the mail, I liked it as much for real as I did in the catalog, and that doesn't always happen! The material is on the thinner side, but I still think it's good value for the money.
I didn't realize looking at the online photos that it went from darker spots to lighter, but it still looks pretty, I was just surprised. You should also know that the underside is grey. The material is soft, but not a weird slippery soft. Really good, just wished I had known these extra details from the pictures.
I decided to go to the store to check out the duvet cover given the poor reviews. I'm so glad that I did! This is a great duvet at a very reasonable price. Yes, the material is not super soft, but the price is not that of a 500 thread count product either. It's not at all scratchy. Also, it's not any more thin than a normal duvet. It's not see through and in my opinion, a perfect weight. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I have not washed it yet and am curious how it will do.
I bought some of theses duvet covers last year and the comfort was 4 stars. They were quite soft and comfortable. The only issue was the inner comforter ties weren't secure and they came off several of the corners.
I ordered some new duvet covers and when I received them it was immediately apparent that they are NOT the same as before. The material comfort went from a 4 star to a 2 star. I thought that maybe they just needed to be washed. Nope. That didn't make any difference so I'm contemplating returning them. They just aren't the same sleeping experience as before.
The new version does have one improvement, the inner ties are quite secure on this new version. Still, I'd rather have the old version no questions asked.
If you are looking for super soft and comfortable, I would not recommend them. Based only on price, since there isn't much else at this price point, they are probably worth it. Just realize that you won't get 4 or 5 star softness and comfort.
I originally bought this item in the twin size for my sons bed. The fabric was soft and had a silky quality, the only downside being the ties in the corners to hold the duvet in were stitched rather poorly, but it was nothing too horrible that I couldn't fix it myself.
I loved the feel of his so much, I decided to buy the same for my bed but in a queen size. I got the queen size home and opened the packaging and the fabric had a completely different texture and feel. It was rough and almost scratchy. Definitely not the same material or product. The only good thing was that the corner ties were much more sturdy.
I don't understand why there is a difference in the materials used, but I would not suggest buying this item if it will be used in a bed that is frequently slept in... unless you appreciate the feeling of scratchy material next to your skin as you sleep.
