These are SUPER easy to install and look absolutely GREAT! Word of caution ... not for those that are looking to block the sun or light. They seem fragile, however, they are tougher than you think. These are paper shades--two pleated sheets--with plastic on the moulding and bottom. They were easy to install, fit side by side better than my blinds do on other windows, are simple and quick to raise and lower, and look nice. I thought they might not last a week with my cat, but he is gentler on them than he is on our plastic blinds. Instead of digging into the side, which is how he breaks the blinds slats, he figured out he can push each shade up with his head. Each shade takes a second to raise or lower. We didn't bother to install the clip that you're expected to use for adjustments, because it was an ugly clear plastic that's not needed. Other pros are that they seem to insulate better than blinds, don't smell like plastic or varnish, and don't have cords that could endanger pets and children in our home. see less

I LOVE these shades, my in-laws had priced similar cordless cellular shades for a portion of their home and they came out to about 40 to 50 bucks per shade so when I found these at our local Target I had to try them. I measured a little short so I am ordering better sizes and will use the one I have on another window but these are AWESOME! I have a two-year old so cordless is great and its uniform which is nice so I can add great curtains on the window and not have the blinds steal the show like my wood ones do. Also excellent privacy because there are no little spots not covered when closed and pretty much on par with blinds when it comes to light blocking if not a little better again because there are no spots where there's an opening. see less

These are perfect. They keep alot of the sunlight out without cutting out our amazing view. We get the hot, setting sun, so these are very nice. If you want to block out more light and heat, you will need something a little heavier then these. But, if you don't want to loose the view, these are perfect! The pull strings are smooth and easy to use and we have had no problem with anything breaking. They were also a cinch to install. see less

I hung these blinds in the windows on either side of a large picture window in my living room & I LOVE them! I get tons of compliments, & no one can believe how little I paid for them! I had a hard time hanging them by myself, but with an extra pair of hands & a longer screw driver, they went right up & look great. I plan to buy more for every room in the house - we'll see how they hold up in my East-facing master bedroom. see less

I love these blinds. I have had them for 2 years. One of the rods broke because I hit it when washing the windows, totally my fault. I could not believe the melting statements. I have had these in two different windows facing the south with no problems. It could be the type of glass in the windows. I am so very pleased with these and no warping or melting. No, they are not real wood, but they look so much better than those cheap white 1 inch blinds. What an improvement for the few extra dollars. I will be purchasing a replacement for the one I broke. I am also only purchasing the 27 inch length, not sure if the complaints are on the longer blinds, the length is not stated in their complaints about them. But 2 years, and no melting, and direct sunlight, no problems. see less

Love this Product.Bought 4 panels to cover an insightly mirrored sliding glass closet door. The Result is teriffic and installation was a breeze.You'll need to invest in a Quality Yard Stick and Exacto Blade for precise measurement and cutting. But even that part was easy (just go slow and take your time). The design is produced in a way that one panel when placed next to the other continues the design pattern. (Double check before you cut and order an extra one just in case you cut from the left when you really should have cut from the right!)Only downside is the panels really should be larger or offer different sizes so that cutting is not necessary for larger surfaces. All in all, Positive experience with this product. Took that old mirrored door and turned it into a show peice. see less

We have sidelights that face the street, so we wanted some privacy so people couldn't see in. These are not the thin film which we tried before. These are much easier to install than the thin film was. They don't stick to each other or fold making seems like thin film does. During the day, they look georgous from inside the house and from the outside look kind of dark. At night, it reverses, looks georgous from outside, but dark from inside. Very, very easy to install, adjust, reapply, etc. Only complaint is that they only come in 24" x 36" size. You can not see through these other than some very hazy moving shapes see less

Placed these on the outside of my back windows. They only need a hook to hang them. I can open the curtains inside my house during the day, see outside nicely, but neighbors cannot see into my house. They offer a bit more protection from the hot sun, which in nice in the southern states. I ordered a set of these. They came quickly and seemed to be good quality. I am sending them back only because the photo makes them look a light honey color wich is what I wanted, but in reality they are very light bleached pine color. So if you want light colored shades these are nice, just not what I wanted. The fruitwood color I saw in a store and it is about the color pictured. see less

It's a little finicky to cut and install (on wet glass, with squeegee), but once it's done, wow, does it look great. We had some clear glass windows and doors that needed to be obscured for privacy, and this did a great job. It's thick enough to block the view into the space, and really makes the glass look as if it's privacy glass. Well-priced too. see less

I purchased the this pattern for the bathroom as well as the princess pattern for my girls room. It took me probably 5 minutes to install BOTH. A great looking product in the restroom, can't even tell it is not standard glass. Needless to say my 4 year old daughter went crazy when she rolled up the blinds on her birthday. I was redoing our small b ... see more

I was redoing our small bathroom and wanted to open the space more so I removed the blinds and curtains and put this on the glass. It looks fantastic and was really easy to put up. I was nervous at first but once i realized it's not sticky, that it's more static cling I figured I could pull it down and put it up as much as I needed to. If you get dirt or dust on it you can rinse it off. The only way you can mess up is by cutting it wrong. It provides a good amount of privacy while still allowing the natural light to come in. My husband thinks we need to put it on the otherside because he feels like at night you can still see too well but he is a bit paranoid about that sort of thing to begin with. I think it's just right. It suggests using a straight blade to cut and not scissors. I didn't want to mess it up so I just used a razor blade but I don't know why scissors wouldn't work. I had enough from this roll to put some up on our front door as well. This is a very large sheet. see less

I purchased the large roll of this textured window film (brand name is Light Effects) to use in my master bath that has a glass shower surround. I cut one large piece of the roll (use a very sharp utility knife - NOT scissors) for the shower door, and had an odd size left over which was not large enough to completely cover the other section of glass, but was big enough to center on it and still look decent. The instructions stated that two people are necessary for applying larger pieces, but I was able to do this myself. It was intimidating, but not impossible. First you clean the glass, then mist it generously with a spray bottle filled with a mixture of dish soap and water. The instructions said to use a certain amount of dish soap, but did not state how much water to add it to. I used about 2 big squirts of dish soap in a 32 ounce squirt bottle filled with warm water. After cutting the film to size, you peel off the backing and apply it to the wetted glass. You don't have to put it on straight because the soapy water allows it to slide for adjustments. Once it is in place, squirt the soapy water on the front of the film and use the squeegee to work all the air bubbles out. Wipe it off and you are done. Unlike other brands, because you use soap/water to apply the film, it is very easy to remove. I am very happy with how mine turned out. see less

These blinds were hung in the bedroom. They are actually slightly room darkening which is a good thing as we get much light from pink parking lot lights and car lights going by..I actually gave them a "night test" too. I turned on all the lights in the room at night and then went outside to see if I could see in. The windows looked totally dark from the outside even tho all the lights were fully on in the room.On a cool night when the windows are open I can close the blinds tight shut for privacy and still receive cool night air.The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars has to do with the color. Be aware that the Graphite color is actually Chocolate Brown. Should be Dark Grey not Brown. Graphite is dark grey. see less

I have a small bathroom in our master suite. I've had blinds on that window for years. I happen to discover this item. Well, I'm so glad I did. I was able to install this beautiful window covering in less than one hour. And, I had to cut out 12 different little squares. Easiest decoration I ever did.At night, the colors really look vibrant and the design really shows. During the day, the light comes through, but with absolute privacy. Just gorgeous. I used this for small 6" x 8" panes beside our front door. It was super easy to install - took maybe an hour TOTAL for all 6 window panes. The film was very forgiving, allowing me to reposition it several times if necessary. I love how this lets the sunlight through without compromising privacy. Bought two of these from another store for slighter less money. I wanted to put it up on my kitchen window and purchased two as I knew that one would not be enough. However, I accidentally bought two different designs (lace and leaf). I figured I'd be okay as the instructions state that the sides will match regardless of whether left, right, top or bottom. The bit I had left over from the top, however, didn't match and so now I have to buy another film just to cover a tiny bit on my window as I used the leaf one on another window. I purchased the installationkit along with the film and found it all easy to use. I used a lot of the liquid and fond that I was able to reposition the film even after it had been on the window for 10 minutes. Despite this, it did not move unless I moved it. The air bubbles came out pretty quickly using the squeegie that came with the kit. I would definitely recommend this product. It's beautiful. I was able to cover the missing part with the kitchen curtains. see less

I love these shades. They are a wonderful brown mocha color and made from great fabric that is very attractive. I bought them to hang in my new living room instead of mini blinds, wanted something with more class.We used 4 of them on our big bay window and they fit perfectly and 2 on another large side window. They let in enough light so as not to make the room to dark and yes give great privacy.easy to hang, we had all 6 up on the windows in about 1 1/2 hours and dont even need the curtains now. I didn't realize that the shade has this plastic valance on top. To me it looks very office like and it's very big. Also the whole hanging mechanism is literally huge. The cams at the two sides of the unattractive valance is about 3" tall and 2.5" deep. Therefore you would really need a mounting spot on the INSIDE of the window that allows for this kind of bulky thing. Your window should be about 3" recessed to have enough room for these cams.Well, my window is not that recessed and there was no way I could mount it without the cams sticking way out and looking really stupid. I also really hated the plastic valance.The bottom edge, where you pull is plastic as well, it also looks kind of unattractive, but is thinner and less noticeable than the gaudy valance on top.Now the good part: the actual shade is nice fabric, kind of a rough and rustic weave. When you hang it up you can kind of see through, which I think is very pretty.The way I ended up mounting them was to unroll the nice shade form the roll, attaching it to my old roll from the old shades, thereby I had to mount nothing. I am not sure why they don't just make them with the old style roll system that just required two small metal brackets and no stupid giant cams. I made it work and it still looks nice and I like the shade, but the cams/valance is just gaudy. Horrible.Also when ordering, the shade is actually smaller, because of the cam space. So a 39" shade, which I ordered is only 38" of actual shade fabric. You may want to know that. But you would need the full 39" space to mount it because of the cams. They should explain that....Overall, I made this shade work, but I don't think I would order another. It looks nice now. see less

I purchased two of these blinds and they look wonderful. I want to put faux wood blinds in my entire house, but options at other retailers are pricey. These are a perfect look alike. I plan to put these in the entire upstairs of my house and then buy the pricier versions for the main floor. At a glance, you would not know the difference, however, the slats are thin, like regular 1 inch vinyl blinds. They were also super easy to install and shorten the length. It took me longer to shorten the blinds than to actually install in the window frame. Overall I feel like I got more than my money's worth out of these blinds! see less

I looked at several different stores for blinds and thought these blinds were by far the best value for the price. My only complaint is they had a chemical smell when we took them out of the box, but we just opened the windows and let them air out and the smell went away. Great quality! Took my husband about 45 minute to install two of them. They look beautiful and I plan to buy more for other rooms in my house. GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE! see less

I'm not entirely sure why people have had such a difficult time installing these blinds. I hate to say it, but I think even a monkey could install these - it was not even remotely difficult to do. I purchased several sets of blinds for my new home and had absolutely no problem installing them. I have never installed blinds before and found the instructions to be more than sufficient. I'm not particularly handy either. The blinds are great quality and a great price, a lot less in price than any other stores in our area. I would definitely recommend these blinds. see less
