The instructions were very clear and the whole unit was very easy to put together, although would recommend two people just to help in the positioning and bearing weight against the unit while fastening screws. A beautiful piece that was perfect for my small dining area in my apartment. The item was delivered in good condition with all the parts nicely wrapped up and cushioned to prevent damage. Putting it together was quite easy until we got to the very end. We couldn't figure out why the last panel didn't fit until we took it apart, placed both panels side by side, and realized that this little wooden piece - triangle shaped near bottom - that was glued/attached to the panels were uneven. Since we had gotten so far, we decided to just break that uneven piece off, it really didn't serve a purpose anyways b/c heavy screws kept the panels in place anyways. Another thing that wasn't too smart on the manufacturer's end was sticking the warning sticker on the face of the top panel. Taking it off was hard as it was super sticky. Overall a great product but mine was a little defective. see less

I have had this hutch almost a year now, we use it as a bar in our lake home and it has worked out very well. I myself put together the buffet and has little to no problems doing so, but I have been a do-it-yourself-furniture buyer for a long time and have had alot of practice. The hutch I did have my brother-in-law help with, and it is a 2 person job and after some adjustments here and there it came together and looks great. We even added 2 pot lights to the hutch and made it look even more $$.There are many hutches out there and some are same price or better, but most our more $. I think if you can pick this up with addnt % off and free ship it equals the same as big box stores. I have had scratches to the stainless steel top, it is heavy but the steel is not very thick so that is something to be careful of. I find this to a super deal. see less

We really like our hutch. It looks very nice and people are always surprised when they hear we just ordered it from Target, because it looks expensive! I like the display windows for our china, and there's good storage space on the bottom. The color is a little darker than I expected and I actually like it better than the picture. Only 4 stars because I was expecting it to be bigger and because it took a LONG time to put together. Very nice though; I am happy with the purchase and it was money well spent. see less

I received my first Hutch from my Nana as a house-warming gift [..............]I used it as a entertainment center for my living room and received numerous comments on it as well as loved it during my 3 years in my apartment without ever having any issues with scuffing or any cracking from ware. Assembly is very easy, instructions make it plain and simple, and I had this done within 30 minutes. All pieces are very sturdy and solid, and it held my 20 TV and later a 30 flat screen (very heavy) TV with no problems or even evidence or appearance of any distress. I sold it (sadly) when I moved to the coast where I now reside, and have another (only difference is this current model: as pictured, has a metal top where the previous had a white wood top). I am very excited with the new addition and am using it for the same purpose as before, entertainment stand. Ive never liked the look of entertainment centers, and Love this Hutch style with its very cottage/homey feel. The side cabinets work perfect for my dvds and game cases, and the middle shelving is my space for accents like candles, picture frames, or holiday figurines/decorations. The metal top is great for the electronics, making it both durable and functional, and most importantly easy to clean. This was a decent deal with the 15% off and free shipping. I got it for a [great price], and if I found something in a store put together it would probably be about $350 to $500 dollars. I looked for a long time and never found a nice country piece of furniture with the wine holders like this one in any store locally. It has all the attributes I wanted. I think Target should sell this in their store. I think they would sell well. I did not give it a 5 star rating because there were a few quirks my husband and his friend had to overcome when putting it together, like adjusting one of the drawers that didn't line up properly because the pre-drilled holes were off by a bit, and also adjust one set of the door hinges that were pre-attached to the main piece on one side. My kitchen doesn't have enough counter space so it serves as a beverage sideboard. It holds my coffee maker, expresso maker, wine and all the paraphenalia that goes with those things. Every piece was included in the set and was in flawless shape. I even received it four days earlier than scheduled. I thought I could use them to place a silverware tray inside but they are rather small. The drawers in my kitchen are the same size. My fix was to place felt inside and just dump it in there. Very disappointed with the quality and terrible customer service from the manufacturer. The product arrived with several obvious scratches on the doors. One of the drawer fronts was a different shade than the rest of the cabinet. This part was replaced as well as a drawer side that was drilled in the wrong spot. The manufacturer refused to replace the scratched doors. One of the doors would not close properly, and the fit of the replacement door they sent was even worse. Overall low quality for the price, and unacceptable service. They eventually stopped responding to my numerous phone calls and emails in my attempt to resolve the issues. Also, this product arrived completely unassembled and took way too long to assemble. see less

I am very adept at assembly of various items.I assembled a whole house of furniture with no problem.This item has poor directions(lack of detail on the pictures for proper orientation of pieces) and poor detail on pre-assembly work done by the factory-screw holes in drawers are too shallow to allow insertion of screws without re-drilling screw holes and metal females in legs are not put in straight to allow insertion of screws without alteration.I had to dis-assemble portions of the unit 3 times due to the lack of detail on the pictures for proper orientation of various pieces.I had to spend an excessive amount of time on assembly due to the the poor factory prep.I would not buy this piece again nor would I recommend it be purchased by anyone else. see less

It arrived much faster than the estimated deliver date. [...]. The directions lack a bit of important details. It took my husband and I 2 hours to assemble - and we are both engineers and pretty handy. Certain pieces need to be a certain direction in order to work but the directions don't really tell you that. If you look closely, you might be able to tell which direction the holes are face. After we were finished and went to put the draws in, we realized the center divider piece was in backwards and had to take things apart to get the draws to work. After everything was together correctly and i cleaned the piece, it looks great! We are very happy with this piece of furniture. We are actually using it as a bar and liquor cabinet. see less

I shopped around online and in stores for many weeks before deciding to purchase this buffet and hutch. I wanted something attractive and with a good amount of storage. I found this item to be a great value. It is made of real wood; no pressboard, which is important to me. The demensions of this item are as descibed and it provides a good amount of stoage while taking up only a modest amount of space. It arrived at my door in only 4 days (and we even got free shipping on top of the sale price). Thanks target.com! It was packaged very well. There were some marks and a couple of small holes on the outer cartons, but none of the parts were damaged as result. The parts were packaged smartly and with a lot of styrofoam. No missing pieces or hardware. The finish is a just bit darker than I anticipated, but looks lovely with my other kitchen furniture and cabinets. I have read many reviews in which others state that this item took them many hours to put together. However, I found to directions to be simple and complete. I completed the lower half (buffet) in approximately an hour and 15 minutes last night and then the top half (hutch) this morning in about an hour. That is with my toddler "helping." In my opinion, anyone with a little experience should have no problems. Others have also complained about holes not lining up, but I did not encounter that problem.Overall, I am very pleased with this item and have already recommended it to a friend. I purchased this item and first off, the assembly would have been easier, had the holes lined up with where the screws were actually suppose to go. By the time we finally got the piece together, we were pleased until it was time to put the doors on. First off, one door was in two pieces, my husband had to pound back in the staple and re glue it. So after having to fix a buffet that we just bought, the doors did not fit. The wooden dowels did not line up to say the least and the doors were too long for the opening. So we sent for replacement doors, those were just received last week, they were worse that the first set. SO here we sit, with a decent looking buffet in our kitchen without doors. I am so disgusted!! This product is good for one thing, a BONFIRE!!! NOT a very good reflection on Target, just sayin!!! see less

I took a chance on this piece and I was not disappointed! My home is filled with furniture from mid to high-end stores ... and you would never know this piece did not come from the same. There was very little building to do ... just the legs and the bottom shelf. The detail on the doors is beautiful and looks very high-end. The stain is a nice medium color ... blends very nicely with my darker stuff. This piece is very sturdy and made from good quality materials. The storage space inside the cabinet is quite large and worked perfectly for my chosen use ... tablecloth, placemat, napkin, etc. storage. You could easily store a full set of china and more inside this cabinet. I am very pleased and would recommend this piece to anyone who has a need for some additional, yet stylish, storage but doesn't have the room for an entire hutch. see less

They didn't pre-drill holes for the screws and we could not get them in. Finally we pulled out our drill and drilled holes ourselves and that worked. Overall it looks nice. This is a very nice piece of furniture of great quality especially for the price. The back is wood on either side so that you don't have to hide it. Doors and drawers could use a little tweeking, but otherwise nice. My son put it together in under 4 hours. The only complaint I have (my own fault) is that I failed to register the fact that the top cabinet is wider than the lower. I bought the unit specifically for a space the width of the bottom! My in-laws bought the hutch for me and my husband as an early Christmas present and I thought it would be nice to put it together before they came down for the holidays. I started to assemble it around 6:30 pm and figured I would finish that evening... WRONG! 1:30 am came around and while I was able to put the entire hutch together, the drawers were a different issue ... Oh those tricky drawers... If you do not assemble all four side pieces PERFECTLY even (8 screws total) they will not be level or straight when you slide them shut.Now I don't know how other owners of this hutch (even the ones who own different colors) were able to make these drawers level and straight without problems, because at 1:30 am I gave up and will try again later today. This is why I gave it 4 stars. Also, there were a few nicks and scratches, but I managed to get those hidden or they ended up being the bottom parts of other pieces. One last thing, I did not like that the description stickers (a-z...etc) were not very easy to peel off and there are a LOT of them. But I found that if you get a corner of the sticker up and dab it with a WD-40 pen [..] they come right up.Otherwise, very pretty and elegant piece of furniture. Stable and not flimsy. see less

we ordered this piece to match a black/natural kitchen table set that we got from another store and were pleased that it matched pretty much perfectly. was also super impressed with Target.com service. we ordered this item on a Tuesday, it was delivered on a Thursday. unfortunately one of the cabinet doors was damaged upon unpacking but after only 5 minutes on the phone with Target (on a Sunday morning), a new one was on the way and arrived the following Wednesday. I will admit that it took a couple hours to assemble but we are very happy with it, especially for the low cost. the cabinet doors all have magnetic closure to keep them closed, the legs have adjustable feet so you can level the cabinet and all the shelves inside the cabinets are adjustable. see less

Almost every corner on every piece was broken! There were scratches, gouges, and paint chips missing all over. And the worst indignity was the [...] windows are PLASTIC!!! If I'm going to pay [$] for something I at least expect the windows to be glass but no. Scratched, cheap, flimsy plastic. I am returning this and will NEVER be buying ANYTHING from the home styles brand again. Just received this almost 3 weeks ago - absolutely love the color. As mentioned in another comment, the color is slightly darker than it appears on the website, which is a very good thing. I have a wooden kitchen table that is a hickory color, and the colors complement each other nicely. As for assembly - the instructions are very good - just make sure to follow step by step and don't try to think ahead. The top part was a bit difficult to finish & the only wish I have is that the pieces (bottom buffet & top hutch) connected together better for added stability. Great added storage for my kitchen which severely lacks in cabinet space. I would definitely buy this buffet & hutch again! see less

We love this buffet! It provides extra storage and counter space for us in our tiny kitchen. It also looks so nice as we have all white appliances- we've gotten so many compliments on it already. We bought two stools- one for each side of the buffet so that we have a spot to sit and have a cup of coffee (as our kitchen is too small for a kitchen table). I'd been to a Blu Dot showroom, so I was pleased to see them carried by Target. I got this on my Target Debit, so I got a discount and free shipping. I felt horrible for my UPS guy, as this weighs almost 90 lbs, and I'm a flight up. It arrived in good condition, better than items that I've ordered from overstock, fab, and other places. It was well-packed and easy to assemble. The two largest problems I encountered were the weight and the cam screws to the top piece. I was hesitant to order these tables because I figured they would probably be very poor quality for the price. However, I read enough positive reviews to give it a try - free shipping and returns at the store helped!. We received our two tables quickly and in perfect condition. The pieces were all clearly labeled and the hardware was separated into individual bags labeled for each step of the directions. The tables assembled very easily and are quite sturdy. I expected flimsy, cheap vaneers, but ended up with solid pieces of wood for the legs, top, cabinet bottom, all drawer sides and door frames. Vaneer is on back, sides between full-length legs, doors between the frame and drawer bottom. As others said, the knobs were a little tricky, but my husband put a little muscle behind them and they look good! It is quite a heavy piece of furniture. The color is a little darker - less red - than the photo on my computer. Needless to say, I'm happy with this purchase. see less

It took my boyfriend three hours to put together with a bit of cussing. Everything fit nicely, except for the drawers, a little crocked. The middle one has some trouble on the track. But all in all -- I love the piece. Now I didn't spend three hours putting it together, however the finished piece looks really nice and to the drawer doesn't appear crocked due to the piece being black. There were no flaws in any of the million pieces and it went together pretty easily. It's sturdy, attractive and perfect for our small dining room. It was very easy to assemble -- instructions were great and I like how it was packaged with the screws for each step separately packaged and labeled, along with each piece being numbered to correspond to the instructions. I am surprised that this buffet got any negative reviews! My first clue that this was a quality peice was the incredible weight of the boxes. It came in 3 separate boxes, and was wrapped very carefully and with obvious care. I have experience putting furniture together, and I really think this was the easiest thing I've ever assembled. Each piece fit together perfectly, and there were extra screws as well. I put this together with help from my 6 year old daughter, it was that easy. My husband only had to help me lift the top part onto the bottom, and I employed him to tighten screws down.It holds even more than I thought it would, and had every feature that I wanted. The color of the wood is lovely as well, and the drawer pulls and knobs feel heavy and expensive. Overall, I am thrilled with this product, AND the price I paid for it! see less

I would have paid 3x the price in a furniture store for the same or lesser quality of this piece. Yes you put it together but you'd never know when you're done. I think it took longer to unwrap each piece from it's protection than it did to put it together. The hutch is very, very, solid/well constructed and looks just WONDERFUL. Even with the protective packaging, a couple pieces came "marred" on a couple of edges but rather than complaining, I just took a black sharpie and you can't even tell. I DEFINATELY recommend this product! They even supplied extra screws, etc. to be sure you had enough to put it together. The instructions are a bit intimidating, but if you go slow and pay attention, you shouldn't have any problems. Just don't OVER TIGHTEN any bolts. see less

This cabinet is great and a perfect addition to my Manhattan apartment with limited kitchen storage space. It currently houses my wine glasses, wine/liquor/ microwave, and other odds and ends in the drawers. Looking forward to filling it all up with more stuff!Some caveats- The unit took about four hours to build with three people all working together (including my boyfriend who is an expert builder of things.) The directions are straight forward if you read them carefully, but we still made some mistakes and had to improve towards the end to rectify them. A side piece (t4) for one of the drawers was missing, so I have to call them tomorrow and have them send another. Also, be forewarned that if you live in a walk up building, getting this package upstairs is going to require some heavy lifting- its 200 lbs divided between three packages (my roomie and I split up the loads on the first floor and carried them up four flights. fun!) That said, it was worth it- definitely higher quality than other brand stuff and sharp looking. see less

While it is true that this item comes in 2 boxes, is very heavy, and produces a lot of packaging trash I wouldn't let any of this stop you from selecting it! [...] You need to remember that the bulk of it is still particle board even though it does not look like it so you will need to be careful to support the parts through the first few steps. [...] It only took me, with the help of a friend, about 2 hours to assemble. It took the entire living room to sort the pieces in alphabetical order and assemble. Once completed, I had to level the drawers by loosening the screws on the runners, leveling them and rescrewing into place. Not hard at all. I love it! [...] Enjoy. see less

I love LOVE this piece! It looks very high quality for the price. I will say it is more difficult to put together and more time consuming than all of my other "self assemble" furniture. It took my husband and I about 2.5 hours to put together...and you most likely will need two people...but I must say it is very sturdy. I do suggest using a little bit of wood glue as you are assembling it just to add some security but otherwise, we love it and it looks great in our dining room. Another thing we noted was that once you get it together, it is pretty heavy to move. We were nervous putting down this much money, and may have bought it sooner (and with less consideration) if it was cheaper, but we are happy with the purchase. see less
