My daughter was ecstatic to receive this for Christmas. Target had the best price of everywhere I looked. The set had easy to follow instructions for my almost six-year-old, although some parts required some adult help to create. Her almost eight-year-old sister did a lot of helping. The only downside to the initial set up was that she lost interest as it did take some time to put together. Once it was fully assembled, the girls played with it constantly! A great item -- and it will last a long time! see less

We purchased this for our daughter that just turned 6 and she LOVES it. She was so excited about it that we completed the entire house in one sitting together. At first, we planned to do one room at a time each day, but she didn't want to stop. I helped with the stickers, my 7 year old organized the legos for each page and then my 6 year old put everything together. Some of the items are very small and need a few tries to get them to stay in place, but overall a great investment. Only downside I can say is, I wish the entire set was a bit larger so she could really play with it like a dollhouse. The size that it is only allows her to carefully play with it, or else she ends up knocking over other items or having some things break apart. see less

Excellent set, modular construction of the walls makes it easy to build with the kids over several nights, and easier to store without taking the whole thing apart. While Helm's Deep is not a required purchase for those trying to collect the whole fellowship, it does have some cool figs not available in other sets. This was a great parent and child project, child is 6, older kids would have no problems assembling on their own. A homerun set from Lego, and my favorite of the LOTR collection. see less

This LEGO set may seem really cool, especially if you're interested in the new Avengers movie, but LEGO could have done MUCH better. The Quinjet is a really cool set, but it seems everybody I know likes the sets for the characters. This is what makes this set bad. Loki's head is the same as Lex Luthor's from the DC sets. and Black Widow? They made Scarlett Johanssen look OLD. Also, if you saw the movie like I did, her hair is WAY too long. LEGO is getting a bit lazy with their figures lately. Also Thor's hair is NOT yellow! it's blonde, but not bright yellow! I recommend this set highly, but i would change those few thing with other lego parts. see less

This is a perfect set for a more advanced Lego builder. The details are amazing and the way things move is wonderful. The pop top raises and lowers and the top of the camper can be removed to explore the well equipped interior complete with sink and curtains. This would be a perfect gift for a Lego lover or a VW fan or even a former hippie. This set was formerly sold only through Lego directly and is rarely seen on store shelves. My 7-year-old daughter and I were both excited when the Friends line came out, especially this tree house. Watching her follow the diagram and assemble it herself was well worth the price. Even her older brother was impressed with the "secret compartment." We are having fun composing different scenes and taking pictures of them, and I'm sure this will only get better as we add to the collection. see less

My 7 year old saw these and wanted to try them. She liked seeing how other Lego sets were put together but then lost interest. This set has held her interest and I thought the treehouse left a lot of room for imaginative play. I really don't understand the drama about the Lego Friends line...at first I was skeptical too...what, girls can't play with regular Legos?...but once I saw how much my daughter enjoyed them I got over it. They're Legos marketed to girls, not the only Legos for girls. see less

This is a great addition to my ever growing lego family. I am a builder maniac, always constructing new buildings and creations, so this is perfect. It comes with a little "inspiration" booklet to help you get started, then it's up to your imagination. When buying this set keep in mind that 400 bricks isn't that much, you may be dissapointed when you open the box and find a small bag. Comes with a cute lego man, awesome surprise!, which adds to the fun. The colors are very bright and colorful, green, blue, black, red, yellow. Overall though this is a splendid attition to my lego collection and I've had hours of fun with this!! see less

My son has loved building, rebuilding and playing with his Loader and dumper. He also loves playing with the "mine bomb." It was pretty easy for him to put together with my direction. He is 5 and had a few pieces that were too small for his fine motor skills, but overall he did a great job putting it together with a little assistance. He has taken pieces apart and put those back together by himself several times. It has held up with hours and hours of playing. It took a while to get my 11 and 12 year old interested in the lego, but once they opened the box they did not stop. It took each of them 10-15 minutes to make each of the pieces, which isn't long. They needed some thing a little more challenging, but they had a great deal of fun and have played with it since. They have asked for more lego for Christmas. I am so happy Lego finally came out with girly legos. I bought this for my daughter to go with her other "Friends" legos and her and my son both love it. I'm going to get him a lego car of his own soon. It rolls very smoothly and a perfect size. Love the instruction book....easy enough for a 6/7 year old to follow directions. We have had a blast building these little treasures. I only gave it 4 stars on value only because I think they are a little pricey but all in all, great toys that provide hours of imagination!!!! see less

My daughters are age 4 and 6...both of them LOVE the whole princess concept. They have created a few cars, castles and they absolutely adore the horse. They have both created their own horse drawn carriages. I remember playing with lego's when I was younger...but they were nothing like these. It allows a girl to be a girl....yet use her "architectual" ability to create anything their imagination allows.I also loved the guide that came with it to teach you step by step how to create several different items. This is one of my favorite Lego set recently and the best starship kit we have built. It feels compact and looks very cool. It is easy for my son to hold while playing. The set was easy to assemble with the included directions. The build time was enough to be satisfying without becoming a chore. The ship is very well designed and is not as fragile as other sets I have experience with. Even after several days of play all of the pieces are still on together. The other great feature about this set is the additional minifigs and the little mining platforms for the figs to battle from. Overall great set with a lot of play value. Everyone automatically assumes Star Wars and Legos are just for boys. This is totally wrong, we got this set for my son who is 8 yo. My 12 yo daughter has been playing with him and enjoying it as well! Neither of them has ever seen a Star Wars movie but they both love Legos and know more about Star Wars than I do! The set came with not just 1 or 2 little Lego figures but 5!!! YES!!! My kids thought this was incredibly awesome and of course they set out to first put these figures together and have little play fights with them. The fun part is they even came with light sabers! They have been working together to put the ship together and we all like that the pieces come in separate bags like little kits that make it easier to figure out what is what. My son struggled a bit with the instructions since they are all pictures and very little wording. You have to guess a lot what the pictures mean. It was a very speedy reply from their Customer Service people and I got the replacements shortly there after. We had an early Xmas and my son loves this kit. I'm surprised the other reviews I'm reading. Maybe there was a bad batch because I came on here to write nothing but good things about this unique toy. The packaging stands apart from everything else, and the lights are really pretty when you get in the dark with this toy. My 7-yr old really enjoyed building some of the models and the instructions were easy to follow. If your child likes lego this is an obvious cross-over kit. see less

This is a really cute set, but it is definitely for an older child with advanced fine motor skills. The directions are pretty good. I guess if one is familiar with the Lego product, she will find this easy to put together. The moving parts lend themselves to imaginative play. I'm keeping this for my granddaughter's fifth birthday. see less
