The features in this set are totally above my expectations!
Firstly, I must say that the Police truck was my favorite part of this set-- rare colors (for a truck), high ground clearance and a lot of customizeability! Its tough, compact design makes it easy to play with, and you never have to worry about bricks falling off. It also features an opening hatch with a fairly large cargo compartment (which is quite simple to make even bigger).
The helicopter is tiny compared to most, making it easy to play with (and feature in videos). It has a lot of detail including a tail rotor and positional lights.
The Police station itself is designed to be played with, featuring an open back (making video recording a cinch!) and a lookout bridge.
The office has a detailed computer monitor and keyboard, a swiveling chair at the desk, and a cool coffee machine inside, with an access ladder in the back to get on the aforementioned bridge. On this bridge sit a radar system and a satellite dish, giving it a special 'forest' feel. Underneath the bridge there is also a cool opening gate.
The jail cell has a bunk, removable mailbox (for breaking out thieves!), and an open back for playability.
The roomy rock opens so you can stash cash (or maybe find evidence of a robbery). The tree by the rock is also very cool in structure, because you can place almost any LEGO object in it!
The Minifigures have awesome outfits: special Police uniforms and torn jail shirts!
The bear, crowbar, pickaxe and Police radio are very nice additions to my accessory collection!
No matter if you record videos, play alone, or play with friends, you would not regret purchasing this set. And even if you don't like the Police station, it comes with all the essentials for redesigning into any building you would need anyway!
Hello everyone, and I must say, AWESOME SET!!! This is such an awesome police station, I love how it looks like a police station. The old one looks more like a Military base. Let's take a look at the pros and cons:
Two police cars
4 policemen minifigures
1 female policemen minifigure
2 prisoner minfigures
No stairs to get to the third level
A helicopter launch pad, but no chopper
An empty room (I made it my Autopsy room)
Bush tends to fall off easy
Though there are some things that I don't like, I am going to rate this a 10. Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and remember, choose wisely.
My 5yo daughter and I were scanning through the Lego Catalog to see what Lego set we could buy, when she spotted Emma's Horse Trailer.
When we bought the set, I was expecting that I would have to build the set for my child but the instructions were laid out exceptionally well. This set is recommended for 6+ but my 5yo had no trouble putting it together with just a little assistance from her dad.
It's a great set as once it's built, your child is guaranteed to have hours of fun. I highly recommend it to any parent who wants their child to learn to put a lego set together themselves.
I got this set in the mail today, and I must say...this is the coolest set I have ever seen. This thing looks like a beast! I love this like it is my own child.
Looks like a death machine
All 4 ninja and gold weapons
2 golden dragon swords ???
Took me 2 1/2 hours to build (not a big problem)
Buy this today!!!
One of the best sets i have bought throught my lego collection
good figures could be able to fit all four ninjas inside
good play features also could of had anacondri staff
good size vehicle
I'm a college graduate who grew up collecting/playing with Lego, and I saw this set in the clearance aisle of my local big box store. I usually go for Castle or LOTR sets these days, but this treehouse took me back to my childhood Belville days and I couldn't resist scooping it up (apparently I have 6-12 year old tastes). ;)
Things I love:
-The animals each have a "home"-- kitty has a bed, and the bird has a house. Just too cute, and satisfying somehow.
-New flower elements- way cooler than the ones I had as a kid!
-Unlike Belville, these are roughly the same size as the other Lego themes. I remember as a kid kinda resenting the implication that girls couldn't build small, detailed models-- the Belville sets included huge wall elements and oversized characters, and were generally unsatisfying builds that didn't mix well with my other Legos. I like what Lego has done with the Friends line. Some people say they're "too small"--I prefer them the same size as other themes.
-You can swap hair elements with traditional minifigs! It's a little thing, but I love the new hair elements and it's fun that you can use the styles you already have on the Friends as well (or put Friends hair on your Castle princess).
-Tons of fun details! The little milk carton is adorable, I love the telescope, and the flowers/ladybugs/butterflies are fun to decorate with.
-Good construction. Unlike the tree in the Medieval Market Village, this one doesn't constantly fall apart (don't get me wrong, I love my MMV).
Things I don't love:
-Lego's a bit more stingy with the minidolls than they are with traditional minifigs. The Friends sets in the $20-$35 price range come with only one or two figures, while other themes will have 3-4 figures in this range. The animals in this set kind of help make up for that, but still, I wanted more than one figure.
...so of course I had to buy more Friends sets.
In conclusion, I don't know that I would have bought this at full price, but on clearance it was a heck of a deal and I love it. I now have the urge to buy ALL the Friends sets. This could be bad. But it will definitely be fun!
This is a perfect first set. It has fun pieces, like cats, a ladder, and a bench. It's not well supported on the left of the tree house when you look at the front of it, so kind of be careful on that part. Though it has 191 pieces, I don't think twenty dollars was appropriate.More like fifteen dollars would be nice.
i picked this set up for my 5 year old daughter yesterday.she came back into the living room(we set up our spare bedroom to display and build our legos, the living room was getting crowded.)and said "look dad,done."..i was like "man, that was only a half hour.im gonna go broke if you keep building these this fast!"..its true because when shes done building a set,she starts talking about this other set she saw and wants now.she gets it from me i guess:)anyway,i didnt build it so ill let her review it...ok,this tree house is awesome!there are flowers all over the tree tops,a cat bed for Olivia's kitty, and a really cool birdhouse with a birdy! The ladder is cool,it lets Olivia climb up to her treehouse and play with her kitty and water her flowers.i like this lego the best because of all the flowers and pretty colors.it reminds me of summer.build me a tree house dad...ok parents,i think its all about the colors with these friends sets.my daughter loves these sets, she wont take any help on them and the cool thing is,she doesnt need any.im very proud of my little one.awesome.she has her eye on a few more friends sets but we still have a few chima and superhero sets to collect.she loves them though so those others might have to wait a little bit.thats cool too because i get to see her build these by herself.one cool thing,i told her that the "other" blok building company has barbie sets, she looked at me and said "they arent legos dad, they just arent the same..."..i think she got that from a Family guy episode..too funny.love that baby.:)
My 7 year old daughter received this for Christmas, and immediately put the set together that evening. The set was not difficult to assemble, with my daughter putting most of it together herself. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. The set itself is very nice, it comes with some nice extras, bucket for food for the horses, carrots, plus you can change the horse to be with or without the saddle. The top of the stable is movable for easy play inside once it is built.
My older daughter has always loved playing with Legos, but before the Lego Friends sets came out, my 7 year old was not too interested. Now she also loves building them and spends hours playing with them. I am really pleased with all the Lego Friends sets that we have! Thanks, Lego!!

It's not just for kids....Grandmothers like it too
Another great set in the "Friends" collection. My Granddaughters visit me for a couple of weeks in the Summer. I purchased this set and some others to have as a fun activity for us to share during their stay. The girls put this and the other sets together with no problems. The pictured instructions were clear and easy for 5 and 7 year olds to follow. We had hours and hours of creative play time. I did send them home with a NIB set each and a promise that for birthdays and Christmas more sets would be added to their collection. I had never played with Lego products as a child so I was suprised at how addictive the Lego expericence took hold of me. I somehow have purchased every "Friends" set for me as well as for my Granddaughter. Can't wait to see what sets are coming for 2013.
