I play a lot of different card games, some with up to 10 decks of cards. This card shuffler was a life saver! My card partners and I were getting tons of sore hands, and blistered fingers because we usually play for 4-6 hours. This has made are game much quicker, and so much more fun! I loved it so much that I bought 2 as a gift for my Step Mom who also is an avid card player. I gave the quality rating a 4 because it is plastic, and the clear card tray did chip a corner off when dropped accidently, but that did not stop it from operating properly. It still gets used to this day, and it was purchased over 2 yrs ago. So just try not to drop it....lol! Please do not hesitate to purchase this item. see less

[...] This is a great twist on the original with the worst card, as selected by the judge, getting a lighthearted punishment from the sour apple spinner. The double sided cards are not confusing. You still use green cards when you are the judge and red cards when you are not [...] This was a Christmas gift and the whole family enjoyed it. Some highlights include updated references in the cards and the elimination of passing, which always resulted in that one junk hand with no good cards being passed around by the end of the game. I can't recommend this enough, if you are a fan of the original you will love this one. The only reason I took off one star for quality is I could see the green apple spinner eventually not working very well. Buy with confidence--a great time will be had by all. see less

I guess it's a matter of taste, but unlike other reviewers, I thought this was an excellent alternative to classic Apples to Apples. The double-ended cards were not confusing to us. One end is nouns and the other end is adjectives, so if you've made it past 3rd grade, you really ought to be able to play this game without puzzlement. The "sour apple" part of the game involves using the apple-spinner to get a punishment if your card was the least-liked by the judge. I thought it was a little silly, and I probably wouldn't use that aspect of the game every time I played, but if you have a large enough group of people, it could be worthwhile. However, I do love the spinner itself, which looks like a green apple. It's adorable. I played this game at a friend's house and I will be purchasing my own soon. Waiting for a sale because I think it's kind of overpriced. see less

I've been wanting this game for a LONG time after just seeing commercials for it. A friend bought it for me for Christmas and we all sat down to play it. We all were in TEARS laughing so hard! I LOVE this game! I haven't laughed so hard in a really long time. It's so funny to watch people concentrate so hard on trying to figure out what the phrases are supposed to be, and hear them sound so silly! I recommend this for ANYONE that loves board games and wants a BIG laugh! see less

I bought this for my brother for Christmas, because he has limited use of one hand which makes it hard to shuffle cards by hand. The plastic "window" part fits in by 2 pegs in 2 holes on each side of the machine. The plastic on the side was warped outward, so the pegs wouldn't stay in the holes. You have to place the cards in upside down (which is the way it is pictured on the box and not on here) to make it work. Then it only grips the cards half the time. It is very cheap, but is usable. I don't think it will last very long, but we will see. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because we did actually get it to work after applying a little tape. see less

Love the game! We play as couples against each other and have worn out six machines. We play every week and track all our scores and love to review the statistics. Biggest complaint we have is No Replacement Cards! It seems as though Mattel wants to sell just the machines. It is hard to justify the price of a new machine just to get new cards. see less

This game is a lot of fun with themes and characters from several scifi shows and movies. It doesn't take an uber geek to catch the references either, there's a pretty broad appeal. You'd have to be the biggest stick in the mud in the world not to enjoy this game. see less

I purchased this item for an elderly couple for Christmas. They play card games that require multiple decks and they love the convenience of this machine. Their guests also appreciate the gift as one person has arthritis and the other hand tremors which make it impossible to shuffle the cards. Now, they don't have to ask anyone else to shuffle for them and everyone is very happy to move the game along more quickly. see less

Easy to shuffle cards and I would say better than the top end KEMs, I have a set of KEMs and I do not even use them anymore after I got a pack of these as an experiment to find out what they were like. If your just a snob and like to pay twice as much for similar cards go ahead and buy KEMs, but if you are looking for something better in Plastic cards this is the way to go Copags are great! see less

Maybe I didn't read the product description but I expected to be able to put cards in the device while playing a hand with another deck and have them shuffled in time for the next hand. Problem is that the device requires you to put the cards in and hold a button to shuffle them one time. If you're like everyone else who shuffles, you'll go through this routine 3 times. It's kind of annoying and it's also LOUD. The noise detracts from the game and the conversation at the table. Lastly, mine was broke. One of the sides did not work. Because I didn't want to hassle the return on a $10 device I had to open it up and superglue parts of the gear casing back together to get it to work. see less

Tired of playing cards getting sticky and stuck together, these cards are very durable, and easy to keep clean. You just wipe them with a damp cloth and they are ready to use. No more worries about people spilling their drinks on them or someone setting them in a wet spot on the table from sweating glasses.I would recommend them to everyone. see less
