I bought this bookcase to use as a stand for my flat screen tv. This one goes very well with the furniture in my living room and doubles as a stand and bookcase. The wood is solid and is very sturdy. It looks like an expensive piece of furniture. The price was very reasonable. see less

I put this unit together in less than an hour by myself. The instructions were good, but the best part is that the parts were bundled and labeled for each step of the assembly, and they gave extra parts. It looks great. I put this together by myself the other morning.The bookcase is sturdy and well made, labeled very clearly, and the hardware was arranged in small packets according to direction's steps. Take your time. The only beef I had was with the locking pin and lock devices. You drop a circular lock into a hole and its corresponding bolt is tapped into its hole. HOwever, sometimes they dont jibe, because the lock's holes are drilled too deeply. I would highly recommend after step three to tap in the bolt, put the pieces in contact, and THEN insert the locking hoobyjiggy thingamabob. This way, you can turn it and make it surround the bolt instead of blindly trying to put the bolt into the lock. Other than that, it's great. Enjoy see less

I purchased the 5 shelf and 3 shelf bookcases over a year ago. I found them easy to assemble but found it a little easier to have an extra set of hands. I have had other ready to assemble furniture but these are sturdier that those other pieces. I also find the details on them make them appear as a more expensive piece of furniture. I have moved them a couple of times and they have stayed together without needing any repair. They are sturdy and found them steady on carpet of tile floor. I bought 2 of these and the TV stand with glass doors. I put a bookcase on each side of the TV stand and it makes my family room look so good. I bought the black my husband put all 3 pieces together in a couple hours. and he love it all. Great prices. I understand when people say so many screws but if you want it to stay together thats what you need. Also an electric screw gun doesnt hurt see less

The directions were clear and it took about a half an hour for me to put it together. It was packed well, so no damage. It was a cheap piece of furniture, so I think it is about worth what was paid. I wasn't looking for a shelf to last through time, just through childhood. I didn't expect hardwood. It is sturdy enough to hold books. Its biggest fault? On the carpet, it doesn't stand flat once books are loaded. It kinda sways forward so there is a bigger gap on the top then the bottom near the wall. I put a wall anchor in. Comes with one. and I feel better about it, but it still leans forward. I think my next step would be to put a little wedge of wood under the front of it. I dunno. I think if given the chance to repurchase, I would spend a little more to get a more stable one. see less

A little smaller than I thought, but still absolutely perfect. Anyone who says this piece of furniture is difficult to put together, obviously has a serious reading problem. It's no more difficult than putting together LEGO's pay attention to the instructions, and it goes together fine. This is the 3rd Carson Espresso collection item in our home, and we plan on purchasing more to go with this piece in the family room. The other pieces have been just book shelves. For twice the price, we could have purchased junky items that were similar, and similar in construction, from the local furniture store, so this is a great deal. see less

I ordered this for our 46" LCD tv and it is perfect. The wood is great quality and it looks great in our living room. We did have a little difficulty following the directions, but got it figured out. I like the way all the screws and such are placed in pockets according to each step. see less

Overall this corner shelf is a great value...we had no problems with anything being damaged. It fit perfectly in the hallway corner. I would recommend securing to the wall if you have any small children that would possibly climb on it...hardware to secure to wall is included. see less

I have ordered four of these so far because they're so useful for everybody in my family. My daughter used one for her home office and one for the TV in the living room. My friend also uses his for his living TV because it takes up so little space and can store all his media stuff in baskets on the shelves so everything is not exposed. Cords and wires from components are hidden behind the legs of the unit so it doesn't look messy. Mine will be set up for my home office. We like them very much. Sleek , simple style. The price is dropping so we keep ordering more. LOL see less

The desk is sturdy constructed for a simple desk and very easy to assemble, in fact my 9 year old son helped me with it. The drop front drawer works well to accomadate my larger than normal laptop. Was looking for a smaller white table to go with the other "assembly required" furniture in our bedroom. This works well under the wall mounted TV to hold the DVD player, etc. Will put baskets on the shelves to finish the look. I assembled it myself in less than an hour. So nice that they separated the hardware needed for each step -- even included extra hardware. The quality is better than expected. The price was good. The color is not an off white/antique white. Really like the look & utility of this item. I ordered it as a space-saver which would be sturdy enough to use for my primary computer location. The only tricky part was dealing with the cams, during assembly. But I am thrilled now to have the item in my senior-living independent-living apartment. It looks great here & makes a big difference in my daily computer use. I also have the same brand of Carson leaning bookcase from Target, matching color, in my home-office area here. My only criticism is that these items are a bit pricey for the quality - particularly the smaller-size bookcase. see less

I received this desk today, husband put it together and the desk part wobbles, and it also had a couple of chip marks on it. The corner is peeling too. Not worth the price, but kept it anyways and fixed the chips with white nail polish and the desk part we nailed to wall so it was more sturdy. see less

The desk portion of this creeks and wobbles with even the slightest amount of pressure. The corners of some of the shelves have chips in them and it's obviously particle board. It looks cute enough, but it's really not practical! It's pretty unusable. see less

I already wrote a review on this but somehow it doesn't show to me. I love this shelf. It's heavy and durable. I actually enjoyed assembling it, too, with the way all the hardware was organized in little sections by steps. It's a great book shelf but I use it mostly for decor - in the living room it just filled up a stupid empty corner where nothing else would go. Highly recommend. By the way, my packaging was perfect and nothing was damaged. see less

I was a bit hesitant once I saw one star of a previous review but after I read it I realized I need to still buy one and rehabilitate its reputation. My package wasn't damaged and it was really heavy, which is good, because a piece of furniture like that, you want it stable and reliable. I enjoyed assembling it, too, because everything was such a good quality and all the hardware was packed in sections for part 1, 2 and so on of assembly. We had a corner in our living room that asked for something and this shelf just clicked in there. So ready to put some decor and books in it and it's ready to roll. I also appreciate that it has legs, because it's easier to run the wires behind it. It had a little scratch - paint off - on the top trim, but I decided it's not worth the hassle of return, nothing a little black sharpie couldn't fix. see less

not too happy with receiving the product. After taking the pieces of the shelf out of the badly damaged box, I was surprised to see only 1 piece broken. I could have dealt with it if it was a crack in a shelf but it was the entire side/support. The corner was busted off and it had atleast 3 cracks in the middle of the wood. Will be returning and getting my money back. see less

The manufacturer specs aren't correct. If you are wanting this to fit in a specific space, make sure you have a little extra room. I based my purchase on a set space and it doesn't fit. The overall appearance is nice but I am upset that it will have to be returned. So far nothing from this company is accurate when it comes to measurements. see less

I had my eye on this desk for YEARS, but kept putting it off and tried to find something similar to its style and dimensions somewhere else. After fruitless searches and ridiculous prices, I finally gave into buying it this weekend, and I am so glad I did. Putting it together was a breeze---the instructions were easy to read and the small parts are organized for you so you don't spend countless minutes looking for the proper screw or peg. I did use wood glue to reinforce all the joints, JUST to be on the safe side and I am pleased with its functionality and esthetics. It looks BEAUTIFUL next to my bed. This desk is exactly what I wanted. It was easy to put together and sturdy, but not too heavy. It went together very easily and quickly. I was concerned about the drawer, but it slides wonderfully. The big sticker was a little work to remove, but after I pulled off most of the paper, a little nail polish remover removed the remaining glue. The desk is perfect for a small space and ideal for a laptop computer. I am very satisfied with the size, price, and quality of this product. It arrived mostly intact. One medium ding on one of the side panels where it wont be seen where I'm using it. The wafer board covered with wood veneer panels look nice. The instructions are well written and logical nice for a change. You will need a drill and 1/16" bit for predrilling the small screws for the back panel. Also having 4 or 5 cups to presort the hardware is a good idea. Having a helper is also a really good idea. Everything else only requires two phillips head screwdrivers - no.2 for the cam screws and no.1 for the back panel screws. It took about 2 hours to put it together. You will also need a large trash bag just for the styrofoam packing. The only construction issue was one of the cam lock holes for the top to side panel was misdrilled. I had to lay on my back and carve out the bottom edge with an exacto knife of it get it to work properly. see less

We were very excited to set up our new TV stand for the holidays. Unfortunately it arrived with damage to both the top and bottom corners. We would have lived with it if it was only the bottom piece since it wouldnt be visible, but the damage to the top would have been VERY visible once assembled. The box was so badly damaged that it arrived with both ends completely open. We are returning this TV stand to a target store, but unfortunately do not have time to order a replacement before our guests arrive for the holidays. Very dissapointed. see less

We purchased this along with the Carson Media Stand in Espresso and two of the Carson 5 Shelf Bookcases. All of these items are well made and heavy. There was some light damage to a couple of the outside corners but the damage was easily covered with a brown Sharpie. The assembly takes a while. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to do all 4 pieces since there are dowells and screws to put everything together. We were especially impressed with the detail of the moulding on the tops of the units and on the shelves. We wound up purchasing a second Corner Bookcase to put on the other side of the Media Stand. Overall, I would purchase this brand again. It's a great value for the price paid. And Target's free shipping made it even better. see less
