Bought this for my mom for Christmas last year. She loves it. Never any problems. She loves the the function especially allows her to set the amount of beans to grind per cups of coffee, as well as the coarseness selector.
Value-priced burr-grinder for french press grounds. Surprised to see an electric burr-grinder at this price point, as most on [other retailer] were twice the price.
The grind-size and cup-size adjustments are convenient so manual measurement isn't necessary.
I picked this up at my local store in order to evaluate it against other models, such as Capresso Cool Blade, Mr. Coffee, KitchenAid and, finally, the Krups F203. I already had a Bodum Electric French Press, which I LOVE, so I expected to be suitably impressed with their blade grinder. Was I ever WRONG! This appears to be the same machine as the KitchenAid BCG111ER coffee grinder, albeit with a great & grippy rubber jacket. Both this Bodum and the KitchenAid, which I briefly owned before returning, are fairly ineffective at coarsely grinding 3-4 scoops of coffee beans. After grinding for 45 seconds to 1 minute or more it delivers a very uneven grind with plenty of half-ground beans left. I am returning the Bodum blade grinder today and will be keeping my new Krups F203, which easily handles an even grind every time.
