Meryl was very convincing as Julia, she did an excellent job. Amy did a very good job also. I have watched this over and over several times, it is a feel good movie. The way they change the time of year from Julia's time to Julie was convincing. It is refreshing to watch movies that don't have [...], violence, and bad language. It is too bad there are not more like this.

A surprise like for me, and well worth the pre-order price
I was surprised that I like this movie, I wasn't to sure if I would like this story but at the pre-order price of $ I decided that it was worth a venture into. One thing that I enjoyed was the feeling of two movies in one which is explained in the title, the merge and coherence of the two stories into one was seamless. It made you hungry for more in the story and left you with two worlds and lives and the path to their goals. A surprise like for me, "Bon Apptit."
I watched this movie with my fiance and we both loved it! Very funny, great for watching with that special someone. Not a "chick flick", yet sweet moments...not a guy movie, yet definately some manly moments. Highly recommended movie.
i would have given this movie 5 stars (or 6 or 10 - it was a hilarious, albeit raunchy, movie). BUT... there is no dvd WITH a digital copy. we were looking forward to downloading to ipod to watch on plane ride to our honeymoon. oh well. a really funny, awkward, and still touching performance by paul rudd with jason segal in his ultimate role. not a movie to be relegated to guys-only humor or chick flick. a great movie for a night in with friends. (although i will say, it is rated R for a reason!)
I'm really get sick of movie endings. This movie was no exception. The acting was good. The story was adequate, until the end. There was no ending. It was so bad that me and my wife had to write an ending so there would be closure to the movie. I think that's laziness on the writers part. I can not recommend this movie. If I had it to do over again, I would spend my time watching a movie that had a complete story, like The Great Escape, starring Steve McQueen.
