I bought these for my daughter who is a very heavy sleeper and doesn't always wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. They have worked perfectly and never let any wetness through to the sheets. I just pull up the pad and she can go right back to sleep without the ordeal of having to change the sheets on the bed. The only issues I have had are that my daughter is a restless sleeper so unfortunately her bottom isn't always on the pad by the time she wets the bed (not the product's fault) and that eventually the pad started to smell of urine despite washing it every time. (I think it may be similar to what happens with wicking workout clothes that makes it difficult to get the sweat smell out). Anyway, they are so inexpensive, I just ordered two more and will retire the ones that smell. I didn't have any of the problems described by the people who gave negative reviews. Re the one where the reviewer said it didn't even hold a cup of water, her pad must have been defective because my daughter has a very large bladder and when she wets the bed, it is much more than a cup of water (at times she was peeing through overnight diapers). see less

I have been using this product for over two years and, wash after wash after wash, it holds up and does the job. I strategically place them under my kids' fitted sheets but on top of the mattress pad to capture accidents and "spillage" with illness. I cannot tell you how many times these pads have helped in middle of the night events by making clean up quick and easy, and saving me from having to remove and launder a thick mattress pad along with other bedding. They hold a tremendous amount of liquid even after many washings, but don't cause your child to sweat. Can't say enough good about these products. see less

Yes, these do pill, so launder them separately. Other than that, they fit both my bassinet and work well in the middle of the crib. The new ones and some hand me downs of the same brand both work just fine at stopping leaks and preventing the mattress from getting nasty. I use them under the sheets. I am using these bassinet pads for my Slumber Time Elite by Simmons Kids Gliding Bassinet. They are a couple inches too short and slightly too wide. This being said, they will still serve the purpose they are meant for- and will fit just fine under a fitted sheet. They are very soft and seem like a good quality. We have used this on our son's crib mattress for extra protection since he was an infant. He is now a potty trained 3 year old and we still use it as a back up in case he has an accident. We wash it under normal cycle and dry on low and we only have to pull lightly to stretch it back to normal shape. We have had no complaints--I was shocked to see the low ratings on the website. The mesh does very well at holding it firmly to the mattress without making the mattress scrunch up. The material held up very well through many washes, my daughter is almost a year old and I wash her sheets at least every other week weither they need it or not. I have 2 that I alternate under her sheets (so each one has been washed at least once a month for a year). The sheep design is slightly "faded" because of the washing but that is the only noticable deprication. They claim to hold up to 8 cups of liquid. I'm not sure if it's that much but they do hold a lot. Just before my daughter got here, my cat noticed we were perparing for someone to come in to the house and got jealous enough that he peed in her crip. Luckaly I had one of these on there and the smell didn't even seep through onto the matress (though I still cleaed it). I washed it on hot with plenty of bleach and nothing bad happened to it.I'm so happy I chose these over the thicker cheeper version that have the quilted dimond stitching on them. A friend of mine used those and now switched over to these. The dimond ones don't hold up in the wash, are lound enough that if your baby tosses and turns, it will wake them up, and don't fit as well on the mattress.Splurg the extra buck or two to get these sheep ones instead of the dimond ones. It will save you money and hair loss(lol) in the long run. see less

The people reviewing this I think are reviewing the WRONG product. This product is just a pad that sits on top, there is no elastic on it whatsoever. It is the full size of a crib mattress, it just lays on top, then you put your sheet over top of it. I just washed it in COLD water, and dried it on LOW and had no problem. But even if it did shrink a little, it's not fitted so it doesn't matter. This product is fine, and is a good value for the price. see less

I think too many people don't read the descriptions on products before they buy them. I've used these with all 3 of my boys and I'm back to buy new ones for baby #4. These are not made to cover the entire crib mattress. As it states, these are 17" Long and 33" Wide- just big enough to cover the area under a baby's head or under his/her diaper area. I've always used them under my babies' heads so that, if they spit up at night, I can just untie this, toss it into the wash and put a new one down, instead of taking off the sheet and the mattress pad underneath and re-sheeting the entire crib. see less

My daughter occasionally spits up overnight, so these have been great to use under her head and just need to change the sheet saver instead of all the bedding - especially if it's the middle of the night! It's the perfect width to tie on to the sides of the crib securely. An added use, if all the changing pad covers are in the wash, these are the perfect size to use as a backup there as well. It's soft, but the lining doesn't allow any moisture though to the sheet and they wash up well. see less

These were great when my son was very young. I would use them in his crib in case he spit up or had a diaper leak. They tie to the crib bars so they stay in place well. It is so much easier to change out the sheet saver, instead of stripping down the crib and washing everything just for a little stain. I bought this as a substitute for my Stokke mattress pad cover. I had to look up the dimensions because Target is not very good about listing the measurements of their products (as opposed to listing the dimensions of the packaging). This is a 24" x 38" pad with a thick cotton material. It covers most of my oval mattress and I like that it's organic. Since my sheets are pretty tight, I haven't had a problem with any shifting of the pad. It is pricey so it helps if you can catch it on sale. see less

This is a great product - I bought it for my son at daycare. He has a lot of allergies, so we ended up buying an organic crib mattress and organic pad cover. The pad itself is great - soft and thick enough to keep the mess out, but not so thick to compromise the firmness of the mattress. However, it is a bit too large and makes putting the sheets on the mattress a little tricky (the edges fold over the edge of the mattress).I'm happy with the purchase overall. We bought an organic soy foam mattress for our baby and naturally, wanted an equally safe, non-chemical, mattress protector. After all, what's the point in buying an expensive mattress if you top it with a plastic cover that reeks of chemicals, only to have their noses pressed into it for more hours than they're awake during the day? We have two of these, which is nice because they take a good amount of time to dry even after being in the dryer. It looks HUGE when you first open the package but after one or two washings, it does shrink down to fit the mattress nicely. Anytime my child has spit up and it's gone through the fitted sheet, it barely dampened the cover and certainly didn't make it through the mattress. I can't give a recommendation when it comes to bedwetting though, since we, luckily, haven't experienced that yet. Overall, bought one and then bought a second months later, so definitely recommend! see less

We couldn't afford an organic crib mattress, so we got this to add another layer of protection between the plastic-covered mattress and the baby in addition to our organic cotton sheets. It's soft, organic, and washes well. I love how it zips completely around the mattress. It's 100% certified organic cotton (no waterproofing), so I imagine I'd have to wash this as well as the sheet if baby has any leaks. I bought 2 of these 3 years ago and they have been used every day since. I always just throw them in the dryer on low heat with all of the rest of the clothing and I've never had a problem. These are SUPPOSED TO BE very tight fitting! It's not supposed to fit like a sheet. We finally had to retire them after 3 years because yes they do shrink over time just like everything else. I use these as diaper changing pad covers. I have the (another retailer) diaper changing table which is smaller than most changing tables, and the (another retailer) changing pad. I just throw one of these on top of the changing pad and voila, a nice clean looking, simple way to change your baby's diaper on a soft and easily washable changing pad. If her diaper leaks on it while changing, I just toss it in the hamper to be washed and grab an extra one and plop it down. The (another retailer) pad below is plastic so that easily wipes clean. No need to unzip and all that. It's quick, simple, clean looking and soft for baby. see less

I am pretty sure that these are not intended to prevent diaper leakage onto sheets...there are leak-proof crib pads for that purpose. These are mainly all-cotton and intended to be tied to the crib's slats and used under your baby's head to catch dribble, spit-up, or mucous if your baby has a runny nose. They are a great way to preserve the cleanliness of your crib sheet for a few days when used in this regard. Only, you will want to have several of these on hand unless you plan to wash every day. see less

I bought a really expensive baby mattress and I am trying to protect it so it will last me a long time, and I have to tell you..between Sarah's too much dinner at bedtime spews or nighttime diaper leaks..her precious sheets have taken a beating, but the mattress is still 100% BRAND NEW. Sarah is almost a year old. I am on here about to purchase another one for the crib we have at my moms house now since we are thinking of having another baby. I always read the reviews on products to help me make decisions, which is why I had to add my two sense on here about this product. Babies do not need a soft cushy mattress, per my doctor. It is best if the mattress is firm{the other reviews were looking for a "soft pad"}. I LOVE this Mattress Protector, buying another now!! see less
