We have only had the Bissell for a short period of time, but it has been great at getting all the dog hair vacuumed up. The carpet feels so much cleaner when walking with bare feet. The attached hose is always convenient for the couch, corners or misc places needing a quick clean up. My only not so positive comment would be the attached hose is not very long so you need to move the vacuum with the hose to keep it close. Great vacuum! I recommend it!
I have had this vacuum for 2 1/2 years. The suction has stayed the same from the first use (with regular maintenance). We move so much we don't know if we'll have hard floors or carpets so we stick to inexpensive vacuums and this one has been amazing compared to other brands in the same price range. I have a dog who sheds non-stop and this does great. I also love that I can stop the roller to vacuum hard floors.
We bought this vacuum over 2 years ago and it still works like it is brand new. We have 2 dogs that shed uncontrollably and live at the beach which tracks in a lot of sand. The vacuum never seems to have a problem on any surface. The attachments work well for furniture and hard to reach places. It is very easy to use and maintain. We are continually amazed at its quality for the price.

Excellent pet vacuum! Not to mention a wonderful price.
After using a below par vacuum for years with my husky and blue heeler mix, I finally decided to upgrade to a pet vac. With a baby on the way and too much dog fur, I started reading reviews & this vacuum had excellent reviews and couldn't be beat for the price. I quickly assembled it (which consisted of a 5 minute session with a phillips screwdriver, easy) and tried it out! After vacuuming the living room, the canister was FULL of dog hair and dust that my old vacuum must not have picked up the week prior. I forgot that this vacuum can also be used on hardwood floors, so I gave it a try on my hardwood, tile, and linoleum flooring and it worked just as good! The attachment for the stairs was equally as powerful and great! It was easy to figure out once you briefly glance at the first few pages of the manual and glance at the buttons all over the vacuum. 5 star quality for a low star price!!
I've played music off my iPod on this and I use it as an alarm clock. The sound is great! I wish you could play the radio but all you can play is music from your iPod. The display is really bright. It has the option to turn the display brightness down or off. I would recommend this product.
The radio has great sound and the features are adequate with the exception of the buzzer alarm. My previous Jensen docking station had the option to use the buzzer alarm or ipod/iphone or radio for the wake feature. This unit does not give you the buzzer alarm option if your ipod/iphone is docked. I personally like to charge my phone at night and wake to the buzzer alarm. The buzzer feature also sounds like a faint digital watch beep. I would have expected more flexibility considering the cost.
I bought this item about a week or so ago and I absolutely love it. I use it everyday. It has more suction than other handhelds I've used. I've seen people's complaints about how long the battery lasts, but if your using it to vacuum your entire house it's a waste. We have wood floors so ill sweep first and then use the vacuum to get EVERYTHING that I swept up. I ordered the wall mount for it from Dyson since i don't like plugging it in and leaving it sitting around. we have s curious 2 year old.I think Dyson makes great products and I would definitely recommend this.
Lightweight and powerful
Makes it easier to keep my house clean bc it is so handy
Suction significantly better than other handhelds
Value got a 4 since it's 5-10 times the price of other handhelds
This is a keeper and makes others look disposable
My personal worst cleaning nightmare is dog diarrhea in the dining room -- which is what I discovered this morning. Fortunately I had bought a SpotBot about a month ago. This was its first acid test. After picking up what could be picked up, I sprayed it down with Eeeeeeew (a Bissell product sold at pet stores specifically for pet stains and odors). I used the SpotBot formula for set-in stains to get maximum cleaning power, but pressed the button for suface stains to avoid grinding the disgusting stuff further into my cream-colored carpet. After the SpotBot was done with all the stains you would never know anything bad had happened in that room. It was amazing.
I have two minor quibbles. One, mentioned by another reviewer, is that the dirty water tank tends to leak when you empty it -- which is disgusting. I place it completely inside the sink before trying to empty it so it won't spill on me or the floor.
The other is that while the Oxygen Boost formula for set-in stains works like magic, it requires a lot of the liquid, which comes in very small bottles. I get only a little over two tankfuls per bottle, which isn't enough on a morning like this. They should sell it in gallon containers.
Before I got the SpotBot I was trying to figure out how to find the money to rip out all my carpet and replace it with laminate before the family next gathers at Thanksgiving. Thanks to the SpotBot I can put that off for at least another year.
In order to help with the circle left on the carpeting I find using the hose attachment with suction only sucking up the excess water after cleaning helps to make the circles not as visible. Be sure to clean the hose afterwards.
I also turn the solution tank upside down on the machine to prevent as much leakage. I also leave the cleaning part of the machine over a sink overnight to dry out. I store the machine on a plastic tray to catch any excess water.
I've had spot-bots in the past and they were lifesavers with my older ailing pets, but this new one rocks. The brushes are great, the handheld option is a new feature for me, the cleaning products really work and my rugs sparkle!
I have been waiting for the ihome to come out for the iphone 5 and I love this dock! The only issue is it does not fit with a case on the phone. Apparently due to some Apple requirements and the rubber strip on the bottom, it does not work with a case on it.
There are some easy hacks you can do. You can easily remove the rubber strip as it is just taped on and if your phone has a wider cut out at the bottom then it will probably work with your phone.
Now, just because it doesn't fit the case doesn't mean I don't recommend this dock, I obviously do. The case thing doesn't bother me too much but I am sure after days of taking it out of the case every time I want to listen to music I may change my mind.

Forget it if you have even the slimmest case!!!!!!
I need a job at ihomes research department, why do they continue to make products that will not work with a case!!!!! I bet 99 percent of apple users have a case and my case is super thin and this won't even think about connecting. Hope this saves someone the time of trying to see if it works.
