We moved into a new apartment and as with new apt there are no overhead lights in the bedroom. So being on a budget specially after moving I bought this lamp. Right out the box I loved this lamp. Its easy to assemble. Just screw the metal poles together, unscrew the shade fasteners and screw them back in. The top light is a 3way bulb. The whole thing about15 minutes. Its a very sturdy lamp. I was expecting flimsy plastic pole but to my surprise its metal and the base is heavy. When I switched it on the brightness was very surprising on the first click 50 watts. Its the best lamp I think I ever owned. I will definitely recommend to anyone either on a budget or not. FYI they sell the 3way CFL bulbs. I read the reviews from other people and I am surprised now by the negative reviews I saw. The only thing I would change and maybe I will down the road is the plastic shades to glass ones but hey for [$] I am extremely happy with my purchase. see less

I am so pleased with this lamp!! I thought for the price it would be very cheaply made and not be worth it but I took the chance anyway. After buying the first one, putting it together, seeing the light it put out (torch uses 3 way bulb, task uses up to a 60 watt*I used a CFL*), and being able to adjust the task light to my liking I was in love!! After using it constantly for a few weeks I went back and bought two more lamps!!!! If you're on a budget but need a decent looking and good performing floor lamp then THIS IS FOR YOU!! see less

I just received these floor lamps tonight. I had ordered three assembling all within 30 minutes. I needed these in my office, bedroom and living room. I initially wanted to purchase nicer floor lamps but was desperate for more lighting. I thought that I would be using two in my bedroom and the old one in my office. No need to do that because the lighting is awesome in my bedroom with just one!! I can't believe how dark it was in my room using the floor lamp I had been using. I'm glad that I had read the reviews because assembly was really important to me since I'm not very handy. Didn't even have to read the directions either. I actually received these for free since I had received gift cards for Christmas!! see less

It has a good sturdy base, perfect height and looks good. Be careful to use right size bulb. Overall this was the best value we found on line and more than meets our needs. I like that mine is a 3 way light. One turn puts on 2 lights, second turn puts on 3 lights and the third turn puts on all 5 lights. So, don't get confused and think it does not work, it does, and works well every time. You can place the shades to compliment each cycle of light. I like the 2 dark pink for the first turn of 2 lights and the next turn lights the 3 lighter shades while the last turn lights all 5 shades. see less

Great lamp for the price. Store item number starts with 07402. There are several lamps the same but with different colors. I rated this with the price of the lamp in mind. I love it. The lamp I bought is Store Item Number DPCI 074 02 2121. [.............] My lamp went together perfectly and the bulbs screwed in well. I think the receptacles for the bulbs are not very smooth, but just line up the bulb right and it will go in. You can choose to light 2 at a time, 3 at a time, or all 5. It's a very pretty lamp. I bought this for my office at work about a year ago. Looks great. Love the style of it. My lamp's base is very basic black metal, but suits the lamp. Very easy to put together. Shade pulls down and sort of hooks into place. I have a 60 watt bulb -max recommended at that time- in it. Didn't come with a CFL bulb when I bought it. I will switch to CFL or LED once the current bulb conks out just because it will be a cooler bulb to have within a paper shade. The lamp is bright enough for the purpose of lighting a corner of my office. Great ambiance once the sun goes down. This has a step-on button for turning the lamp on/off which I like. Only negative I can think of is that the cord isn't very long. This is not an expensive looking lamp, but, in my opinion, is a great looking lamp nonetheless. Just the 'look' I wanted. see less

I purchased this lamp almost 7 years ago after moving into my first solo apartment during college. My husband and I bought our first home a year ago, and this little lamp is still going strong! I am actually getting ready to purchase another one because I ripped a hole in the shade with the vacuum. After 7 years, the only issue is a slight yellowing of the shade, which is totally normal. I feel like this lamp has had a MUCH longer than expected life. This lamp made it through countless moves, pets, and parties. I highly recommend! see less

This was supposed to be like a reading lamp behind my mother's chair but it lights up my entire living room (19'x16'). It is very easy to assemble but just a heads up - screw the rods in slowly. I got all excited and one part got stuck (it was my own fault) but i easily unstuck it and had the lamp up and lit in 15-20 mins or even less. The pole part is slender but sturdy and the lamp shade is light weight so the lamp will not topple over.Honestly, I bought this lamp because it's the only one i could find under .... ANYWHERE! To my surprise when i went to the target store it was on sale and I got it for less! I went back the next day and purchased a 2nd one. I highly recommend this lamp to budget shoppers esp students. For the price, this is a really nice lamp. The wood looks like good quality. I spent money on more expensive bookshelves and a dining table, and didn't want to spend additional money right away. I figured I would buy a nicer lamp a year or so down the road. I was worried it wood look out of place, but it doesn't, and I'm still using it now 2 years later. I also came back to the site and purchased two of the smaller table lamps to match. The light quality is very good. It lets you use a 150W bulb which is nice and bright. The shade softens the light quality without sacrificing brightness. The shelves are handy. I keep decorations on the bottom two and leave the top one free for placing a cup or snack, or novel/kindle. They're not large enough for a laptop. Since a few reviewers complained the pull-chain is flimsy and has broken, leaving the lamp useless, I have it connected to my wall switch and only use that to turn it on and off. see less

I bought this because I was sick of the big bulky table that was previously next to my bed. It was easy to put together, and as I recall it didn't need any tools, but maybe a screwdriver. The three shelves are great for a basket to hold your things. I put a heavier basket on the bottom to make the lamp more stable, because it is lightweight. I seek "deals" in general, and would have preferred to only have paid around [$] total for the lamp. The style is great though. see less

Have had this lamp for 3-plus years. Target wouldn't still be selling it if it weren't awesome! It's stylish and provides a lot of light. My only complaint is that it's a little on the short side. I purchased a black plastic sturdy storage block to set it on to boost the height. Since it's behind a couch no one notices. Would definitely recommend this lamp! see less

The drum shade is a little lighter than pictured online. Less of a taupe and more of a vanilla or eggshell. Nice either way. Not the sturdiest lamp base so if you have a bunch of kids or large dogs running around, I would not suggest putting it somewhere they can get to easily. Otherwise, no complaints. I looked for a lamp like this for years and finally found one in my price range. Very happy with my new lamp! These types of lamps run in the hundreds of dollars elsewhere. see less

Give a very contemporary modern look with the tripod legs. I do agree that the cord at the top could be hidden a little better but it doesn't bug me all that much. It is a bargain for the price and similar ones go for at least a hundred dollars if not more elsewhere. This is a very stable lamp and I don't have problems with the paint on the legs. The ring piece that holds up the shade is slightly crooked but is easily fixable by bending it slightly. The bulb that it comes with is quite dim so if you're using this to light up your entire living room you'll have to purchase something brighter. Overall, I'm glad that I found this lamp. We've had this lamp for about a year and a half and still love it! My husband is very picky about lamps, but this one made the cut! It's tall enough, one problem we were having when looking for a good floor lamp, and it's sturdy. It also looks very nice. It gives a good warm light, and still works with a regular bulb if we run out of the 3-way bulbs. We usually use this to light up our living room rather than our overhead light. It's great! see less

I was hesitant to buy this based on the negative reviews, but I think people need to chill out. This is a great product. I looked into purchasing one from [...], but I did not want to spend that much for a floor lamp. [...] This lamp is on the floor, behind my couch, and curves over the desk and couch so the light actually hits midpoint between. I love the look of this lamp in my house, its EASY to turn off and on. I've never had an issue with it falling over, or having any of the issues these other people have had. If you are doubting the purchase, go check it out at your local store. I think this is a great value, I've had it for about 5 months now and don't regret the purchase AT ALL. Totally worth it. If it were to break in a couple months, I would go buy another one. see less

Exactly what I wanted, a good bright lamp. This takes three 100-watt bulbs so gives out a lot of light, but has a variable switch if you want to dim a bit. Only little hiccup was the tube from the shade to the handle -- the part built to be height-adjustable -- slipped inside the wider part of the of the pole and took a bit of finagling to get back out. A minor blip. Everything fit together easy peasy and I have an attractive, functional lamp. Perfect! see less

great lamp, does a wonderful job of lighting up my living room. I think this is the same as the Home version on the website. target must of switched their generic name to threshold. It does exactly what I needed it to do, which is give me great light to read books by. the switch is in an awkward spot the only thing that makes it negative. the switch is at the top of the light, so if you are tall or have easy access no problem, but if you are short or don't have direct access to the top of the lamp, watch your fingers as the bulb gets hot. I solve this by going from the top of the lamp, but would of been great if they could of put the switch on the upright piece rather than on the light bulb area. see less

I was definitely enticed by the price tag, and this lamp has not disappointed. I've never had any problem with them, until the last year or so, when 4 of the shades began to crack & break. Must be the heat from the bulb & such. For the low price, they've been worth it. I just purchased this floor lamp for my daughter's recently re-painted room. I put it together last night in no time at all and it looks great. Nice quality. I wish we could have chosen the color of the lampshade, pink and white checked, but luckily for us it works with the colors in her room.
